The cabin is in need of a facelift very dated. Also there was a ton of cobwebs all over. The neighbor also called repeatededly that my kids were sledding on his property. He went out and put signs all over the trees. There was no fence or marked property lines. Read more
Thank you for your review and we will be sending housekeeping over to get the cabin rid of cobwebs. However those pesky spiders feel at home in Big Bear and love to make those cobwebs in the cabins.

Great bones ... Needs maintenance
Left on 08/01/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | Beverly Dagan
The house is lovely with an open concept floor plan. Beautiful rock fireplace in the living room, lots of windows and comfy sofas! The kitchen is upgraded, fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. huge dining table and eating area! The bedrooms are average and the bathrooms poor. The blankets were torn as were the shower curtains. The chairs and sofa cushions were also torn. The pool table is so close to the wall you cannot make a shot. Only half of the jets in the jacuzzi worked. There was no light near the grill for evening cooking. Lastly, there are 30 steps from the street to the house and the solar motion sensors did not work!! Very dangerous at night. We sent an email to the leasing agency regarding the safety issues and never got a response. If this house received some TLC it has the potential to be 5 star!!! The house has great bones just needs some maintenance. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We just wanted to take a moment to update you and let you know that we are in the process of fixing every issue you mentioned and that we do value your feedback we do hope you will be back to visit very soon and maybe even again at the Moos Haus so you can see all the updates first hand!

I recently stayed in the cabin called Moos Haus. The cabin itself is a little run down and could you some touch ups to the exterior paint. The deck was a little scary to be on at times because it squeaked and creeked. There was no warning about the four flights of stairs that you have to take to get to the cabin... that would have been nice to know. The interior was nice a had a very home-like feel. Over-all it was a fun trip and Moos Haus was a nice place to stay in.
this cabin is fun

Great stay at Ponderosa

At last minute we were switched from Moose Haus to the Ponderosa due to maintenance problems. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa. Nice open concept floor plan, plenty of beds (sleeps 8 in beds and 2 on couch). Kitchen well stocked, 2 bathrooms, walking distance to slopes, gas fireplace, jacuzzi, quiet neighborhood, powerful heater. A lovely accommodation. Cool Cabins also refunded me very promptly on the firewood I didn't use as well as the lack of pool table. Would definitely stay at Ponderosa again. Never got to see Moose Haus.

issues at Moose Haus
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012 | Daniel Kells
We were disappointed with our stay at Moose Haus. The pool table had only one stick that was broken with the tip duct taped. The pockets on the pool table had holes, which caused the balls to fall to the floor. The beds were very uncomfortable (saggy), no firewood, floor was dirty. There were no controllers for X-box. The house could also use a coat of paint inside and out and some basic upkeep and repairs Read more
We are very sorry to hear that your encountered some issues during your stay. We wanted to take the time to let you know that maintenance has replaced the pool cues and are taking a look at the side pockets on the pool table. The owner of the home has been informed of the issues with the beds, and game console controllers. Thank you for your business; we hope to see you in the near future.

Deceiving pictures, but decent stay
Left on 07/01/2012 for a stay in June 2012 | Peter
Excited about a trip to Big Bear we booked the "best bang for your buck" cabin that we found. This was it. Well.. The cabin is located pretty far from everything. The commute is a little bit of a pain. The cabin itself was nothing like the pictures. Very old, very.. rickity, and almost dangerous in some parts. There was a large kitchen which was very nice to have, decent hot tub, BBQ that caught on fire because of being so greasy ( we called and told them to replace it ), fireplace that we didn't use, and lots of places for people to sleep if you have a large party.
We had a ridiculous noice complaint at 9:03pm! Some guy from Big Bear Cool Cabins knocked on the door and was extremely rude to us. He said that we had a noise complaint and that the police would be out next if we didn't quiet down. There were 4 of us playing board games. No drinking, no kids, nothing that was loud except for the laughter of my wife, our two friends and me playing Monopoly! Did the guy get the complaint and drive all the way up the mountain in 3minutes???!! (noise regulations are 9pm and he showed up at 9:03) Rude rude rude and totally uncalled for! I could totally understand if it was a bunch of kids playing beer games with music blasting, but we were just playing a board game with 4 people!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin is significantly cheaper than anything else that sleeps this many people so that's a pretty good buy if you have a large party. Please note that the cabin itself is not large, but does have a lot of bedding setups. Read more
Thank you for the favorable review of Big Bear Cool Cabins and Moose Haus. Upon receipt of your review we did send maintenance to the home to address the issue noted with the barbecue, and to do a general walk through of the home to ensure safety. We apologize for the issues you encountered due to complaints and noise level; unfortunately whenever we receive any city complaint call we do have to respond immediately. Thank you once again we look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Our family has been going to Bear Big for the past 14 years. Every March we celebrate my son's birthday in Big Bear. We have rented many cabins and by far this has been the best ever! I would totally recommend this cabin. In the future I would definitely book this cabin again

The house was great. There was no complaints with the house itself. The only downfall was how far away from everything it was. I thought it would be a lot closer to the slopes and city area, but it was very tucked away; which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It was confusing to get to. This was the only negative part about it. Also, the key was not in the lock box where Big Bear Cool Cabins said it would be. It was late when we got to the cabin and very dark, we had to go all the way to the rental office to pick up the keys. This wouldn't have been bad if the cabin wasn't difficult to get to. Other than those two things, the trip and cabin was great!
Great family vacation, ... but average cabin

Unit: Moose Haus
Start date: 02/03/2012
End date: 02/05/2012
Reservation number: 218033
Things wrong with the cabin:
- Wax on the dining room
- No lock on the spa
- Food disposer not working
- 2 rooms without electricity
- Some DVD cases without the movie
- Blender tap incomplete
- Stairs to the cabin need repairs
- Used log inside chimeney
- And more little things
If you fix the little things with the cabin, i would recommend, otherwise, i would not recommended this cabin.
The rest, great family vacation. Read more

Cool cabins staff provided courteous check-in. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and family friendly. Nice, quiet area with a great view and a nice slope for the kids. Unit needs a little tender loving care and a new set of cookware. The three flight stairway provided a great cardio vascular workout.

The pictures on the website of Moose Haus didn't do it justice! We went for a girls college church retreat & everyone was so amazed when they walked in! It's so nice & clean! The kitchen is big with a large dining table. There is a pool table which is fun & sleeps so many people. The spa didn't heat up though. But overall we loved it!

This cabin was not that bad just a drag to get up and down those states which makes me regret getting it. Also, you happen to not be alone in that house at night if you catch my drift people :( Other than that it has everything a cool cabin would have such as pool table, jakoosie, and etc. Had some great memorable times that I won't forget!

Cabin was not what i expected. Cable to me means working cable boxes, movie ordering, etc. It was a really nice location, but as stated the ammenities were sub par. maybe we were just spoiled by staying at 2 alternate locations with Cool Cabins, but this one was not what i expected. I really wish the cabin description would've been a little more in depth...ie: that it was up 2 flights of stairs to get to the front door. We also found door hardware around the house on the floor(screws, door locks). On another note, if you are looking for an awesome location and plan on spending most of your time on the slopes and not bringing kids...this is good fit! I would recommend this to my brother who snowboards and is out the house all day...for my sister who has 3 young children...probably not. Read more

All of the issues you ran into during your stay have been addressed and are in the process of being remedied. Great cabin- well equipped and laid out-loved it! Our only challenge was the weather. It is at the top of the hill and the side roads didn't get plowed unitl late morning or afternoon. We had chains on a Navigator- but we had a foot of snow. Driveway didn't get plowed and we were stuck or sliding around. Street plow just pushed snow up into driveway-driveway plowed 5 days later on day we left.
Awesome Place to stay and a very clean and prime location

We loved our Stay here even though it was a bit expensive but after checking in, it was a great experience. This location has its own little slop for families with kids and we did not have to take to the kids to paid sliding slopes. Would definitely recommend this Cabin.

Moose Haus was as advertised, with a functioning jacuzzi, pool table, nice rock fireplace, etc. We did Christmas there and it was very nice. The firewood and groceries were delivered as requested. The heater worked, etc. If I were to improve it, it would be in these areas: the dvd players were not hooked up, and did not work well when we did get them connected. Only one bulb worked in the kitchen overhead fixture, the rest needed to be replaced. The gas stove was great! Worked very well. The extra blankets in the closet were appreciated. As far as snow removal, someone showed up after we arrived (late afternoon), and half-heartedly scraped some snow off, but left the ice, which was dangerous to walk on. We hacked off as much as we could; but I think the agreement was that it should have been cleared for our arrival, then we maintain it afterwards. The jacuzzi guy came to do maintenance while we were there the next day or so, and was surprised someone was staying there. Don't know if that's good or bad, just FYI. We all got swimmer's rash from the jacuzzi. All in all, it was a good experience, even with the glitches. Everyone had a good time. the pool table was great for the young adults/teens. Couches comfortable. I'd get a new mattress for the big bed. Pretty area to walk in and close enough to the slopes and downtown for the kids.
