Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Beds were very comfortable and the view from the huge window in the living room was just breath taking. Wendy's garden is amazing with lots & lots of beautiful & colourful flowers - what a peaceful setting! Geoffrey was very kind to tell us about places we could visit. The location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia & the north of Wales. We really enjoyed our stay and will visit again in the future!

Dear Gail, Monika and Seamus,
Thank you for submitting your very nice review to Trip Adviser; we appreciate that.
Wendy and I are both very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the Country Garden House, especially as you yourselves come from another beautiful place - the Island of Malta.
We hope you had a good flight home and we look forward to meeting you all again sometime.

Geoffrey & Wendy's Country Garden House is a wonderful tranquil piece of heaven the gardens are fabulous and the house is spotlessly clean and comfortable with stunning views. You leave your stresses and strains at the entrance. We can honestly say it was a wonderful experience and nothing is too much trouble for Geoffrey & Wendy and they provided excellent advice on places and things to do what ever the weather. Will definately be back for anithet visit. Excellent value for money.

Dear Liz and Terry - and Woody Woodruff
Thank you very much for your Trip Adviser Review. We are happy that you had a pleasant visit.
I think you have hit the nail on the head in your reference to tranquillity and leaving stress and strain at the front door. Relax! Potter about the garden, wander into the woods, go for a stroll, see the sights of North Wales.... that is exactly how we feel ourselves and we are happy to share that feeling with our guests - although we haven't ever attempted to put it into words as such.
We look forward to seeing you again sometime - if you can tear yourselves away from Liverpool, the UK home of laughter.
Sincerely,
Wendy and Geoffrey

This was our second week at Golygfa'r Llywelyn. It is an idyllic spot with amazing views over Snowdonia. Wendy and Geoff are wonderful hosts and thier garden alone is a wonderful reason to visit.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable with everything you could need for a home from home break. To wake in the morning to bird song, no traffic noise and a multicoloured vista not more than a metre from your bedroom window is an idyll to us.
There is plenty to do in the area whatever your activity level - we balanced of some quite energetic walking with some more relaxed visits of gardens, tea rooms and galleries!
We will be back next year.Response from Wendy and Geoffrey Tyson - 06/07/2013

Dear Glenys and Wynne,
Thank you for posting such a complimentary review; we are very pleased indeed that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again sometime.
This week is our best for Rhododendrons and Azaleas - the garden is ablaze with colour, and we are busy planting out lots of Dahlias, Geraniums and Surfinia trailing plants around the terrace and "decking" areas, so the garden will be very cheerful right through to October.
You are quite right; there's so much to see and do here in Snowdonia, North Wales. You could go for a different walk every day for a year without crossing your own path - so look forward to next year!
Sincerely,
Geoffrey and Wendy

Wendy and Geoffrey were great hosts and the accommodation was excellent. The views from the property are first class, the huge picture window in the lounge looking over Betws-y-Coed and the one in the dining area looking onto the garden kept us occupied watching the birds while eating dinner. We were lucky to have a brand new TV supplied as the one already in the lounge "gave up the ghost" the first evening we arrived sending Geoffrey off to the store to replace it. We were spoilt by the owners, even enjoying afternoon tea with them in their beautiful garden. We toured Nth Wales easily from the house but even a week didn't allow us enough time to see we had hoped. This is one location we hope to return to one day. Thanks guys for the great time.

Owner
Dear Mary and Alan,
Thank you for your very nice review and thank you for coming to stay with us. We enjoyed your company and we had a few good laughs, too.
What an epic the TV was! How our previous (French) guests managed to work the TV, I don't know. Your patience while it was all sorted out was much appreciated, thank you. Good comes from bad, and now we have a nice new flat-screen TV that anyone without a Masters' Degree in Electronic Engineering can easily operate. Even me.
I expect that you are comfortably settled-in at home now, in Down Under. Hope you are getting adjusted to being the wrong-way-up again - even your sunrise is back-to-front! How you cope with Life down there, we just cannot imagine.
We hope to see you again sometime but we quite understand that 10,000 miles is rather a long way to come to pop in for tea. But you will be very welcome!
Sincerely,
Wendy and Geoffrey

This self catering attached cottage in the hills of Wales was a wonderful find. It is a short downhill hike to Betws where you will find everything you need. Owners Wendy and Geoffrey are a font of information about the area and made us feel very welcome.

We are always glad to receive feedback and we are very pleased indeed that you enjoyed your stay with us - that is the main thing from our pint of view. My partner and I stayed for a weekend and wished we could have stayed longer. We were met by Wendy who was very welcoming and showed us where everything was and was helpful without being intrusive. The location is stunning set high in the hills overlooking Snowdonia. The gardens are amazing with a profusion of colourful plants and everywhere you go there is a place to sit and take in the views. The accommodation is very nice and has ever thing you could possibly want. The fold down bed in the lounge, should you need it, is as good as a regular bed and literally takes 30 seconds to take out and put away. There is a well presented kitchen with plenty of cooking equipment and utensils. There is free WiFi which is very useful and almost a libraries worth of information on places to visit and things to do.
The single track road up is quite narrow but is so little used that we did not find it a problem.
We will definitely be returning in the future -

a kitchen with all facilities for french cooking ... if you have time for that...
a lodge with wide windows nestled in an english garden, thus the living rooms and the garden are particularly pleasant to be.
the whole located in an opened forest.
impossible to find a more quiet cool place.
a relaxing view on the snowdonia mountains from the living room and the terrace.
the double bed was a bit short for me cause I use to sleep
in a 2 meter long bed.

Cher Manu, Nathalie, Coralie and Juliette,
Not "cool" in the literal sense, I hope! Our central heating is free of charge to, and controllable by, all of our guests. Rather warm, I would say.

We had 3 days stayin the Country Garden House, we had a fabulous stay. The house is secluded on a spectacular hillside, it's close to local ammenities. The owners were brilliant and helped make our stay even better, they had planned walking routes for us and were more than helpful! The accomodation was great, very clean, with comfy beds, a glorious garden with glorious views, we will definatley be back!!! We are a couple in our 50's and took 2 of our adult children, one of whom has autism and we all enjoyed it very much!! Thank you so much for making our stay fantastic!!! Very strongly recommend!!!

Dear Pamela, Monty, Daniel and Nick,
Thank you for your kind review. We enjoyed having you all to stay. Thanks especially to Nick for sorting out our Wifi problem. Well done, Nick!
We are glad that you liked using our walking route "cards" (more like big pages). As we have been here a long time, we know all the best places and routes - often completely different to the published routes - so it is especially nice when visitors like going to places that we recommend.
Thanks also for taking all those photos while out walking; a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will incorporate them into the new route cards. Keep an eye on our website, snowdonia.uk.net and you will soon see some of your photos!
We look forward to meeting you all sometime in the future,
Sincerely,
Geoffrey and Wendy

Beautiful clean cottage, fantastic gardens (extremely well kept and many places to sit and take in the scenery) - a much needed relaxing long weekend stay in a great location with breathtaking views.
Lots of leaflets and brochures about walks/museums etc and surrounding areas in the cottage which is most helpful.
Geoffrey and Wendy are lovely and so welcoming nothing is too much trouble.Response from Wendy and Geoffrey Tyson - 05/03/2012

Thank you, Anna and Richard for your kind comments.
The views of our garden and the hills of Snowdonia were fast disappearing behind misted double glazing, and the contractors had just started to replace 26 of them - when you telephoned to enquire about vacancies. Phew! That was a bit of a panic, but we managed to get cleaned up before you both arrived. How nice it was to have such pleasant guests visit us after all that.
We very much enjoyed having you and hope that you will come again - if only for you to chill out from your hectic professional lives. If you can give us a little more notice next time, we may be able to arrange for some fine weather for you as well!
Sincerely
Geoffrey and Wendy Tyson

What a perfect cottage to enjoy our 4 days in and around Betws-y-Coed. Situated high above the village with the most amazing view of Snowdonia from the panorama window. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything you could want for a comfortable stay including a washing machine. Plenty to see and do in the area as well as some nice walks from your front door. Wendy and Geoffrey are extremely knowledgeable about their little piece of paradise, they truly love where they live and want to share it with you. Their garden is a delight with many places to sit and relax in.
Thanks for a wonderful stay in Garden Cottage and we hope the geraniums keep on flowering.Response from Wendy and Geoffrey Tyson - 07/20/2011

Thank you for your very kind comments, Ros and Eric. We are pleased that the accommodation was to your liking and up to scratch. Yes, the geraniums are flowering well, thank you. We enjoyed having you to stay for a few days and hope that the rest of your tour was successful - if not quite as energetic!

The Country Garden House in Betws-y-Coed was an absolute gem of a place for us to stay in Northern Wales. The garden apartment was spaciously comfortable and we had fabulous garden and forest views through large windows from every room. The location was ideal being just a few minutes from charming Betws-y-Coed village and we had the beautiful Snowdonia National Park on our doorstep as well. The kitchen had everything a reasonable traveller could want and the inventory was much better than average. Owners Geoff and Wendy were so relaxed and friendly. They couldn't have done more to make our 4 day visit the highlight in our long UK touring itinerary so far. They were also extremely knowledgable about the local hiking trails, some of which pass by their property's boundary. We should have booked in for at least a week but our four days there will remain a long treasured memory.
