st paul, mnGreat condo for the money
Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in October 2012
This was a nice place to stay. The layout was different, with the bedrooms all downstairs and all the dining and living and kitchen upstairs. Loved the wood burning Fireplace (please dont switch this to gas!) and the deck overlooking the slopes. This was a bit dated, with a 1970's feel - but still cool. I rented this in the Fall (OCT) and got a great deal. Looked to rent this over the winter and it was like 250-350 per night and this was way overpriced in my opinion. --- All told - great place for 6 or so persons to stay!!!

We have been coming here for years and this was our 3rd time staying in the alpen Villas. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. Nothing fancy but it has everything we need and it is a great location. So convenient for the kids to just ski in and out. The new lodge was beautiful, staff was great and we will be back again next year!

Mix from WILove to getaway, great place!
Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed here 1/24-1/27. Ruth assisted our huge group during the reservation process and was beyond awesome!
The place is nice with fireplace. The kitchen was stocked with all pots and pans neccesary to cook for a large group and great seating area in living room. Ski in/out was amazing and allowed everyone to be flexible while they skied. I will be coming here again with and without a large group! Hot tub was awesome of course. The only thing I would change is to maybe have an extra pull out bed-just because even though there is enough sleeping room already, guests then have to share beds and may not be "couples" (or a blow up matress available). Again-awesome place! -

This was our fifth year staying at the alpen Villa's and we will be back again next year. The Unit has always been well furnished, stocked with essentials and appliances in good working order. The amenities, like laundry facilities, WiFi, BBQ grill, are a real plus. Management staff has always been friendly, professional and there to make sure anything you may need is availalble. And, the country\out of the way location is exactly what we enjoy.

We try to stay at alpen Villa #5, Big Powderhorn whenever we visit Bessemer, Michigan. Love it! It is just right for two people; well kept and has air-conditioning and washer & dryer -very important to us in July as that is when we usually go. We fish, hike, swim, boat, casnio, and just take in the beautiful scenery and there are many, many places to visit in that area. Plus Bessemer's 4th of July celebration is great!

Spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. Furnishings are outdated, but comfortable enough. Great deal.

Madison, WIGreat time...right up until she broke her legs
Left on 03/03/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Although the cabin was quite dated, it was very clean. Additionally, management responded quickly to our complaints of hard beds buy purchasing foam toppers (made all the difference). The kids loved the hot-tub and we LOVED the ski-in/ski-out! The washer & dryer in the basement were LOVELY for wet snow apparel. We really had a FANTASTIC time right up until our 5 year old broke both her legs on the hill. Freak accident. Our older children continued to ski after the accident and, although they were a little nervous, finished out the trip.

Left on 01/15/2010 for a stay in December 2009
This is a upper/lower townhouse or condo type rental with 8 units in the
building. Easy access to the main road, parking and frontdoor. Two bedrooms
lower and a very large family room above with full kitchen. My kids liked the
easy access to the hill, the fireplace and the hottub -- shared with the unit
next to you. The only draw back was the noisy pipes/heating elements that
seamed to knock all night long (it was single digit temps when we were there). -

MinnesotaNice Accomodations on the hill - but the lift wasn't open!
Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Alpen Villa 5 is a comfortable, clean place that sleeps up to 6, with a nice little kitchen, open living room, and access to the mountain.
However, the week before Christmas, when we stayed there, the mountain only had 4 lifts out of the 9 open and we couldn't access the ski in/ski out, which is why we chose this place! Obviously this is a Powederhorn Skiing problem, not the Lodging. There was plenty of snow, all of the lifts should have been open.
The kitchen didn't really have any solid pans for cooking - just one medium/small saucepan. It could use a couple of nice big cooking sauce and saute pans. There was a big pasta pot and large bowls though. We had most of what we needed and everything worked nicely.
The place could use a nice new TV, as the one it has is small and outdated, and placed in a high corner of the living room, hard to watch.
The firepace and hot tub were nice, we enjoyed taking advantage of both.
