      Awesome!!!

Left on 05/31/2013 for a stay in May 2013

It is an amazing cabin to stay at I didn't have any problems while staying the only thing I would have to complain about is the in the master bathroom the water when you showered switched from very hot to very cold in a matter of seconds but other than that I had a great experience at this cabin

      Nice home in general

Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The rental home was nice, in general. The home was spacious and clean. The home is starting to show a little wear and tear. The outside railings could use a coat of paint. The carpet in the living room area is ripping and needs some attention. The railing upstairs doesn't appear to be up to code (rails are far apart and a child could fit their head through the railing). Concrete in driveway is breaking up. The location of the home was difficult to get to without specific directions and quite far from the main road. Plenty of dishes to use but not many pots and pans.

beautiful on the outside.. average on the inside

Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in February 2012

yes its looks beautiful from the outside, the inside it needed some cleaning, beds are ok not to comfy,(take your own pillows and blankets) found a used condom in one of the drawers. Kitchen was great! it fit all of us and our kids enjoyed the Foosball table. there were plenty of beds and space. it takes about 10-15 min. from the main road just to get to the house, longer at night because you cant see anything. There wasn't much snow so we had to actually leave the house to be in the snow. No view. upon our arrival we did notice some damages, we reported them, in 15 min. the repair man was at the door. The heating wasn't working well, the upstairs shower wasn't working like it should have been so we all used the shower downstairs. I would not stay here again because there wasn't anything to do there or nearby. Everything was 15 min. to 25min. away.

      Nice little stay tucked away

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The house is a little hard to find at first as it is a little away from the main road. Given that we made the reservation a week before Memorial day, we weren't expecting much. But my party of ten were pleasantly surprised by the state of the house. There were clean towels and everything was well maintained. The house was a little dusty, but what do you really expect from a house in the woods, right? The management team easily accommodated us for our one night stay and even gave us a later checkout for free. I called a couple of times with questions before and during our stay and the ladies who I spoke with both were quick to answer all my questions.

Place was nice, but not well stocked

Left on 03/14/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Overall the house was nice. It showed some wear and tear from being a rental, but nothing major. What was major was the lack of stuff. It slept 10 people easily. In my opinion it could easily sleep maybe even 12. There was plenty of space and it was nice. The problem was the disconnect between how many it slept and how many you could feed, sit at the table, etc. First, there were only enough chairs for 6 people to eat at the table. Then there were only enough plates for 8. Sliverware you could piece together for 6 in some utensitls and 8 in others. Lots of plastic cups, but only 4 coffee cups. One very small frying pan was available as well as one medium size sauce pan. If you have a group of 10 people there is no way that is enough to cook. The coffee maker was broken...another major deal. We have used cabins up there before and I have had a group of 18 up there in one of the really big ones and always had more than enough in terms of plates and stuff to cook. Because of that we didn't bring the stuff with us. Sure...we have funny stories to tell about trying to fix eggs for 10 in one frying pan only slightly bigger than a piece of toast, but it was still a pain. And try to have a happy peaceful morning with 8 adults and 2 kids without coffee on a cold morning...or any morning for that matter. If I need to haul all my own cooking stuff up there, I want to know and it is probably going to alter the reservations I make.

Bottom line...place was nice enough, but not exactly worth the hassle of all the other shortcomings. If you have a group bigger than four, you have to take a ton of stuff with you and if that is the case, you might as well rent another cabin.

First Cabin Rental - Great Experience

Left on 01/20/2012 for a stay in January 2012

I found the process of renting/booking the cabin painless. May do again but the process of planning and getting people to commit to go to big bear is another story :P. Check in was simple but the place was hard to find, in the dark. Our navigation said we were there but it was actually another 300 yards (about 4 houses and a street down). Got out of the car and went door to door to read the house number. I thought I entered the number wrong but our friends navigation did the same thing. But again the process was simple the and the cabin was what I expected. More pictures of the cabin would be a big plus! I was a little unsure if I should book this particular cabin based on 3 pictures. The location of the cabin was not what I expected. Because it seem deep into the neighborhood with lots of turns we did not go out to eat. Instead we got pizza delivered so we didn't have to bother maneuvering the streets. Highly enjoyed the Foosball table :)

      Moonridge cabin

Left on 11/19/2011 for a stay in November 2011

We really enjoyed our stay. Overall, the cabin was great. We loved that there was ample parking and plenty of space.

There were a few small problems however. First, it was nearly impossible to cook anything in the kitchen. The temperature gauge on the stove is broken so that one does not know how hot the stove actually is when cooking. In addition to that, there are only two small pans to cook on the stovetop with. This became a bigger deal because we could not use the oven. The coffee pot stopped working after only one pot was brewed. After that, the pot would not even turn on again. Finally, second evening of using the fireplace, the cabin began to get quite smoky. So, after that, we did not use it again.

We enjoyed our stay at Crescenta Heights. It is located in a part of Big Bear we have never stayed before. We enjoyed the area and the cabin's amenities were nice. Needs new carpet in the living area but overall was nicely kept. We had a peaceful, relaxing visit.
