The cabin was awesome! I booked this place for me and 9 friends to celebrate my birthday and there was more than enough room! The kitchen was seriously the best part, we're a hungry bunch so we cooked a lot! Everything was well stocked with pans, utensils, etc. The rooms were really comfy and warm :) The restrooms were clean and well stocked also! We had a wonderful time! The big TV screen, pool table, and movies were a plus! The only down side was that the iPod/music wasn't working which was kind of a bummer, but we managed fine with a laptop. Also, the bedroom walls are paper thin and you can hear every creak and sound coming from other rooms, so keep that in mind ;)

Cool Cabins was a very easy company to work with. No problems getting the keys or checking into the cabin. They even let us check out a little late for free.
The cabin was in great shape, the owners had prepped it for our stay and even left us a welcome gift basket with snacks and wine! The hot tub was different than pictured but still served a great purpose. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen/grill was easy to use and well stocked. The place was almost on the level of a nice hotel with the amenities supplied.
Worth the price for sure and def would recommend -

Southern CaliforniaNice Stay - Good Cabin
Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Very nice Cabin for our family vacation (5 adults, 2 young kids, 2 Dogs). The layout was good (downstairs = 1 bath, 1 queen bedroom and another bedroom with 2 bunkbeds). This was good for us to be next to our kids and separate the noise from the rest of the house. The main level has 2 queen bedrooms, a bathroom, a living and dining room. The top level is the "game loft" with the big TV, small pool table and couches. The backyard is OK, but not fenced in and very steep).
Location is nice, close drive to lots of stuff. It is a good street for taking walks.
The cabin was clean enough, check-in / check-out was very easy, water was hot. It's not a "Luxury" cabin, but it was a nice stay.
If you have issues with steep stairs, look elsewhere for sure.

We have been renting cabins up in Big Bear for about 8 years now and the whole family agreed absolute Comfort was among the best we have rented. The kitchen was far and away the best stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook meals. The upstairs loft is perfect with a huge tv, pool table and many places to sit comfortably and hang out with friends and family. There are decks off of the two upper floors which offer a great place to start and end the day. All in all I have nothing but good things to say about this cabin. We will be back for sure!

Not sure what the previous review was about, as we had a lovely stay. Everything was working as expected. We found the house both clean and nicely accommodated. The place had obviously been freshly painted and was very inviting. There was plenty of hang out space. The bedrooms were plentiful and comfortable. The layout was open, had many windows and nice views from the decks. My husband and kids particularly liked the big screen T.V, the enormous movie and game collection and the big tree house in the back yard. There was a pool table as well, not big but it did the trick. Soaking in the Jacuzzi was a nice touch to end the day. When we needed to hit town, everything was a couple of minutes away.
We'll be back !

San DiegoNeeds a lot of repairs
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Beware, the photos of this cabin are very deceiving. I found this cabin to be so dirty I wanted to leave the first night but my husband talked me into staying. This cabin needs a good cleaning and several items need repairing the kitchen faucet was not working it was either very hot or very cold but my husband who is a contractor fixed it. After washing a load of clothes the dryer stopped working so my daughter had to take the wet clothes to a laundry mat to dry them. There is a hole in the wall in the downstairs bedroom and mice ate through a bag of chips the first night .This cabin does have some nice features but it is really needs a lot of repairs.

Went to Big Bear for summer treat for the kids. It had everything we needed and more. Check in was easy. Great location! Close to shopping, restaurants and recreation. There was even a cute miniature golf place within walking distance! The house was clean, fully equipped and met all of our needs. Lots of movies, a big screen TV and many games to keep the kids busy. Located on a quiet street with a nice view so we were able to relax and really felt like we were getting away. The kids were able to play out back in the large backyard, while we Bbq'd and enjoyed the sunny front terrace. There was even a two-story playhouse-fort and swing set. Could have used a few more wash cloths but we will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Los AngelesA fun place to hang out!
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
I took a weekend trip with 7 of my closest friends and our plan was to just hang out. That's exactly what we did - hot tub, movies, cooked dinner, grilled, more hot tub, the occassional drinking game. This place provided us with a comfortable place to stay and plenty of room to enjoy each other's company.
We didn't require much service from Cool Cabins, just needed check-in and check-out which was pretty easy. The home was clean with 4 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens or doubles and 4 bunkbeds) and a nice sized kitchen. Other amenities include the hot tub, a nice upstairs movie room and a pool table (A tiny pool table that was a little tough to play on...). The location was close to everything we needed, but like I said above, we didn't leave the house much. I'd recommend this for a convenient, affordable and comfortable place to stay in Big Bear. -

We were dissapointed by the condition of the property. It has a great location and has a lot of potential. But it needs a very deep cleaning. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head, that's close to the slopes this location will work. Not a location I could recomed to people with young kids.

Los AngelesNo fuzz relaxing getaway.
Left on 01/20/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Checking in was a breeze. The cabin was warm and comfortable, with a nice layout and well stocked kitchen. On our first night, amidst the laughter, television playing and a pool game, we heard knocking. At the door, were standing two teens holding a huge basket filled with treats which they said the owner had asked them to deliver-very nice and completely unexpected. The cabin sits on a hillside, and the back yard had play equipment, but the snow had melted and it was muddy so the kids never got to play outside (bummer-can't blame the owner for that). It's situated on a quiet street with lots of trees, just a few minutes from Bear Mountain, snow play and places to shop. Overall, we had a nice stay. The only two things which really influenced my low rating are the cleanliness of the place and the spa location. It was very dusty and the carpets seemed as if they had not been vacuumed in a very long time. I found people's hair on the dining table and in the bathtubs. The bathrooms were dirty and there was a lingering smell, which we concluded came from the drain. The spa is situated in the front yard, next to the driveway above street level, and though it's surrounded by a privacy fence from three sides, it is still awkward and exposed so we never used it. There are lots of unfinished projects, scratched floors, and squeaky beds, but we felt it just added to the rugged experience. It's a shame though, the cabin has nice bones and some very beautiful features. So if you're traveling with lots of kids and don't want to fuzz about anything, or there for serious outside play and just need a place to crush, this is the place.

Been with Cool Cabins for number of years and very happy with their service. Absolute Comfort Chalet was very comfortable and the family had a wonderful time celebrating our Christmas gathering. Beds very comfortable and all needs were met. A wonderful surprise upon arrival of a gift package from the owner. We were all very grateful and enjoyed all the goodies. The only complaint we have are the cobwebs and pots and pans were difficult to reach. Otherwise, we look forward to celebrating 2012 Christmas again at absolute Comfort Chalet.

Los Angeles, CAGood time at Big Bear!
Left on 12/25/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Absolute Comfort was a complete pleasure! It was well appointed with all of the necessary amenities. From an extensive collection of dvd's, Satellite Radio and an Ipod dock, to all of the cooking supplies we needed - this cabin had it all. It was centrally located to shopping, restaurants and the slopes while at the same time on a quiet street surrounded by trees that made us feel like we had privacy and were really getting away. We found it both clean and comfortable. All beds had comfy down comforters and Tv's in every room. We enjoyed hanging in the Jacuzzi and playing pool. There were even sleds at the house and a small hill across the street. It did need some brighter light bulbs in the kitchen but that will not stop us from making this cabin part of our annual trips to Big Bear. Thanks for the great memories!!!

We checked in at the Cool Cabins Office on arrival, the process was quick and easy. We found the absolute Comfort Chalet on a beautiful forest road, located across the street from the Vons shopping center and a few minutes from Snow Summit Resort. The Cabin itself was clean and extremely well equipped for cooking and barbecuing. The entertainment room upstairs is cozy and has its own private "Blockbuster" collection of films. The rooms/beds were clean and the Jacuzzi outside was serviced on both days of our stay. Upon request, we quickly received extra towels. During our stay the owner sent us a kind gift basket. I highly recommend absolute Comfort Chalet. Thanks for a memorable Thanksgiving weekend,

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Overall, our group had a blast. The only problem we had with our stay was it was not as clean as I would have liked. There were lots of spiderwebs, and bugs in the house, I actually had to sweep when we first got there because I couldn't walk around barefoot, the floors were dirty. Also, the check in process was so fast and easy, until we got to the house. The lock box that held the house key had been stolen and the house had recently been broken into but luckily the maintenance man showed up with a gift basket and beer from the owners as a welcoming gift and that was fantastic! A short while later after we checked in we found an old lady in her underwear and a toddler in the jacuzzi just as if we weren't even there. That was weird. But it was swiftly taken care of and the spa was serviced and cleaned. I think the master should have a king size bed, that queen was just way to small. The dumping of the trash really sucks to because you have to load it all up in your car and hope it doesn't tear open and leak what ever is in the bags and then drive it to the dump station, or they will take care of it for an astronomical amount. I did however end up cutting both of my feet on the uneven floor in the master bedroom, the flooring planks were lifting in spots and in the upstairs living area there is a huge hole in the floor in the corner that was covered up by a chair that was previously mentioned in someone elses comments. Overall, with the size of group we had the place was great to just kick back and hang out with our friends, we would do all again, but I might make a few suggestions before our arrival.

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We checked in at 3:00 PM and were told that the cabin was ready. When we got there it had not been cleaned. Beds were torn apart, dirty towels were on the ground, and dishes were piled on the counters. Called the staff to complain and it seemed like they did not care. I had small children that had to be kept out of the cabin for 2 hours while we waited. The cabin has a hole in the floor for wiring that my 2 year old fell in. I will use another company in the future to book cabins. If they just gave free firewood or seemed like they cared it may have been different.

The spa would have been great to soak in, except that it is essentially on the driveway, right on the edge of the street. Everyone who drives by has a birds eye view of you in your bathing suit! Also, The house was in a bit of disrepair. It looks like the owners may be in the process of slow renovations, but they are no where near done (ie. power outlets missing covers, electrical wires exposed, etc!)

Great little chalet with ample space for a group of us to come in and enjoy each other's company without feeling on top of one another. Wonderful accommodations and a lot of additional things to enjoy, including a patio, pool table, big fireplace, jacuzzi, boardgames, Dvds and even a backyard picnic table. A lot of effort, resources and energy have gone into making this a home away from home.
The kitchen is spacious, and the large wooden dining room table/benches are perfect for every meal.
