BoxholmPerfect for Two
Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This rental is a charming cottage in the woods. Secluded yet conveniently located, it is a short drive to the ski area. The appliances are updated and everything is clean, neat and tidy. So many of the rentals accommodate a lot people. It was difficult to find a smaller unit for two people, but I'm glad we found this one.

A very nice chalet. Everything was quite new and well cared for. It was very clean. It would be nice to have a little bigger tv, but that is minor.

IllinoisAnother great winter vacation in the up
Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This was our second year at Hamlet House. The check in was fast and the cabin was in great condition.
This year we decided on staying 4 nights, 2 days of skiing and 1 day of rest. What is really great is that there are plenty of games and having a VCR and DVD player in the cabin made it easy for us to relax watching movies that we brought along for the trip.
Having the kitchen is a must for us along with a refrigerator. And with a Wal-Mart being close it was easy to stock up on items we needed for meals and packing lunches for the ski hills.
The kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils, plates for eating, and a dishwasher for cleanup. There was also plastic wrap, tin foil, and various spices to help with cooking and saving leftovers.
The cabin has a sauna outside and a wood burning stove. The sauna is great to warm up after skiing and the wood burning stove kept the cabin nice and toasty in addition to the baseboard heaters in each room.
Big Powerderhorn has shuttle services to take you from the cabin to the ski hill, restaurant, and swimming pool. But if you want to drive the ski hill and pool is only 5 minutes away. We used the pool each day.
All in all this is best way of spending a few quite days and having family fun in the winter.

Hoffman Estates, ILAll the comforts of home but away in the woods
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Check in was fast and easy, everything in the property was well labeled and hints and notes for their use.
The home was well decorated, comfortable, clean, and up to date with both cable TV and wireless internet. Having a ski locker and sauna was great along with the wood stove that we used daily.
In the kitchen not only did they have the normal amenities but they also had consumables such as plastic wrap, bags, spices, and hot chocolate. We had no issues cooking and with a dishwasher cleaning up.
The owner of this cabin really took the time to make sure there were things to do for the kids, they had so many games and even had movies and Cd's in the room.

We found the Hamlet Haus a perfect setting for our weekend. Clean, quiet, comfortable and nicely renovated with white pine; a very cabin-like feel. A much better value than a hotel/motel.

Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Hamlet Haus turned out to be precisely what my wife and I were looking for. It was meticulously maintained and has every amenities necessary for daily living, including internet access. We vistt in Bessemer over the 4th every year, and can't wait to return to Hamlet Haus. It is perfect for two to four people. The deck was a bonus for a relaxing glass of wine.
I can't speak to a winter stay, but the location for sightseeing, hiking and nature watching in the up and Wisc. is convenient to everything within 50 miles. -

Hamlet Haus is a very nice cabin. Nicely decorated with very comfortable accommodations. The kitchen has all modern appliances and everything we needed was there. The 2 bedrooms have plenty of room. Very quiet location with picturesque views. I would highly recommend Hamlet Haus to anyone traveling to the Big Powderhorn area. You wont be disappointed.

My family stayed at the Hamlet Haus for 4 nights and it was very clean, very reasonable priced and close to the resort. The rooms were very nice and my kids really liked the bunk beds and having their own tv. However the living room furniture was a little uncomfortable. Overall it was a nice home.

The cabin was lovely. It was beautiful the entire time we were there. The one thing that was a disappointment was the amentities of the ski lodge. There was nothing absolutely nothing open to have a drink, eat out or anything once 4p hit. We either had to go into town or go back to the cabin. I mean the Caribou wouldn't even serve a drink! I was disappointed especially since the main lodge had burned I would have thought that either alpen or the Caribou would have picked up some of us trying to support the ski resort with our business.

The Halmet house is a very clean, up to date, modern cabin.
My family and I enjoyed our weekend in Bessemer. The snow was perfect. It was nice to get away from the Christmas craziness at our house. We definitely plan on staying at the Hamlet house again next year. -

Drove the kids to the aBR event, and had to find a place to stay. Looked at the Comfort Inn but was overpriced for what you got, so called this place on a whim. Glad we did, cabin was great, location even better and convenient.
Only hitch was a suprise attempt by the check-in person to charge be a $30 "booking fee" that wasn't quoted when we called. Not sure what the fee was for since I was standing right there. She took it off after some protest. -

The Hamlet Haus was a cozy home away from home for our ski vacation. The individual themostats in each room was great. My niece liked it 75 in her bedroom but I like to sleep with it at 55 in mine. The kitchen was fully stocked with what you needed to cook including a waffle iron which we enjoyed using one morning. The Sauna was so relaxing after a day on the slopes. You should have instructions for use though for those who have never used a sauna luckily being Finnish I knew what I was doing.
My only criticism would be that you need to stock more toilet paper and it was a little pricey, maybe throw in a discount for a ski tickets???
