The lounge chairs on the back porch of Mountain Pines Lodge swivel. It’s an amazing way to take the world in up here. Down below a squirrel is making quite a commotion. He’s fat and fluffy and obviously attempting to store up for the winter. A red-headed woodpecker is busy redecorating his apartment across the way and you find yourself fascinated at the goings-on at Mountain Pines. Silence is actually a bit welcome today. Last night everyone played pool and watched movies way into the night. My wife and my two younger children and I stayed here for an extended weekend. What a great "cabin" in Big Bear. It is actually a fairly large house that could easily accommodate two families. The kids loved the play/pool/tv room downstairs and the large jacuzzi. The property was super quiet with a nice view of nature out the back porch but, unlike Moonridge properties, was close to the village and town. The amenities were top notch though we were light on wash clothes so do bring some of your own.
