Comfortable unit, unclean upon arrival
Wonderful location. A little pricey considering it is a "side view" of the ocean, not full frontal. Only one of the 3 bedrooms had a view.
The unit, though, was very unclean upon arrival--sand all over the floor, dirty dishes crammed in the dishwasher, sticky counters, etc.
Great for families with adult children and friends
Although the Island 910 is not as beautifully decorated as some of the Sea Colony properties we have rented, it is great for our family because it overlooks the ocean and it has 4 private sleeping spaces that accomodate our family and our children's friends. Such private space is hard to come by in Sea Colony East. A couple of small improvements I would suggest - we are a family of readers and puzzle doers and the lighting in the rooms is not conducive to either. Also we like to spend time on the balcony and we eat our meals there too. It would be nice to have a little more comfortable furniture (we bring our own table). But all in all the Island 910 suits us just fine and we look forward to returning again. Ps We very much appreciated the McCabe's gift certificate and put it to good use our last night at the beach.

Very nice stay, didn't have wireless at first
This was a very nice condo and we enjoyed our week very much. However, the place was advertised as having wireless internet. It did not when we got there. To their credit, Wilgus folks came over as soon as we called. After some work, they then went out the next day and bought a new Linksys router. Wilgus really went out of their way and we appreciated it very much but it was pretty important to my wife and I to have wireless. That chewed up a couple of days before it was resolved (and my laptop never could connect to the wireless.)
That said, we liked the condo. It has a great design with a very spacious loft. The galley kitchen was a little small but the applicances were all functional. Our grown children came down on Wednesday and the family had Thanksgiving together. We never felt crowded. The Sea Colony amenities (fitness center, etc) were nice.
The view from the condo was a little different from what we expected. Very nice view of the ocean but not full on. Angled with a slightly blocked view. I should have been more careful asking about the view. For the same price, we could have found something with a better view on the same floor.
If it sounds like we were unhappy, quite the contrary. At the beach, on the 9th floor, overlooking the ocean, the week of Thanksgiving. It was a very nice stay.
Great condo, issue with cleaness
A great condo with plenty of space. It is well
furnished. However, it was not cleaned well before
our arrival. We had to call for cleaning service
again, which did mediocre job.

Sea Colony's Island House
Great location; only better place might have been 901-906! Check in/out very efficient. A real plus having a cable modem in unit 910.
Unit was fine but the service was not.
While the room was adequate in space and layout, the unit we entered was filthy with sand on the floors, cobwebs inside the windows, film on the sliding glass doors, countertops and stove in kitchen were greasy. In loft, a remnant carpet was in the middle of the room rolled up as well as a box of books on top of the dresser. A dirty sock was found behind one of the beds in the loft. Worst part was that there was no forced air in the loft which was unbearable. While an A/C service man came out he did what he could but the unit was still hot w/ no forced air upstairs. The entire week was spent w/ the a/c running but the unit never cooled off properly. He said he had to add freon too.
Overall, I was deeply disappointed and would not recommend this unit to anyone. The view was good and proximity of the pool was convenient. Someone also took our parking spot the last night of our stay and had to have security come out and have them move their vehicle at 11:30 at night.
I have been coming to Sea Colony now for 10 years and we have never had an experience like this. Wilgus was courteous and tried to help but to walk into a unit as it was, we felt like we walked into someone's home unannounced. We paid close to $3,000 and were highly disappointed in what we got for our money. There was no offer of anything other than to send the cleaning people back out. The windows were never addressed even when we said they did not clean them. We were told by the cleaning people that someone else was supposed to take care of that. I would have expected that something would have been done more than to just send out the cleaners and the hvac service which really didn't remedy the situation at all. There was no follow up from Wilgus to see if our needs were met after the initial calls. On a positive side, the kitchen was remodeled nicely and the family enjoyed the large flat screen tv. I welcome any comments back to discuss this further.

Thank you for your feedback. This unit was recently remodeled and everything is in good working order. The A/C service tech reported that the A/C unit was operating fine and he tried to force more air upstairs, but lofts are always hot, and in this case, being in the penthouse (heat rises) did not help. We added a fan to help circulate air which did seem to help. We apologize now, as we did then that the cleaning was less than perfect. The cleaning crew was responsible for the windows and were sent back to address your issues. I apologize that some items were still missed. The cleaning coordinator will be notified. We attempt to address all concerns and to make every vacation as comfortable and memorable as possible.
