      Snow, Snow, Snow!

Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We had a great time over the President's Day holiday in this house. It's a nice house in a very good ski in - ski out location. Like many rentals here, it appears to have been built in the early 70's and not remodeled much since. WiFi worked great and the place was plenty big. It could use a bit of updating but it's still nice.

      Winter get away

Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Our stay at the Mountain View was a first for our family. The accommodations were very nice, and was more than enough room for my family of five and our dog. Plenty of room for dining, and spacious living room for kids and dog to run around. We had a fire roaring every night, but would recommend not having aspen for indoor burning. There were lots of games and puzzles for the kids, which was also nice. All around, a great value for a trail side unit. The only complaint I would have about the unit (which was very minimal) was the spiral staircase. It makes it a tad difficult to bring in some of the larger items from the car. There are stairs around back going up to the deck, but then you drag snow all over the living room.

      A stay to remember

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013

For the last four years my family has stayed at this cabin during our annual ski trip to Powderhorn, we've grown to love it. There are a few hiccups - you have to be pretty nimble to navigate the spiral staircase, and this is the second year in a row that Powderhorn hasn't opened Flintlock in time for our stay so it hasn't been the "trailside" stay that we've hoped and paid for. We've treked our way across the hill to get over to an open lift/run in order to make it over to the lodge. To compensate for the "inconvenience" they took 10% off per night we stayed that our trail wasn't open. Otherwise, we love staying there. It's size is perfect for our group - six adults and a dog. That's another perk - we get to bring the dog. We have such a great time, stopping in during the ski day to warm up by the fire with a drink! Making dinner, playing games, watching movies every night.. so much better than staying in town at a hotel! Oh and the best part of the stay this year was that my boyfriend proposed at mountain view in front of the fireplace! So this cabin will always hold a special memory for us!

      Great Place Trailside!

Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012

The stay and accommodations were great. We loved the large open living room area that accommodates a large group quite nicely. The ability to ski in and out was a great perk and made it very easy with small kids. When they got cold we could simply ski in and drop them off and continue skiing without it being a big ordeal to undress and shuttle to another place.

I have stayed at multiple places at Powderhorn over the years and this one so far is my favorite. I am keeping this on my list to come back to next year!

      Nice Unit-Needs work

Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The home was very nice, great fireplace that is well stocked with wood, excellent sauna and a comfortable living room. The unit needs updating as it is very worn and in need of paint and some repairs. the bedrooms are nice but is definitely a challenge navigating the spiral staircase to get from the bedrooms to the main floor. The loft is only useable by the very nimble. The view is great and had there been more snow it is a great ski in/ ski out unit. Overall the unit was good.

      Convenient to slope

Left on 03/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Unit was comfortable, except bedrooms were small. Electrical system in kitchen could not handle the power requirements of all the appliances and would often trip the circuit-breaker. A fluorescent bulb was burned out in the kitchen. Dinner at the alpen Inn was excellent! Due to the lodge fire, it was a little inconvenient to buy tickets at the Caribou, but understandable. Kids liked the pool. There was no ice skating rink. Skiing was cold!

      great time with friends

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011

we enjoyed our days at Mountain view, everything was clean and neat. The only conplaint we had is our trail side hill was not grumed to get to the chail life that was running.
It mad it very difficult to get to it because I believe we had about six inches of snow during our stay. It would have been nice to ski to alpine Inn.

      Mountain View

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011

We were pleasantly surprised with Mountain View. While the unit itself could use some serious updating, it proved to be functional and in a terrific location. The living area was open and spacious for our group of 12. While the furniture in the unit was older, it was comfortable and served its purpose The ski in / out accessibility was great! We were lucky enough to have "warmer" weather during our stay, so we took advantaged of the fire pit outside and had a nice apres ski in the snow! Overall we had a great experience and would not hesitate renting the unit again.

      Most memorable trip!

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in January 2011

This was an extremely memorable trip this year for many reasons. When we arrived the Main Lodge was on fire! So needless to say it wasn't a good site to see. The lodging association did a fantastic job of accommodating us considering all the excitement around the mountain. The Mountain View Chalet was everything I expected it to be. The location couldn't have been any better! Very clean and well supplied on the inside. Looking forward to making it back again next year.

      My stay at Mountain View

Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Not my first time there. Updating is clearly needed. Heat downstairs pretty bad. Staircase to upstairs is the main drawback. Kitchen is great, so is fireplace. Still had a great time but it is really a bit too pricey for the quality of the property. My only real knock on the BPLA staff is the "check in" procedure. I have been there four or five times now and every time you arrive, the check-in person seems to be in a haze about your reservation---computers not working right---always something to make you feel not "right" about the check-in. Otherwise, I like the place a lot.
