Saint Jean de Luz may not be as famous as Biarritz, but in many ways it offers a more authentic Basque experience. In fact, the town has a storied history as a favorite haunt of 17th century pirates. It’s also where Louis XIV secured a treaty by marrying a Spanish princess. Today, as you walk the streets, you’ll see a large number of 17th and 18th century residences in addition to museums, churches, and other cultural and historical attractions.

Saint Jean de Luz is also where you’ll find one of our most spacious apartments. With an impressive 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, the Penthouse comfortably sleeps 8 guests with room to... spare. It also boasts an ultramodern aesthetic with cathedral ceilings, granite countertops in the kitchen, and plenty of natural sunlight.

The first floor houses 3 bedrooms, including a master suite with a queen-size bed. The other 2 rooms share a bathroom; one has a queen-size bed and the other has bunk beds. On the second floor, you’ll find another large bedroom with 2 single beds, plus the expansive, open-concept living area and fully equipped kitchen.

The apartment looks out over the main boulevard of the city. The Penthouse is located only 200 meters away from the pedestrian shopping street “Rue Gambetta” which is the heart of Saint Jean de Luz and 400 meters away from the Grande Plage (main beach). The fresh market, grocery store, and numerous bars and restaurants are all within a few minutes’ walk of the apartment. The Penthouse also comes with a private parking space, which is a huge plus during the summer. If you want to visit Biarritz or Spain, both are a short 20-minute drive away.

  This is the second time our family has stayed in the Briant's home. We love the location. It is within walking distance to almost everything including the Cote de Basque, the market, and a fabulous boulangerie. The home is well furnished and as ample space for our family. The countryside is beautiful to explore by car or bike and the surfing is great. We look forward to our next visit soon.

  A relaxing, luxurious week in a beautiful house in a perfect loc

  House was wonderful. Tastefully decorated. Quiet and well equipped. Fantastic kitchen. We especially liked the back yard - perfect for breakfast or dinner outside and for reading or relaxing in the sun. The two block walk to the Cotes des Basque beach and to the market, and being down the block from a fabulous bakery all made the location top notch. No need for a car when everything was so easy to get to on foot. Greg from Keyweek was superb - arranging things from surf lessons to dinner reservations to helping direct us to interesting things to do to finding us an osteopath. We felt very well taken care of indeed. A great holiday experience.

  We spent two fabulous weeks in this great house in Biarritz. The house had the best equipped kitchen of any rental we have had, very tasteful furniture, spacious with a great patio in the back. The unit was very comfortable with all the comforts of home. We loved the location, 5 minute walk to the beach and even less to the local market many great little stores selling cheese, bread, fruit, seafood, ready made food. We would love to go back in the future. An added plus was that the house was quiet and peaceful.
