The cabin was in a nice spot on the lake. It had beautiful views. The cabin is big enough to sleep 9 comfortably. It was difficult backing our boat down the steep driveway. Top floor of the cabin has 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The one bedroom has the nicest view of the lake. Beautiful. There is a foosball table on the top floor, but all of the arms are broken. Master bedroom is located on the middle floor with the kitchen and living room. It was big and had a walk in closet and full bath. The ceiling is very thin, however, and you can hear everything that goes on in the upper bedrooms and foosball area. The cabin has DirectTV which was a plus. The main floor also has a 1/2 bath in the laundry room. This was nice because guests didn't have to walk all the way upstairs or downstairs (or enter the master bedroom) to use the restroom. The kitchen, had most of the items you may need, except a can opener. We were told and reminded several times that we needed to clean our dishes before we left or we would be charged a fee. The last guests should have been charged a hefty fee because we had to wash all of the dishes, silverware, and pots/pans. They were so nasty. It was gross. The bottom floor has a big open room with a pool table, a queen bed, and a twin bed all in one. There is also a 1/2 bath on this floor. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The biggest problem was the spiders. There are a lot! Owners should spray for pest. The other problem we had was that there were only 2 wash clothes for bathing. Not sure what that was all about considering the notes said the cabin had plenty of linens. Luckily, I thought to bring extra hand towels. (Mother's always know these things) I just cut them in half. Problem solved. There were plenty of towels. This was nice, because the spa was awesome. It was ready and hot when we arrived. We asked to make sure we had a full propane tank when we arrived. This was taken care of. We enjoyed our stay. Read more
Thank you for your honest review of this property. We are glad to have your feedback so we are able to improve the condition of this home for all of our future guests. In regards to the spiders, we will definitely have that addressed, however since this is the mountains, there unfortunately has been and always will be some spiders. We are glad to hear that overall your stay was enjoyable and we hope you will return, if not to this house, then to one of our many vacation rentals!

After reading all the negative reviews we were skeptical but after spending 4 days at anglers, we loved it...it was very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The lake view was awesome! We brought our boat and docked it at our own private dock. The only negative thing I would say is they need to put a working vacuum at the property. Carpet can get a little dirty with all of the in and out traffic. Please take care of this property because we'll be back next year. Read more
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed this property as much as we do! We will definitely bring up the vacuum to the property manager to get a new one at this property. Thanks again for your honest feedback, and we hope to see you again soon!
Avoid this place

We stayed at this cabin a couple weeks ago with my family. As soon as you enter the cabin you are bombarded with spider webs. We knew the place was pet friendly but they have never vacuumed the place. After two weeks and washing my clothes, i am still finding dog hair all over my clothes. There were spiders crawling up the walls, in the showers, and in the sinks. The place look beat up. There were things missing, and light bulbs missing in many fixtures. We had a maid come one day, take all our sheets, and never came back with replacements. We complained to the company and they have yet to even call us back. No one was happy staying here. Read more
Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback, as it allows us to address concerns that our guests might have with a vacation home. Unfortunately, it is common here in the San Bernardino National Forest to experience difficulties with spiders and other kinds of wild life. This is especially true during the winter when it is cold outside. We appreciate your input and take all reviews into account when addressing guest concerns, and hope to have the opportunity to help you with your future vacation plans.

Good family fun time with a few glitches
Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011 | Sharon
The view from the cabin was breathtaking ,it was a good size for our family and the pool room and Jacuzzi was perfect for the kids. The glitches were the parking we had to call aAa twice to pull our cars out ,my brother in law felt that we should have been provided with salt for the driveway &that; it should have been pre done before we got there. Basically it needed a few upgrades the tumble dryer took hours to dry a small load there was no wifi even though it said there was and overall the cabin needed a thorough deep cleaning we found droppings in the main bedroom that were either mouse or cockroach, dust & spiderwebs everywhere .the deck landing should be repaired asap it is very dangerous . The neighbor to the right if your standing at the front door is very bad temper & dislikes tourists. Sounds like we had a bad time huh we did not we had a great time with no wifi we talked more ,played Jenga ,watched movies together .We played in the snow it was brilliant the droppings and webs creeped me out ha ha but it was no big deal for the great family Xmas we had .The staff at Big bear vacations were the best so kind and helpful ,John who came out & helped us with our cars was the Best & Kelsey is the best booking agent ever! Thanks so much my kids have a wonderful Xmas memory they will remember forever . Read more
Thank you so much for your feedback on Angler’s Lakefront. Unfortunately, it is common during the winter here in the San Bernardino National Forest to experience difficulties with ice and snow since many snow storms can be continual and require continual shoveling to keep drive ways and patios clear. It is however, excellent to know you had a great stay in spite of the difficulties you experienced during your stay, which we do apologize for. Thank you again for the review, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again.

we were upgraded to this cabin when the one we rented was taken off the rental market days before we were to arrive. The staff could not have been more helpful to find us another cabin that had a private boat dock and would accept my dog.
we had a choice of cabins that meet our needs and were not charged any additional fees. the cabin was wonderful. excellent views, great location. this was by far the best cabin we have ever stayed in.
A little bummed
Nice location, needs to be cleaned and some repairs
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011 | A little bummed
Super location, the place just needs to be cleaned and some basic repairs... toilets, showers.. no brooms available to even sweep off the deck, which was okay. The dock is in need of repair, but the fact that it's right on the water, and has it's own dock is the big advantage.
Comfortable and affordable but needs a lot of work and cleaning
Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011 | Lisa Edsinga
The place was filled with spider webs, old ones. Was dusty. The windows are in bad need of repair. The shades on the windows need to be replaced. The toilets need to be fixed. The deck was in bad need of repair. The railing and the slats on the railing are loose. Very dangerous considering we had children on the deck. The pool table needs to be repaired. The jacuzzi needs to be cleaned. We tried to wash off the deck but the hose did not work. It could be really nice if it had a little TLC. The fridge never got cold enough. It was affordable considering we were on the water, but for how much we paid, things need to be fixed. We had a good time but will never return to this property unless it gets fixed.

The views from the living room, dinning room, kitchen and upstairs bedroom was amazing. The house in general was in poor repair and not clean. We had mice that left droppings on the kitchen counter every day. The kitchen was poorly equiped. Alot junk that was not needed and the basic essentials like a toaster was missing. Windows would not open and if they did the cob webbs were so thick I didn't want to touch the window handle. The master bedroom king bed was so worn out that no one wanted to sleep on it. The couch was more comfortable than the bed.

The location is good and the scene is pretty. The amenities inside are also good. The worst is that no paper towel served. But overall is still good :) Read more
Thank you for responding to our survey on unit 1131. Our check in paper work does suggest you bring paper towels if yu desire them. It is true this is something we do not provide. I hope this did not cause you much inconvenience and you enjoyed your stay in Big Bear.
Picture Perfect Christmas
Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2010 | SG
This vacation rental situated in Boulder Bay was the perfect location for our Christmas celebration. The rooms were lovely, the foosball and pool games entertaining for our family members, and the views spectacular. The kitchen was well equipped and the jacuzzi was a real treat. The only real concern was the icy driveway. We had no real safe way of getting up and down from our car parked on the street.

Great Location - shabby interior
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010 | Sandy, Newport Beach
This house is in a great location, right on the lake front. However the interior is incredibly dated, and not very clean. I could barely bring myself to eat in the kitchen - but even if I could have I couldn't have cooked in it as the oven didn't work and neither did the toaster oven. We checked in at 5pm, an hour later that we were told to, and the cleaners had only just arrived, so after a day's skiing we had to wait while they made the beds and cleaned after the previous tenants - not impressed. The drive way had not been shovelled so unloading our luggage was a lethal exercise. When I called to complain about the cabin not being cleaned before we arrived I was told I couldn't do anything about it until I checked out. Not impressed. This cabin would be worthy it if it were cheap but it's not. Read more
Thank you for responding to our survey. The two weeks that include Chrismas and New Year's our are busiest time of the year. Every house is a back to back. We are sorry you checked into a dirty house. We shovel an access to each house. This is a lakefront house and is in demand. We hope you will visit Big Bear again and have a less stressful stay.
Best location on the lake
Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in September 2010 | CB clan
The location on the lake is amazing. We loved it. The large dock was a fun gathering place and the spa was great. The house though was a little disappointing. When we arrived, we had to call housekeeping immediately about a bad oder. To their credit, they came immediately and cleaned. Blinds were in disrepair and they too were changed out immediately. The sliding screen doors kept going off track all weekend with people going in and out. The carpet needs cleaning throughout the house. We were comfortable but it is obvious that this place is a "rental". Read more
Thank you for your response to our survey on Angler's Lakefront. The carpet has been cleaned and curtains have been put up in the game room in lieu of the vertical blinds. We hope you will come and visit us again.

We had a the most wonderful family vacation. The layout of the cabin was perfect for us. My parents are in their 80s so the bedroom on the main floor was lifesaving. All the kids we thrown downstairs with the pool table and easy access to the water. They fished the entire weekend and didn't even plug up the video games. (I couldn't believe it) My husband and I snuck out in mornings and got in the jacuzzi to watch the sunrise. It was truly a great vacation and I hope we are able to return when the snow comes.

I had friends flying out from NY to get together for vacation, so I talked them into spending more money because the pictures made this home look so good with the beautiful jacuzzi on the deck over looking the lake.Imagine our surprise when we saw the jacuzzi way down below the house surrounded by overgrown weeds and beer bottles and cans. A quick phone call to the office did take care of the scattered beer bottles and cans right away. The jacuzzi was very nice though and worked great. Once inside we noticed the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. When I called and spoke to Susan, I was asked to fill it with soap and run the cycle. Shocked, I asked you want ME to clean and put away these dishes?? Susan replied "what? you want me to come over and unload it. I was honestly to shocked to respond, but after a call to management they sent over someone to clean the dishes and fix the disposal that also didn't work. All in all, the house was ok, definitely needs updating and some fixes here and there. Not as nice as we were led to believe. Susan definitely needs better training on customer relations. Everyone else was very professional. Read more

*Excellent service from the first phone call to office to the last phone call to the main office.
*Once we opened the front door it was a never ending memory of another world walking from front door to the rear and looking at the beautiful scenery of Big Bear Lake.
*This location we picked was awesome easy to get in and out close to the markets and very quite streets. Everything you needed from dishes to washer machine to pillows and blankets, It's like this house new what we needed and it was there.
*Everything was great seemed like we were in a new model home were all the furniture and pictures on wall were meant to be there, As far as dislikes there was none even the propane tank was full Wow the price was a little high but you get what you pay for and we sure got it. The Office also got us great discounts to the Lakes Marina for rentals I highly recommend this resort to any family looking to get away and enjoy a peaceful Vacation

A great four days away
Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in August 2009 | Paul Hughes
A group of 8 spent four perfect days in Big Bear at this very "classic and rustic" feeling lake house. The house was fantastic...plenty of space, all the amenities we needed for the trip. It advertised a DVD player that wasnt't there, and one was brought to us within 30 min of making a comment to the rental agency. The dock was perfect for the pontoon boot we rented, and the hot tub was a great size.
