Grandmother in WIsconsin
Green BayGreat weekend with family
Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We had a wonderful time at Powderhorn celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. We had the kids and grandkids with us and it worked out extremely well. The one upstairs bedroom was good size for one family with two children using the bunk beds. The other bedroom upstairs was good for another couple (Bathroom was a little small, but manageable) and their children slept on the day beds downstairs. The downstairs bedroom was great for us and the bathroom was a little larger and made for easy access. The sauna was just off that bathroom and was a real hit with the grandkids.
The kitchen was very well equipped and easy to make our lunches and breakfasts. The living room was cozy and comfortable. The dining area only sat 8 and so we had to have some sit in the living room. The TV was good as was the sound system. At times we felt a little cramped in the LR with 10 of us.
But the real highlight was the location! It was such easy access for skiing and for snowshoeing. Our 9 year old grandchild was the only one that was not an "experienced" skier and by the time we left 3 days later, he was able to go on the chairlift by himself and ski down the hill past our unit and wave to us! There was no problem with noise from the adjoining duplex.
The only negative was that we walked across to the alpen Inn for dinner one night and it was almost not edible. Only 2 people out of the 10 were able to eat their meals. And, what was even more disturbing was the fact that our granddaughters walked into the bathroom and were met with a couple engaging in inappropriate behavior for a public bathroom! Very drunk and loud people in the bar as well as the bathrooms! This is not anything to do with the lodging but be forewarned!!!

The unit was spacious, very updated and well done. Bedding was exceptional for a rental and the amount of sleeping space was amazing although our grandson's preferred the sleeping spaces under the stairs and the TV vs going upstairs.
Everything worked as expected and the water cooler was a nice bonus. We would stay again. -

Left on 02/23/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed at Winterpark 2 for the Presidents' Day long weekend. It was well supplied (kitchen, wood) and very clean. Our only complaint is that the sitting area around the fire is too small for a group larger than four (and we were only a group of four, all average-tall adults and found it tight). Since we were there to ski, this wasn't a huge problem, and as a ski in/out location it was wonderful. Located about half way up the alpen run, it is an easy ski down to the lift, which was never too busy even on this busy weekend in perfect conditions (sunny, calm with well-groomed slopes). Winterpark 2 is located directly across the road from the alpen Inn restaurant, so even going out to eat was easy and did not require driving.

We enjoyed our stay at Powderhorn very much.
The lodge was very workable for the four of us but we could have four more and it would still have been comfortable.
Only wish the day would not have been so windy. We all had a good time. -

A great location with beautiful views of the fall colors and ski hill. The house was well kept and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in staying in the area. We didn't want to leave and hope to make a trip there again soon.

Nice house with easy access to chair lift. Rooms a bit small, and did notice some cobwebs in light fixtures. Overall, a great house and had a wonderful time
