Check in was a breeze. It wasn't a problem at all and went very smoothly. As far as the cabin was concerned, it was pretty well stocked with dishes and cooking essentials. Some of them were a little unclean, but overall I couldn't complain. The game room was cool, but we never used it. My real only complaint was the heater downstairs didn't seem to click on correctly and the mattresses were atrocious. I know renting a cabin I don't expect a five star hotel, but the mattresses on the bunkbeds were awful and then the queen downstairs was pretty miserable. The second floor bathroom didn't flush that great, but overall I would stay there again!

Anaheim, CAGreat Big Bear Experience!
Left on 08/15/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We headed up to Big Bear for an extended weekend. This beautiful cabin is close enough to the town, but far enough away to feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The cabin itself is roomy and comfortable. Plenty of sleeping area for six adults, and we could have accomodated some kids (but it was very quiet without them!) The cabin was very clean, and well stocked with supplies. The kitchen appliances seemed to be new and we loved the flat screen TV in the living room. We enjoyed having the windows opened, and sat outside enjoying the afternoon breeze. We'd definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the activies of Big Bear Lake. The house could have been a little cleaner. There was dirt lying against the walls and the stove top had dirt lying on it. Chairs on the deck would have been nice to be able to enjoy sitting outside. The quality of the mattresses were absolutely horrible. We brought an air mattress and chose to sleep on that instead of the mattress. The house was definitely fun for the kids with the pool table and fuse ball table. The kitchen was stocked well with items needed for cooking, which was awesome since we ate in the entire week. Overall the house met all our needs and was very enjoyable to stay in. I think if one thing was to be upgraded it would be to get chairs for the deck and definitely new matresses! The price was great for the room availabel in the house.

CaliforniaOnly Place to Stay to Snow
Left on 03/26/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Upon arrival on property, I immediately tried to use my sled just beside the house. It was fun and no need to anywhere else to experience snow slides. It had 2 ft of snow that night and we enjoyed staying inside since it has cable tv, foosball, darts and billiards plus lots of vhs tapes to keep the kids busy. The house has one non working heater luckily we brought one. The next day it was difficult for our cars to go out of the driveway as the snows was really thick. We called the check in counter for shovel and immediately after 15mins we got it. The location is near a camp where a loader helps in clearing the snow. The operation of the loader helps us clear the driveway. We put in our tire chains and arranged our car in a way that the front of the car is facing the road. A reminder to put the tire chains during parking in case there is a heavy snow the next day. We wanted to go to a ski mountain but the house is better. One of us sled on the road which is 25 meters. We had all the time to sled and its free since it is on the propery or on the road.
The house has enough amenities in the kitchen for cooking or grilling. It has 3 full bedroom and 2 bathrooms. 2 tv's and lots of space for the kids to play while parents are watching tv or enjoying the table games.
Though a bit pricey, the added snow fun just besides the property saved us more. -

Great location but the house needs work. everything is upstairs so if you dont like stairs this is not the house for you. the first floor was freezing because there is no central heating which made it difficult to enjoy the game room. the shower downstairs was nasty i cant picture anyone setting a foot in it so we all had to use the one uptairs. i removed a mattres from the top bunkbed to set it on the floor for one of my kids and it had huge holes on one side they just flipped it over. there is no pride in ownership just a rental.

Cabin was definitely worth our money. We spent the weekend there to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends and it was totally worth it. There were tons of blankets, towels, and all that type of stuff. Beds were comfortable. Some of the reviews on here say the upstairs TV needs to be updated. Obviously this issue was addressed because there was a new large. Lcd flat screen TV upstairs. My only recommendation would be that more toilet paper and trash bags be supplied. Other than that we had an excellent experience.

Big Bear Vacations provide extremely courteous and polite customer service. The cabin was ideal and fit our needs perfectly (especially the price). We loved the coziness and location of the cabin (very close to the convention center for Oktoberfest). It had absolutely beautiful surroundings (considering it wasnt winter *no snow yet*). The cabin was full of every amenity imaginable (even board games!) The only complain is the cabin was full webs and the heater did not work at first, but someone was sent out immediately to solve that problem. Overall we will definetly be renting the cabin again in the near future.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. The cabin was clean and there were plenty of fun activities to pass the time. The only recommendation would be to get rid of the VHS movies and replace them for Dvds. The TV upstairs also needs some updating. Other than that, it was fabulous! We would definitely do it again!

The city of big bear is beautiful. We rented this place because it was very reasonable. This cabin was built in the 1960's and has remained in the 1960's. This cabin was also for sale. We settled in then went to the local market. Upon our return, a relator was showing the place. Very upsetting.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience a realtor caused you during your stay. Normal policy states that they are to call us to confirm no one has occupied the unit, unfortunatley this policy failed. The realtor is not one of ours but has since been contacted and reprimanded. Thanks so much and again we sincerely apologize.

We loved the house. The pool table was alot of fun and everything was clean and lovely. The only suggestion if I had to improve something would be a newer TV. But whose there for the TV ?? I also thought it was odd that there were no cupboards for food but thats a minor detail. We loved it. WE loved the wrap around deck and the stain glass windows too. Thanks for your service, we will come again.

The service I received in the check in & check out was great, have nothing to complain about. The stay at Sugar & Spice was a perfect spot in a dead end street....we were able to hang out outside and slide the lil slope almost next to it. It was perfect!

Murrieta CAGame Room NOT what we expected
Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We were willing to spend a lot more money on a cabin that offered a game room. But once we got there, and we attempted to utilize the game room we noticed HUGE obstacles! For one, you can not shoot a game of pool with out cue tips for the pool sticks, it was ridiculous. They had medical tape wrapped around one pool stick, & that was the best working one. 2nd, the dart board was electronic, but had no ac adapter for power no where in sight, so we scrambled to find paper & a pen to try to keep our scores. 3rd once we were ready to play darts, we realized that all of the dart tips were broken. We ran out to the local Kmart & had to purchase our own darts etc. Which isn't what we were expecting at all, additional costs?!?!?! We paid $800 already. The game room was the #1 reason we chose to rent this cabin, & we were unable to utilize it. If you advertise a game room please make sure you inform the next tenants to bring their own cue sticks, darts, tips, & score keeper.
