How can you say that you had an "awesome" ski vacation when you are getting ready to ski at 9 a.m. and it is -27 outside? And we aren't talking wind chill here. How? Stay at Sno Summit and you will know why. We are avid skiers but also enjoy the great family time that comes with staying at Bpla. Sno Summit is made for that family time. It has great gathering spaces as well as nice private spaces. Plentiful bedrooms, bathrooms, a great area to put on/take off your gear, entertainment area (pool, shuffle board - both huge hits), fireplaces, two hot tubs, two refrigerators - I could go on. But you could do all that "stuff" on the cheap right? Not these owners. They pumped serious money into this place. You will find high end cabinetry, a huge wet bar with a granite surface, an outdoor hot tub that can keep warm even when it is -30 in the evening, I could go on.
We also found the staff at Big Powderhorn Lodging association so wonderful to work with again. They are there to ensure your vacation is great.
Things for the owner to consider investing in? Some new mattresses - especially for the queen/doubles. Most of the guests who had these bedrooms complained of "rolling into the middle of the mattress" - which speaks to a seriously worn out mattress. But that is my only recommendation. We booked again for next year.
Thanks for sharing your awesome place with us.
Another great family ski trip with great lodging at Sno Summirt

After staying at several trail side lodging condos for the last 25 years, Sno Summit is our family favorite! Unfortunately, it is booked for next February. It is beautiful and so very comfortable with rooms galore for a large group. We appreciate the opportunity to have been able to stay and use the many amenities available. Great place!!
Excellent facility for large groups

We really like sno summit. It is ideal for the type of weekend we had planned - 10 people from work spent 3 nights and two days there. There was plenty of room to stretch out and little private areas if you needed to take a break. The two hot tubs - one inside and one outside are great. Also it was really clean and the staff did a great job preparing for our party. We loved it. Read more

My group has been coming to Big Powderhorn for 27 years. We've stayed in all kinds of chalets. From Snow Flake to SlopeSide and Weekend adjustment. This was by far the best unit on the hill. We are a large group of guys so we appreciated all the bedrooms. The pool table and shuffle board table were used non-stop. The hot tub as well. Pleanty of room to spread out. It doesn't hurt to have the best snow up there in a few years. Weather was great, Skiing was fantastic. I'm hoping to get this unit again next year.
One thing for the owners; we noticed a few of the kitchen chairs on both sides were a little shakey. We kept those off to the side so we wouldn't break any. I let the lodging association know about it already.
Thanks so much!
Fabulous, well appointed ski chalet

Sno Summit is the perfect layout for multiple families to share. A beautiful large great room with huge stone fireplace where everyone can watch the action on the slopes, along with two individual more intimate family rooms on the main level where Dad can watch the weather in one and the kids can watch cartoons in the other. Two kitchens are always an asset when feeding a large group. The lower level is great for kids, tweens or teens with two additional dens for watching TV or just a place to hang out away from Mom & Dad. The lower level also boasts the indoor hot tub and Sauna (an outdoor hot tub in its own 3 season porch is also located just off the great room on the main level). There were ample bedrooms and sleeping space. We love skiing at Powderhorn and appreciate owners who provide this level of accommodations for other guests to enjoy!

Our family has been staying at Powderhorn for over 20 years, and Sno Summit is the best. It is newly remodeled and accommodated our adult family and grandchildren. The two kitchens were a plus for our family. Although there is an inside hot tub, we still prefer dashing to the outside hot tub. The Bpla are very helpful and friendly. Great place to stay!

I have to admit that I'm becoming my dad. I'm the guy who musters up complaints and tries to parlay them into discounts and freebies. I don't feel good about it. This property was perfect! We had a larger group (12-15) this year and the accommodations could not have been better. We look forward to doing it again next year.
I still wish I had someone of pinning my broken leg on...
Thanks for making our trip so uniquely at home.
Great for large groups

We enjoyed our stay at Sno Summit over Martin Luther King weekend. It is a great location (ski in ski out) and is set up to accommodate multiple families. We had 10 teenagers and 2 sets of parents and we all had space to relax after a full day of skiing. We had a basketball game. a chick flick, and a kid movie all showing in different areas at one time with plenty of room for all. Both hot tubs, sauna and pool table were great amenities.

The best place to ski in the Midwest!!

We always take a chance by booking our Midwest ski trip over New Years. Can not count on the snow. Powderhorn did a great job of making snow and getting runs open so we could still ski in and out which is very important to us. We have been coming to Powderhorn for about 40 years almost consecutively. I learned to ski there and I taught my children to ski there! The best times of my life have been at Powderhorn. We stayed at snow summit this year. It was just remodeled and beautiful. Great location on the hill. After the huge addition we all wish that they would have opened up the kitchen area to one large kitchen instead of two small kitchens. We were never able to all eat together until we rearranged some furniture. We made it work and hope to rent it again.
Our vacation was great because our rental house was amazing.

This house is phenomenal...We stayed there 5 nights and it is like in the paradise. The house is huge with very comfortable 8 bedrooms. House is well designed 2 full kitchens and has a gas fire place and a flat screen TV almost everywhere in the house. They have added a actual bar and a 42" flat screen in the main living room, the bar is equipped with everything that you need to mix your favorite, also the bar is equipped with different drink glasses (Wine, shots, mix drinks, cocktails etc ). The open air outside hot tub is the best it is located outside the main living room/bar and they come clean it every day. We went there with 5 other couples and kids so I highly recommend this house and would go back again. Well worth every single penny. Read more
