los angelesWonderful and beautiful.

I loved the house, it was so beautifully covered in snow and a great place to stay with family. The house was very comfortable and I loved how there was alot of pillows and blankets available. The house was well equipped with heater and the bathroom was very clean. The only bad thing was the location, it was up hill and it took us over 2 hours to get to the house because the car wouldnt go up even with chain.

Thank you for the helpful review of Bear Lookout. We’re so happy to see you enjoyed your winter time stay in Big Bear Lake. We’re sorry to hear about your difficulties during your stay. However, it is common during the winter here in the San Bernardino National Forest to experience difficulties with ice and snow since many snow storms can be continual and it is the cities responsibility to ensure that streets and sidewalks are clear for usage. Thus we are legally not permitted to clear any streets or sidewalks for our guests. If you are contemplating a summer time trip to Big Bear, our Vacation Planners are able to help your find the right home for your future vacation.

Los Angeles, CAA quiet and relaxing getaway
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Our family(myself, my husband, our 6 yr old and our twin 6 mo old infants) had a great stay in Big Bear and would absolutely stay here again. We chose to stay in Moonridge because of the incredible value during the summer months plus it is minutes from the lake yet remote at the same time. There were very few people in the area at the time which was my ultimate goal. I love that the house is pet friendly because I hate to leave our pup at home. He is a part of our family and would rather not board him or leave him at home to be looked after by neighbors. The house is small but quaint. It could definitely use a few more items in the kitchen (ie glasses) but that was not a big deal either. We brought paper goods with us because we planned on going on picnics, which we did. I was a little disappointed in the outside property maintenance. There was a lot of cable wiring hanging outside of the house landing in a pile on the ground in the driveway and a lot of cinder blocks, large rocks and wood strewn about. I would not let my children nor my dog be outside alone because I just didn't feel like it was a safe environment. I get that this property is most likely used more in the winter when snow is covering the area but I think a little more care and consideration should be put into the outside since it does get rented in the summer. As far as Big Bear Vacation goes, they were great. It was easy to book, easy to check in/out and found no reason to complain. Plus they gave a nice little gift bag when we arrived that included playing cards, spf chapstick, maps, coupons and so on which really came in handy. We played cards together every night after dinner and took a lake tour one day. This was our first trip to Big Bear and we will go back soon.

Thank you for taking time to review the Bear Lookout and your comments on your stay. The cable wiring has been removed, the cinder blocks have been piled neatly, and the wood is on the wood pile. The owner of Bear Lookout is a new owner of this lovely retreat and is continuing to make improvements and upgrades on this vacation getaway. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Big Bear!!

Pasadena, CACute cabin but ...
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This is a darling cabin and would have been perfect for our family if there had not been a moth infestation, which caused us to switch cabins after the first night. The office told us there had been a few complaints of moths in other cabins, so we think this may have been due to the time of year or the cabin not being used in awhile. The cabin has a nice view of the ski slopes and is located in a quite area. There was a cute loft that the children really liked. We wished we could have stayed.
