Two bedroom (one is a loft), one bath cabin with a wood burning stove fireplace, cable TV, DVD player, washer/dryer, and full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pan, and more. Deck with barbecue and pet friendly with fenced yard.
Loft has a queen bed.
Bedroom one has a twin bed and trundle (can be converted to a king bed).
Living room has a sleeper sofa.
Short drive to the lake, Village, restaurants, and more. Sleeps 4. Parking for 2 vehicles.

Everything was perfect except one thing. The family love the mini vacation we had here at big bear. The house in general was clean and the overall service was as promised. The house was perfect, the kids liked that it was on a slope, we plowed two snow lanes and we played in the snow slaying down all weekend. The Location of the house was perfect it was on the side of Big bear we came up from and it was easy to find. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and very friendly too. Like my title reads I would rent this place again. And the one thing that didn't make this a 5 star is that when we were ready to go to bed, It's a habit of mine to pull back the covers (to inspect for anything) and the sheets had multiple long and short hairs. It seem like the sheets were not washed or not washed correctly (if that makes any sense). It didn't let me sleep in peace, but like I said I would definitely come back next year. The family had fun, we made great memories here and would recommend this place to anyone.

Just recently stayed here for 4 nights.
At first reading some of the reviews I was a bit uneasy seeing everyone complaining about the furniture and the couch.
Yes there's a couple things that needed attention but that didn't matter to us.
Loved how they have everything on hand and it's so cozy.
Both of my kids loved it, especially having a big yard and horse shoes to play with.
I do recommend this cabin.
Our overall experience was great and planning to stay there againg this November.

We really enjoyed this cabin, very much. The cabin was clean and provided good space for the our Dog to play and have fun.The cabin is up to date and kitchen is decent size to make meals.This is a distance from downtown so don't depend on quickly gettingto any eateries or entertainment. The supplied firewood is convenient however expensive to use so I do suggest supplying your own, if possible. There is a slight noise from the local airport however the serenity from the area more than makes up for it. One additional item is that the couches are not the most comfortable. It appears they have been beaten up and attempted to fix with plywood...need for new furniture. I would stay here again, especially for the price point and ability to have pets on property.

Dirty carpets, torn up sofa and horrible beds.
One of the worst places I have ever stayed at. The house is a cozy place but the owner has not spent a dime on it for ages. Carpets are old and disgusting, the sofa is so old and torn up that they had to put a plywood under the cushions so you don't sink in it.
Guest room Mattresses have so much mileage on them that my kids both woke up with backaches the next day. The owner needs to spend some money and bring the place back to life. Until then stay away from this dump.

We rented this cabin after seeing that it had many good reviews. This cabin might be fine for 2 or 3 people, it was advertised that it sleeps 6. The sofa bed is broken, is very old and dirty, (the mattress is ripped in several spots) and has plywood holding up the couch cushions. It's barely useable as a couch, but is not at all useable as a sofa bed.
The folding dining set is also broken, and when I got home and read through the older reviews, I see that another reviewer complained about these broken items over a year and a half ago, with a promise from Cool Cabins that these repairs were being taken care of.
We had to go to the Cool Cabins office to change cabins since we did not have enough places for everyone to sleep. We were given a different cabin, but it was still a hassle to have to pack up everything for 6 people and move to a new location.
If the owner would spend a few bucks to make the necessary repairs and replace pillows and blankets, it wouldn't be a bad little place to stay. I would recommend bringing your own bedding, the blankets have to be 25 years old and are pretty disgusting.
The cabin is pet friendly and the yard is a good size, so the dog was happy.

The house was super cozy and perfect for a birthday weekend away. The dogs loved the big fenced in yard. House was clean and close to the lake. Would definitely rent this cabin again. It felt like a touch of back home during the summers on the lake in Maine.

Had a great time at the Sherwood Chalet this past weekend. Stayed there with a group of 4. Found everything we needed in terms of kitchen amenities. Grilled burgers using the gas grill on the deck in the back of the house. Would definitely come back!

when we arrived to the cabbin is was cozy and ready for our stay. We all loved the decor and its location. this was the very first time my family and I had booked a cabbin for a full weekend in Big Bear and we absolutely loved it. We are planning to return sometime this year angain and will be sure to book Sherwood Chalet if it is available.

We will definitely rent sherwood chalet again. Its in a perfect location. Its warm, cozy and roomy. Enough space on the yard to play in snow. We had no problem with check in or out. We Bbq'd in the snow with easy access to kitchen. We ate comfortably around the center table while watching movies.
The tv and surround sound were great. Board games were available. Enough room for storing your clothes. Plenty of pots,pans, bowl,plate and utensils.I can go on and on. Plenty of hooks on wall for jackets, scarves, beanies etc. Walking distance to small market. Absolutely wonderful vacation. Thank you
Need pegs for the board game " trouble "(my favorite).

Called up Bbcc after work on a Friday night about getting a last minute cabin deal. My request was that it be clean and not too small. What I got was an amazing weekend away from busy la, up in the mountains filled with snow. Our cabin was immaculate when it came to being clean. Plenty of space to move around the cabin and not bump into my fiancee or our two dogs who were super excited with all the room out in the fenced yard. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a great breakfast in the morning and the grill worked just fine when we grilled up some burgers on Sunday before heading back home. The area is as quiet as a whisper at night really giving you that 'escape' feel. Couldn't be happier with my stay.
P.S. Anna was an angel when we lost the key in the snow outside the check in desk. Thanks again anna.

This rustic chalet was charming with all the comforts of home. The team at Big Bear Cool Cabins did a great job helping us find the right cabin. Nice location for a quiet get away & close to restaurants, shops,and the lake.
Areas for improvement - Sofas need replacing or re-upholstering (sagging), Fridge did not have a dial knob to control temp, drapes were a bit dusty. We still had a great time though! Would return again..Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 10/31/2011

The accommodations are very comfortable and there's a well-stocked store around the corner. The yard is well-fenced provided you lock the gate, and has plenty of space for dogs to run.

We had such a great stay! This cabin had everything you have at home(accept ziplock bags and coffee)! But everything else. There was lots of blankets and towels allthough we brought our own blankets. There was even a clean dogbed outside! Comfort for everyone. We had to move some wires around old fashion like to either watch the dvd player or listen to music. We brought our bikes(one with a childs seat)but it was not very safe riding to the lake. That was something we did not like. We had to load the bikes and drive to the lake first. Everything else was amazing!! Dont expect to stay in a hotel suite...this is a cabin in the wilderness! The neighborhood is beautyful and peaceful with lots of cabins. A little store really really close with everything you could need! A nice big fenced in yard. If you have a dog and are from the city, your fido might appreciate this!! We love the cabin and would surey come back. Maybe for us though, we want to be closer to the lake so we can ride our bikes safley! One more thing, the washer and dryer was sooo convenient having a one year old and all! Soap, dryer sheets,what more could we ask for!

My husband and I rented this cabin after we decided to stay in big bear an extra night. The cabin is cute and clean but could use some updating. The main reason we chose this cabin was because we wanted one with a fenced yard for our two dogs. The yard is plenty big but needed some upkeep in the back. There were some overgrown weeds and the fence was lifted, so a small dog could escape easily. The other issue I had was the fence was kinda flimsy in the front, so someone had to be outside and watch the dogs. It would be very easy for a dog to escape if they're strong or they dig. Overall, this is a nice cabin.

We love the classic cabin feel of Sherwood Chalet. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Our two daughters love playing in the loft and the bedroom downstairs is perfect for them to sleep. The kitchen is well-stocked and cozy right next to the living area. The decor is cute and couches comfy. Tv could be updated. We love Sherwood Chalet.

The cabin was perfect and very close to the location of the softball tournament of which is the reason we were there. Being that this was the first time we've been there we are definitely looking forward to doing it again soon and this time to relax and enjoy the stay and do other things.

Our experience at the Sherwood Chalet was terrible! $310 for one night and we would have rather slept in our cars!! 1. Dog hair everywhere which made us have allergies 2. The sleeper couch was broken so 2 of our guests were stuck sleeping on the couch and on top of that they did not have any blankets or pillows to use - just 1 sheet each! 3. The trundle bed was broken so our guests had to sleep on twin beds rather then the king bed that it was supposed to be. 3. there was no propane in the bbq - we bought meat thinking we were going to BBQ and were not able to since there was no propane. 4. The table was broken so we had to be careful when using it as the legs were falling apart.
We were very unsatisfied and when we called to get at least 1/3 compensation back the very best you could do was only $50! We felt this was very unfair because 2 of our family members basically did not get a good nights sleep since they were on the couch with all th dog hair, no pillows, and no blankets! Their should be signs in the house to indicate that if there are any issues to call and also during check-in it should be mentioned.
There are many other cabins in Big Bear and I have always used you guys, but after this experience I don't think I will. We don't feel that you really cared about our satisfaction. I understand this is a business and you need to make money but if this is just a once in a ":blue moon" occurance, then I am sure that giving us fair compensation would not zero out your bottom line.
