Additional Location Information
In the main street as well as the neighboring streets there are numerous supermarkets, local shops, and all kinds of charming bars and international restaurants. For visitors who enjoy walking, in ten minutes it is possible to be at the famous avenue Kurfürstendamm with its Zoological garden (Berlin Zoologischer Garten station (German: Bahnhof Berlin Zoologischer Garten, shortened to Berlin Zoo or colloquially Bahnhof Zoo, was the central transport facility in West Berlin during the division of the city, and thereafter for the western central area of Berlin until opening of the new Berlin Central Station -Hauptbahnhof- on 28 May 2006 ) and the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche Memorial Church.
In a few minutes walk you reach the Kurfürstendamm, known locally as the Ku'damm, is one of the most famous avenues in Berlin. The street takes its name from the former Kurfürsten (prince-electors) of Brandenburg. This very broad, long boulevard can be considered the Champs-Élysées of Berlin — full of shops, houses, hotels and restaurants. In particular, many fashion designers have their shops there, as well as several car manufacturers' show rooms.
A symbol of Berlin is also very close to the flat: The Protestant Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (in German: Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, but mostly just known as Gedächtniskirche) is located in Berlin on the Kurfürstendamm in the centre of the Breitscheidplatz. The original church on the site was built in the 1890s. It was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1943. The present building, which consists of a church with an attached foyer and a separate belfry with an attached chapel, was built between 1959 and 1963. The damaged spire of the old church has been retained and its ground floor has been made into a memorial hall.
In front of the church you can visit the KaDeWe (The Kaufhaus des Westens (English "Department Store of the West"), usually abbreviated to KaDeWe), is a department store in Berlin. With over 60,000 square metres of selling space and more than 380,000 articles available, it is the second-largest department store in Europe; trumped only by Harrods in London. It attracts 40,000 to 50,000 visitors every day.)
The nearest transport option is the city train stop Savignyplatz that is a 2-minute walk away, and heads directly into the city and attractions such as Unter den Linden ( Unter den Linden "under the linden trees" is a boulevard in the Mitte district of Berlin, the capital of Germany. It is named for its linden -lime in British English) trees that line the grassed pedestrian mall between two carriageways., the area of Hackescher Markt (famous for its nightlife centered around the Hackesche Höfe courtyard ensemble ) and Alexanderplatz with its television tower.
