Recently rented the studio at Casale aia. On arrival was greeted by Gabriella a lovely lady. However she does not speak English. Luckily I speak a fair amount of Italian and we managed. She quickly checked us in and gave advice on how to get to supermarkets and restaurants.
The apartment was spacious and the location is truly beautiful, quiet and peaceful. the pool is very big with plentiful sunloungers. It is not heated so we did not use it. May be warmer later on in the year.
Most everything you need is there apart from a kettle. It has a TV but no English channels so ended up playing deal or no deal in Italian!!
Couple of problems...it is at the end of a very badly potholed unmade road which made you fear for the suspension of the hired car. The restaurants etc are a very long way away. In May it appeared to be out of season as most of them were shut. We had to drive 20 mile round trip to eat in the evenings. I have a back problem so the road and the very hard bed made it worse I am afraid.
Also it would have been nice to have some more information in the apartment. Dr's whereabouts, hospital, directions to restaurants and supermarkets etc and maybe details of local sites to see.
Also whilst we were there two lightbulbs in the room were not working and neither was the outside light nor one of the hot rings on the cooker. The boiler also screeched every 15 secs day and night. I did try ringing the owner on the tel nos given but could not get any reply. It would have been nice to meet him.
As I say it is a lovely quiet spot for relaxing by the pool and listening to the birds. Just beware if like me you get hayfever, this is not the place to be in May! Not the owner's problem of course but something to be aware of if you suffer..and boy did I suffer.
We would not stay again because it is so far out and that is not what we wanted so it is my fault for not researching properly but to wind down it is ideal.
