It was fun, spacious. The game room was a little small (as was the pool table) and we couldn't figure out how to work the heater system inside the game room. But overall, it was a very good place to settle down for the weekend.
Other than the excessive furniture in the living room the experi

The advertisement offered a variety of entertainment games, however none of them were available in the cabin. Also, there was garbage left outside the cabin from previous visitors that needed to be taken care of. The refrigerator/freezer was also dirty. Aside from all this, the beds were comfortable and our family had a good time. Read more

We are very happy you enjoyed yourself despite these issues and we hope you will be back to visit us very soon.
Had a great time for the time I had to plan our trip!

Down town was awesome although there can be improvements:
Pros: very cozy, clean, and had kitchen appliances we can use!
Cons: although the fireplace is a pro; the con is that there is not great ventilation, however the fireplace isn't needed because there is a great heating system, and the garage where fuze ball, air hockey table are at is frezzing! There is a small heater but it did not work. My husband and kids fought the cold for 20 minutes but then came back in!

The pictures on the website do wonders for this cabin. Unfortunately, when we arrived for our Christmas holiday, we were not impressed. But it also wasn't a total nightmare.
Pros: The game room and living room has tons of movies for the kids.
Water pressure in the shower is good. Large backyard and front yard are nice.
Room sizes are descent. The central heating is amazing!! It kept us very comfortable in 19 degree weather.
Cons: The hot water ran out!!! We had 6 people staying at the cabin and it took us 3 hours to shower. He kept waiting for the water to warm up. The electricity went out 2 times, if it wasn't for my brother that had to turn on the power in the circuit breaker box, we would have been doomed. The beds in the 2 bunkbed rooms are bad. Both my sister-in-law slept on the bottom bunk and we woke up with terrible backaches. The game room (garage) has a very small heater, for most of our trip we couldn't stay in there for more than 30 minutes before we started to freeze.
Overall, the cabin is ok. Not the best but descent. It does have a very "homey" feeling. I would recommend some minor improvements to justify the price of the cabin. That's all.

Constant failure of electrical system. Not fun to get up in the morning. Read more
The owners of Down Time wanted us to take the time to inform all future and past guests that the home is now fully equipped with forced air heating. An electrical inspection of the home did show no major issues and all is working great! We look forward to doing business with you in the future!
Upon receipt of your review we did send maintenance to the home to ensure that all electrical and heating systems were at their best performance. We are very sorry that you experienced these issues and hope you will allow our company to welcome you to Big Bear in the future.

Needs a little TLC and too cold to be in the "game room"

This was a nice a nice house but needs work, especially for the price. The bed in the master bedroom was falling apart which led to a big ditch in the middle of the bed, not good for someone with back problems. The bar-b-q had the wrong grate which made it unusable. The game room in the garage would have been great for the kids except, with no heat, it was too cold to be in. For the price we paid we would have expected the place to be in better shape. I will think twice before using Cool Cabins again if this is what to be expected. I also had some difficulty with the booking process and had to call back 3 times to get the right answer.
