The Cote de Basque beach is at the end of the street and the renowned Biarritz food market is just a 5-minute walk away, as are all the other downtown shops including the best bakery in the city, wine shops, fun bars & bistros. Truro, United KingdomAmazing apartment in the centre of Biarritz
Left on 10/26/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I have stayed in Biarritz a number of times and in various different apartments and this is the best place we have stayed and we will most definitely return.
It is situated in a really nice neighbourhood and only a 5 minute walk into the centre. It also has a parking space which in biarritz is very rare when renting an apartment.
The apartment had everything you could want, even a great collection of dvd's for a night in! The outside space is lovely and I enjoyed a few glasses of wine sat reading my book in the evening. The kitchen had everything! There was even the basics in the fridge when we arrived which was great because we arrived late at night and saved us an early morning trip to the supermarket. The bedrooms are big and beds are very comfortable!
I can honestly say there is nothing that this apartment was missing and we will most definitely be returning next year.
Thank you Wendi and Sassoune -

Brisbane, AustraliaA beautiful apartment in a quiet suburb within walking distance
Left on 08/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Having flown in from Stansted we hired a car and found the apartment very easily. We were met by Sassoune who showed us around and explained the housekeeping rules to us. The apartment is in a beautiful old building and is spacious and very well appointed. We loved the the high ceilings. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and utensils, although we ate out every evening. The bathroom has been updated to a very high specification. The outdoor area is private and is a great eating area. The bedrooms are big and the bed is comfortable. We were able to walk to the centre of Biarritz and the beaches and there are lots of lovely places to eat in the vicinity of the apartment. The beaches are beautiful with soft sand. We visited San Sebastian and St Jean de Luz and loved them both.
We would thoroughly recommend this apartment and would love to visit again. -

This apartment is perfect for a stay in Biarritz: close to the beaches with shops, bakeries and the marvellous food market a short stroll away. The rooms are very clean and spacious and there is a lovely patio area perfect for relaxing and taking the sun. The apartment is also in a quiet and restful location despite being within walking distance of the centre of Biarritz. The hosts are very helpful and friendly without being intrusive - Sassoune gave us a lift to the airport on the morning we left, a very kind gesture that saved us a lot of time and hassle and he also brought us to a local game of pelota - great fun. In summary, one of the best apartments we have ever stayed in.

Portumna, IrelandFantastic Holiday
Left on 06/08/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Myself and my husband had our first holiday away with our 18 month old daughter at the end of May and we had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful apartment in Biarritz. The location was fantastic - a short walk to both the beach and the markets and yet in a quiet and secluded part of the town. There is a park & playground immediately next door which was very welcome to our little girl.
The apartment is very generous in size & is in a gorgeous old building which has been modernised and yet still retains it's charm of high ceilings, timber floors, etc. The bathroom has a fab walk in shower & boasts twin sinks and the kitchen has all the mod cons. The sitting room is very comfortable and we made great use of the flat screen TV & DVD player once our little girl had gone to bed. We were also delighted to find an iPod dock available for our use. The bed is so comfortable, if it wasn't for our little "alarm clock" in the next room I would have happily spent a few lazy mornings in it!
There is a small walled terrace garden out back which we whiled away a couple of hours in each day. It is filled with beautiful flowers, ivy and a couple of trees which give some very welcome shade in the fabulous sunshine. The apartment has an off-street parking space which we availed of, and I imagine is quite prized in this area of Biarritz. I am glad my husband was driving though as the entrance is pretty tight and I think I may have caused sparks if I was behind the wheel.
Wendi & Sassoune are wonderful hosts, very welcoming & brimming with useful information on the surrounding area.
I would highly recommend this holiday rental and believe it would suit people from all walks of life - young couples, retired couples, a group of friends, those with young children and those with teenage children.
We loved our time in Biarritz and in this "home away from home" and very much hope to return! -

Situated in a quiet residential street it's a short walk to all amenities, especially the covered market and beaches. The owners are super helpful and very flexible.

Left on 10/29/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I enthusiastically recommend this rental to anyone looking for accommodations in Biarritz. The apartment is lovely, comfortable and very thoughtfully equipped. I cannot imagine a better location, as you can walk to the beaches, downtown and the market. The hosts went out of their way to help us with any arrangements we wanted to make. We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years in the U.S. and Europe. This was by far the best rental experience we've ever had!

The apartment was everything we expected it to be and it met our every need. We stayed one week with a teenager and an eight year old and we all loved the place and felt quite at home. The little park behind the building was perfect for our son with it's neat playground. And we managed to see a pétlotte game there as well. The apartment was within walking distance to the beach and all the shops, which came in very handy. It is also a great location from which to go visit other towns such as Bayonne and St Sebastian, and all the little spots along the way. If it wasn't for the unusual rain and cool weather the first few days, our visit to Biarritz would have been perfect!

We enjoyed our stay greatly. The apartment was very comfortable, and the shower is heavenly. There were fresh flowers in several rooms, the outside eating area and grill were a lot of fun to use, the kitchen was well-equipped. Our host and hostess provided service beyond reasonable expectations. We were able to walk to many restaurants and other places we wanted to see. We enjoyed the decor and the garden very much.

Harpenden UKA Perfect Holiday location with lovely hosts
Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We chose this apartment as it seemed to have everything we wanted in terms of location and facilities. We were not disappointed. The location is one of the nicest parts of Biarritz with easy access to the beach, shops, restaurants and the town centre. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of books and Dvds. We had two 16 year old girls with us, and although the second bedroom is perfect for young children, the girls loved it! The small back garden is perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine. Although we didn't use it, there is also a barbecue. Wendi was not there during our visit, but Sassoune was a wonderful host, going out of his way to make our stay happy and comfortable. He gave us advice on places to visit and restaurants to try and even took us out for drinks with some neighbours. We were also very pleased to meet Emily who presented us with some amazing chocolate cup cakes which went down very well with the girls. The fact that the apartment has a parking space is a huge bonus, although the gate would be tight for a big car. The apartment is a short walk from the indoor market as Les Halles, which has a mouthwatering array of produce. We are hoping to go back to Biarritz in the winter and will definitely stay here again.

Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This perfect 'home away from home' exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The owner/manager met us at the driveway and we knew immediately that we had made a great choice in renting this apartment in Biarritz. Spacious, immaculate, comfortable and right out of the pages of a decorating magazine are words that best describe this gem. The location could not have been any better, as we were able to walk with strollers to all beaches, shops, downtown, and the famous Biarritz market daily. This apartment was perfect for our two kids (ages 11 months and 4 yrs.) who could safely crawl/walk and play with a fabulous selection of toys and books the owner had so kindly included in the rental. The backyard garden was so well-kept and cozy, making it the perfect space for lounging while the kids napped, meals and a late evening glass of wine. So many other personal touches, like fresh cut flowers, a baby change station, beach toys and loads of information about what to explore in Biarritz and how best to do it, make this rental one of the best our well-traveled family has ever experienced.

We, a retired couple in our 60s, spent six nights in this flat with another retired couple. Our stay exceeded our expectations -- the apartment is well located; Wendi and Sassoune went out of their way to make our stay comfortable; and the weather was perfect. Some of the extra personal touches -- Wendi selected the perfect restaurant for our friends' anniversary, and made a reservation; Sassoune helped us return a rental car to Spain. We enjoyed all the modern conveniences of the apartment - a full-size washer and separate dryer, a gas-fired barbecue, and reliable wifi. We've already recommended the apartment to expats living in Paris.

I just spent last week in Biarittz and stayed in Wendi's beautiful appartment with my parents and two young children aged 3 yrs and 6 mths. All I can say is that we all said wow at the same time when we entered the appartment. It is fabulous and totally a home away from home. Wendi is so friendly and made us feel very at home.
She had thought of everything. My three year old was delighted with the buckets and spades, beach umbrellas and towels and all the toys left in her room to play with. She nearly did an somersault when she went out to the patio outside and saw the playground next door in the park. The playground is well kept and very safe and has two areas, one for toddlers and one for bigger kids with a pirate ship.
My 6 month old slept brilliantly in the travel cot Wendi had set up for her and Wendi had even set up an area where I could change her, with extra towels for her etc. Very thoughtful. She even let me borrow her hand blender so that I could make baby food.
My parents also enjoyed their stay immensely and said that this was the most beautiful and well equipped vacation rental they had ever stayed in and they have travelled quite extensively. They really enjoyed the patio area and we were able to sit outside in the evenings with a glass on wine when the kids had gone to bed.
The location is second to non. We were able to reach the sea front in about 10mins walk with the pushchairs and reach the best beach is about 15-20 mins walk. The street is very quite and yet you can be in the shops and restaurants in no time.
We will definitely be back, I have bored my poor husband to tears about how fab it was, he had to work the week we went unfortunately.
The only thing that I could possibly think of that we would need if we went back would be a small plastic baby bath as although the shower is fab, it can be difficult to wash an infant in the shower. But that is being really picky as Wendi had thought of absolutely everything else!

Right from the beginning of making a reservation request, I knew we had struck gold. Wendi our host, was so open and friendly, answered all our questions, arranged surfboard hire for us, and even helped us out by picking us up from the airport. As for the apartment, it was absolutely beautiful, and had all the creature comforts of home, that you could want for nothing. It felt more like a home, than a holiday rental - a great place to relax and unwind. The location was perfect, only a short stroll to the beach, restaurants and local markets. We really loved the Italian restaurant IL Giardino that Wendi recommended, so much so, that we went back several times. We will definitely be coming to stay again.

We decided quite late in the day to try to find a place in Biarritz for this summer. Many hours of fruitless searching on the internet ( too far away from Biarritz, too expensive or both, most commonly ), I came across this listing by chance and after a chat with the owner, discovered that it was being renovated and would be available. Without much in the way of photos to go on but in large part because of the charming conversation I had with the owner, we decided to go ahead and book. It was a risk well worth taking! An updated ground floor apartment ( obviously done with great care and attention ) in a beautiful period stone building set back from a quiet street right near the centre of Biarritz. A child friendly park is at the rear of the property and with kids, it will come in handy! The markets of Les Halles but 5 mins walk down the hill, made for pleasant morning strolls to get fresh produce and with some great bakers around, we could obtain real freshly baked French bread from real bakeries every morning. Within walking distance of La Grande Plage, our favourite beach quickly became La Cote des Basques which can also be reached on foot or by the free shuttle service which runs through the summer and operates from a stop less than 5 mins walk from the apartment.
Wendi ( who is from the us ) was on holiday when we were there but her husband, Sassoune, was extremely friendly and helpful with useful tips about places to go, eat etc and even introduced me to Jai-Alai ( he is a former professional player ). I even got to see Biarritz Olympique play twice in the Le Top 14!!
We had not been to Biarritz before, and were concerned to find somewhere which allowed us to explore and find out if we liked it without having to commit to a second mortgage to rent a property or stay in a decent hotel. Having done it once, we intend to return and saty here again -

We had a wonderful 10 days in this great apartment in Biarritz. The apartment is superbly located in a quiet area of town but within walking distance of everything you might want/need. This apartment worked really well for us with our young son (13 months) since it is conveniently located next to a great playground (one for older children and one for younger children). The apartment has all the mod/cons you would expect but we, of course, had to bring our own travel cot, booster seat etc. for the baby. The owners where extremely helpful before arriving as well as during our stay, giving us loads of advise in terms of where to go and what to do. We really had a great time and will definitely consider coming back again!

Left on 04/28/2010 for a stay in July 2009
This wonderful pied-à-terre is conveniently located within walking distance of everything delightful to do in Biarritz. Biarritz is a walking town, especially in summer when parking is impossible. The fabulous beaches of the Cote de Basque are down the street, and the shops of downtown are 10 minutes on foot. We would walk every day to one of two outstanding neighborhood boulangeries for morning and evening bread. Walk to dinner, movies, bars, and best of all, the covered marché for cheeses, flowers and fresh French chacuterie.
The apartment is in a beautiful stone turn-of-the-century building, with amazingly thick walls and enormous bright windows. The back looks out over a good-sized park with a kid's playground. We felt safe and comfortable staying here with our family. The apartment offered all the amenities we needed for our stay and was wonderfully appointed with nice artwork and comfortable furnishings.
Most importantly to our experience was the host family. There's a good chance you will become friends for life with these people. Their hospitality and warmth, as well as their knowledge of the area and recommendations, made our visit to Biarritz and the Basque region fun-filled and most memorable. We highly recommend the Abbeberry's for vacationing in Biarritz! -

This is a 1st floor apartment in an historic building in downtown Biarritz. It was comfortable and well appointed with a great private terrace/garden in the back, not that we spent much time in the place. We were to busy walking to all of the great attractions the town has to offer. It was 5 minutes to the best beach I've ever been to and not as crowded as the Grand Plage beach in town. We walked to the market, the bakery, and to shopping comfortably. It was also great that the place had parking because in August, it was crowded with other tourists and street parking would have been a nightmare! My whole family enjoyed the vacation, especially my 6 year old because there was a great park right behind the building! Overall, I've got nothing but amazing memories of this trip and the place we stayed.
