Additional Location Information

Herrenhaus Büttelkow
The Büttelkow Mansion is an oasis of tranquility for individualists, with a peculiar ambiance, partly preserved in original condition, not a designed hotel like any other.
Staying here, you’ll spend dreamy holidays near the Baltic Sea coast and enjoying beautiful nature, time and space to relax. Enjoy the spacious and bright vacation apartments in the historic Büttelkow mansion, situated between the Baltic Sea resort towns Rerik and Kühlungsborn. The idyllic, quiet location and the proximity to the Baltic Sea are a true pleasure.
The three stylish, modern vacation apartment suites in the mansion, Bellavista, Belletage, and Bellevue are individually furnished. From the large windows, you have a view into the mansion’s park with old trees and a charming pond. These suites are different in size and facilities but all the bedrooms are designed for two adults. The spacious Belletage is often used as honeymoon or romantic suite.
This is a family friendly accommodation with beds and chairs for children of various ages readily available. The house is a TV-free haven. Smoking is only allowed outside.
The art workshops in house offer a chance to get creative, and an art trail leads into the nearby Biendorf Forest, which also invites to other extended walks. The Baltic Sea, at a distance of 7 km, can be reached quickly for a quick jump in its waters or a relaxed sunbath on the beach.
Enjoy a wellness, art, family or just a short vacation at the Baltic Sea.
Architecture:
Büttelkow mansion was built 1910-1912 by the banker family Ballin of Oldenburg, according to plans designed by the architect Paul Korff (Landbaubüro Laage). It is a building constructed in eleven axes, with two floors, situated above a high foundational floor.
Location:
Büttelkow with its 20 inhabitants is close by Biendorf, a town near the Baltic Sea. The landscape is characterized by the rolling moraines and the endless fields of yellow rape plants, lying between the seaside resorts Rerik and Kühlungsborn and the Hanseatic cities Rostock and Wismar.
The Büttelkow mansion’s “village” is a pear surrounded by fields and forests, creek and ponds. The Baltic Sea and a swamp lake invite guests to healing baths. On the horizon, one can see the neighboring mansions; it is not far to the “white city by the sea” Heiligendamm or Bad Doberan with its unique cathedral.
