      okay..

Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My family & I went to Big Bear Resort on January 26, 2013 for a trip. So we chose to stay at this place. When we first arrived the place look nice but when I walk in the cabin I notice that the cabin was a little dirty especially the stair way. There were hair and dirt on the stair case which I was a little disappointed since I spent a lot for just one night there. Moreover, the game room wasn't as great as I thought it would be because some game system were either broken or some pieces were missing. However, the kitchen was good because it had everything I need it and the master bathroom was amazing. So other else then
the place being dirty & pieces were missing for the game room this place was
      perfect for 12 people.

      Not Good!

Left on 02/06/2013 for a stay in January 2012

This is my second time renting with Cool Cabins and while our first stay was excellent, our second was terrible! First, when we arrived there was trash in front of the cabin and the inside wasn't very clean. Second, the heating system was shooting out cold air and one of the restrooms wasn't operating properly (the office people said to ignore the red light on the dial which reads "call the office if the light is red"). We called the main office and they sent out a maintenance tech. The maintenance tech wasn't able to fix the heater so they had to send out a heating company. This took approximately 4 hours away from what should had been our vacation and it was freezing and uncomfortable in the cabin. At approximately $500/night, you should expect some quality assurance and better service! **side note: We will not be using Cool Cabins again.

Beautiful Views from a not so clean house

Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The house was perfect for what we needed. Great Views! However, cleaning could have been better. The first thing I noticed going up the stairs was hair attached to the carpet. Dusting the furniture would have been nice as well. You pay so much and expect the house to pass the white glove test. At least I do. Especially knowing that many people go through that house. Minimum expectation: Clean house!

      It was ok

Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012

G&G; retreat was ok, when we first got there we had to call and have the downstairs shower fixed. It was hard to keep the downstairs warm without it being too hot upstairs. The day we left as we were cleaning up dishes we realized the garbage disposal was leaking everywhere under the sink.(had to call and let someone know they needed to send maintence out again) It was a little too far from town.

We are sorry to hear that your stay with G&G Retreat and Big Bear Cool Cabins was not enjoyable. Upon receipt of your review we did inform the owners of the property of the issue with the heat upstairs and downstairs for further consideration. On the day of checkout you did call and report that there was a leak coming from the garbage disposal and that issue has been resolved. Many of our guests love the fact that G&G retreat is off the beaten path and is more secluded. We are sorry that this property seemed a bit too secluded for your liking. Thank you for taking the time to share the details of your stay; we hope you will use our company in the near future.

Just What We Were Looking for...

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in January 2012

There wasn't as much snow as we wished there would be, but we found plenty to do in this house. Great for bbq's and cooking. We really enjoyed the game room. Everyone had there own space to relax in. Enjoyed movies in the spacious living room. The master bedroom was fabulous. The hot tub in the bathroom had not been used in a while because it throw out some dirt.Regardless the water was perfect temperature. It was great to just jump in bed after a long day. I would come back to this home. It was a little far from where the snow areas were but that gave us some more privacy. It was a plus!

Nice House, but poor heating, water and help from rental company

Left on 01/04/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We stayed at G&G; for 3 days between Christmas and New Year 2012. The house was about 10 minutes drive from market/ski resort, so farther than we are used to in past years, but not a problem. The living area is nice with a great view of Baldwin Lake. Plenty of space for the two families staying there. The living area is laid out as a "big-room" with shared kitchen and living space - we like that.

The sleeping areas are not so good however. The master bedroom on the 2nd floor (same as the living area) is spacious, but the bathroom is oddly laid out, with the toilet in a super tight separate room and no door to the bathroom - inconvenient. The 3 other bedrooms on the 1st floor have plenty of sleeping space, but were freezing cold most of the night - we never figured out a good way to heat them because the hot air stays on the 2nd floor. The pillows were in poor shape, so a little uncomfortable.

The house has some equipments to keep water pressure high and the septic tank in operation. We called the Big Bear Cool Cabins office when they went on, and were told that someone will come out to fix the problem. Noone came for 3 days. Good thing it was no problem. We would have been in trouble otherwise. This level of support does not inspire confidence.

We like the house ok, but would not stay here again. Much better houses in previous years.
