      Nice Comfortable Cozy Little Place

Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013

First, dealing with Big Bear Cool Cabins was a wonderful experience! They were pleasant, informative and very fast, we had our cabin chosen and were on our way in minutes. The cabin was not on the main road, so that was a plus for us, however it is very close to neighbors.

The Good: The living room was spacious, couches, chairs and beds were all quite comfortable. The two bedrooms are upstairs (one with a king and a single and one with a queen and a single). This was great for privacy, one room on either side of the stairway. The kitchen was nice with a large table. There were a few little toiletries, coupons and a couple tiny snack bags left out for guests, and that was a nice welcoming touch.

The Not So Good: It was unsettling not to have security locks on the inside of the doors, especially knowing that the keys have been in a lock box regularly. Another thing that made us all a bit uncomfortable was a notice immediately as we walked in telling us that the cabinets belong to the owners and that you are not to get into them or there will be additional charges. It was very vague and we were second guessing if we were allowed to use this dish or that item as some things are in cabinets. The areas that someone does not want you to get into should simply be locked.

Overall, we were very glad that we chose this cabin at the last minute, rather than a hotel, for us it was worth the extra money, for the extra space and coziness and the views of the beautiful trees outside the windows.

      Relaxing stay

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Everything was great except the fact that the refrigerator was not working. Other than that my stay at this cabin was relaxing and joyful.

      Exceeded my Expectations

Left on 02/06/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Checking in/out was very convenient. Upon entering, it was very cozy and comfortable. Some of the furniture, appliances, and flooring were a bit dated, but that was definitely not a deal breaker for us.

It was quite difficult to find this cabin in the dark however because the numbering of the other houses on the street were nowhere near the address listed for this house.

The heater was quite difficult to control because the thermostat was old and didn't happen to respond to any changes in temperature that we set.

Other than that, it was very suitable for us and I would definitely consider coming back here.

      Cozy Cabin

Left on 01/28/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Refridgerator and freezer never quite worked properly, but that did not put a damper on the enjoyment of this cozy little cabin. We spent a wonderful Christmas here and would do it again.

This was a good place to bring dogs since it was more spacious than a hotel. However it was so hard to find in the dark!!!

      Cute, cozy cabin

Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The cabin was perfect. It was easy to get to, a couple of blocks up from Big Bear Blvd. The roads were icy, so it was nice that the cabin was not too far up the road but far enough away that it was not right on the busy street. It was cute and cozy. There were a bunch of Dvds and games to entertain us. Overall, the cabin was clean, though there were some spider webs. The heater made the whole cabin nice and warm. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and had everything we needed. There were paper towels, dish soap, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, hand soap, trash bags, sponges. Outside, the ground was covered in snow, so the kids were able to snow play right outside. The Village is about a 5 minute drive away. We really enjoyed our stay.

      some good/some bad

Left on 07/21/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Cabin was very clean and tidy. spacious enough to accomodate a large family (if you used the couches too). Biggest downfall? The refrigorator that never got cold. Ruined all our food. We followed the directions posted on the fridge but come on...that thing is history. Somewhat quiet location.

      not bad

Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Overall the cabin was nice. It was rustic and has seen plenty of use, but overall was not a bad value for the time we spent. The cleanliness was not up to our expectations, with many cobwebs and quite a bit of dust. To our surprise we found mouse droppings in both closets, so needless to say we did not unpack our suitcases...but we never saw or hard any unwelcome guests. There was no extra toilet paper or paper towels - so we had to make a trip to the store for those.
Next time I will spend a little more (20%-30%) and get a little nicer of a vacation rental.

      Great but with a glitch

Left on 01/13/2011 for a stay in January 2011

loved the cabin and location... even the price was good.

Unfortunately, the place was filthy. It was obvious that the place hadn't been cleaned in a while... dirty tissues in the bed ( we couldn't sleep on the filthy sheets )... there were dirty underware in the bathroom... caked on candy on the window sills... etc... it was disgusting!
