Berkeley House provides an affordable and charming getaway in lo

My wife and I spent our Honeymoon at the Berkeley House and have been back several times for getaways. It is wonderful to have a whole charming country home to ourselves that includes a jacuzzi, a pool table, a screened in porch for the summertime, and a gas fireplace, ideal for curling up in front of in the wintertime. Berkeley Springs is a charming town that boasts hot baths, a health spa, a handful of good restaurants, cafe's and coffee shops, and two large antique malls. It's only two hours from our home in the DC area and is priced so we can afford it.

Great location - very comfortable

This was our second visit to the Berkley House. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas weekend! We piled our gifts under the tree by the gas fireplace and played some carols on the piano. The huge two person jacuzzi tub was heaven. Rustic accents such as the antique (working) oven, old-timey photos and wood floors created a nostalgic vibe that was perfect for the holidays. We highly recommend the Berkley House!

The house was great, ideal location, beautiful lot. The Herrmanns were very easy to deal with, it made the trip so relaxing. Everything was nicely maintained and clean. Loved all the fresh towels and soaps! It felt like a home away from home.

Almost Heaven

Sam bailed us out of what could have been an anniversary disaster. Accomodating us at the last minute, brought us to their immaculate home in Berkeley Springs. Even though it rained non stop, we had a blast. The cottage was full of character and charm. Pool table in the basement kept us occupied while waiting to go on our next adventure. Sam's recommendations were perfect. The piano, the pictures, brought a little bit of Sam and Joe's personality to the cottage. We most certainly will be back!!

Perfect Getaway from the City

The Berkeley House is a perfect place to escape to a space that allows you to be at peace with yourself, bond with your friends, and relax in a simple and peaceful place. The home is beautiful with timeless pieces that reminds its guests of the history of the home. It sits on a hill and is within walking distance (simply a 5 minute walk down the hill to the center of the town). There's plenty of space in this home to unwind: nice sun room to read, a beautiful deck to BBQ and have long conservations over a meal, a jacuzzi room to relax your body, a pool and club room to play board games, pool, and have drinks with your friends, and well appointed rooms to sleep comfortably. This is definitely a place I would like to come back to every quarter or even when you just want to get out of the hussle and bussle of city life.

This was the second time we stayed at Berkeley House, and both times have been a pleasure. The location is great, a little away from it all, and the house has always been clean and welcoming. Love the downstairs pool table, too.

Great Location...and clean!

I've been here three times. Upon arrival the house is always neat, tidy, and fresh. Either all the guests are respectful to the next arriving guests, or the owners work real hard to keep this house clean and in great shape between guests...probably both! I love the fact that I can walk to the shops downtown, yet it is removed just enough from the town center that I can get peaceful rest in the house without hearing downtown traffic. Very comfy furniture and beds. I love the big open kitchen/dining area, great for entertaining friends who visit. The owners always seem to be available to answer my simple questions, and with a friendly attitude. I will return, no doubt.

Much Needed Getaway

We had a very quiet, relaxing, fun time! Very cozy! Everything you could possibly need is there for you! Coffee and snacks were in the kitchen upon our arrival. Great location and good restaurants. Excellent hospitality for our moms' weekend getaway

The Berkeley House was the perfect spot for 4 moms escaping the city for a weekend retreat. We especially enjoyed the food and drinks so thoughtfully provided for our stay. The house was a great place to relax between outings and we enjoyed walking to town for the spa and dining. Everyone slept comfortably. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the homey amenities.
