every thing was nice and what we expected except there was no hot water in the kitchen to wash the dishes, I had to boil water!! I have rented from cool cabin in the past and was given to lock box code and direction via email but during this stay I had to go to the office to retain information this was inconvenience.
Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 04/28/2013
Manager
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Please give us a call in the future if you experience any issues with maintenance as we have a full staff and would have been more then happy to send someone out had we received a call. As far as the emailed lock box code unfortunately we can only do that if the house you rented is in the County of Big Bear, unfortunately the City of Big Bear requires that we have all of our guests check in face to face. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will be back to visit us soon!

RamonaCozy cabin in Big Bear
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
In a last minute decision we decided to go to Big Bear for presidents weekend and in a search to find a place the choices were very slim. lucky us as we found this little gem in the moonridge area. the cabin had a nice wooden walkway that leads up to the front entry. once inside we were treated to a small but cozy living area with a beautiful fireplace that was quickly lit to warm the house. the bedroom was off to the right and was a nice size for us. the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for the meals we had there. My daughter found a place in the neighbor hood that she could ride one of the many slides that were available in the cabin. the only difficulty we had was that we arrived at night and the lock box was hard to operate in the dark. unfortunatly our phones weer dead so they were of no help to give off a lttle light. a battery operated lamp would be helpful for those late night arrivals. I highly recommend the cabin for its warmth and location to everything that we wanted to do while visiting Big Bear

MurrietaBring your own toilet paper and paper towels. ..
Left on 02/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The cabin is darling, but we had 1/4 roll of paper towels and toilet paper. Called the management company right away. Took 2 days and a trip to their office to get any paper products. There was an abandoned van with expired tags blocking the advertised sledding area. They refused to do anything about it. We went back to our usual rental. Its always well stocked and nothing is ever blocking the sledding area.
Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 02/10/2013
Manager
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for leaving this review. We would like to start by offering our deep apologies for any issues you had while staying with our company. First off we would like to clarify that we do only provide the initial paper products, this includes one new roll of paper towels and depending on the occupancy of the cabin 2-8 rolls of toilet paper. We apologize if the minimum requirement was not met, however if any additional items are needed it would be the guest’s responsibility to provide them. As far as the van, while we do apologize for any misunderstanding we do not advertise this cabin or any other cabin with a “sledding area” for liability reasons and unfortunately there is nothing we can do unless the van was actually parked on the cabins property. We do hope this response has been useful to you and once again are very sorry for any trouble you had. Please give us a call if you ever need a place to stay while visiting and we will do our best to accommodate you as best we can.
Best Regards,
The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team

We had enjoyed our stay at this Cabin. Everything was set and gone perfectly. The only thing I want to comment on is the water heater!!
It was not working properly; most of the time the water was very very very cold!! I couldn't control it as I couldn't finf its controller, if any!!!
This is serious issue; and hope they will work on it!!! -

Getting a chance to relax at the Huckabey Hideaway was in one word awesome. I had just returned from deployment from afghanistan. And I couldn't think of a better place to unwind and catch my breath than up in Big Bear. When choosing through all the cabins the Huckabey just stood out to me . It was very cozy warm and we felt right at home .I will definitely return there in the future. Thank you very much for having us Domonic Guerrero..

My husband and I really needed a quiet, secluded and stress relief weekend. We found the perfect cabin. Located on a cul-de-sac street far enough away from the Big Bear main drag but close enough to hiking trails around the lake. This cabin has a large deck with nice views, a great stone fireplace and is a cozy retreat for a couple. Nicely appointed with big bear decor. We plan to visit again in the near future.

We spent 4 days at Huckabee Hideaway which was located on a quiet street by Bear Mountain, Golf Course and the Zoo. The weather was perfect and the cabin was decorated so cute and cozy. The cabin had HBO, Cinemax and wireless internet. We were also suprised that it had a washer and dryer. Our favorite part of our trip was sitting on the large deck for morning coffee and wine in the evening.

the cabin was nice except the bed was like sleeping on a rock and hurt my back. the location was quiet and relaxing with all the amenities you can hope for. the staff were nice, but I noticed that the ratings on yelp were horrendous and if i would of read those reviews first I would have not gone through cool cabins. Your guys are a good company and need to answer these postings on yelp with the fixes you have made due to their concerns to show your are a reputable place to rent from, but i will return and will continue to use your company, but seriously address the yelp thing it could hurt your rep!

Left on 04/01/2012 for a stay in March 2012
loved the cabin, although I wish it had a driveway so we didn't have to park in street. I understand they're real picky about that. also i was glad to have brought a shovel to clear the nice front stairway, cause it sure wasn't done ahead of our arrival. reservation system and assist from cool cabin staff was horrible. it took multiple emails and calls to arrange rental. calls were met with complete indifference. i thought i was talking to DMV clerks!!!

Garden GroveIt was cute but could have been cleaner.
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in March 2012
At a first glance, the cabin was in good condition. Newer kitchen and bathroom. Once I sat in the chair/recliner I noticed that it was covered in food crumbs. Yuck. The bathroom had hair all over the floor. The bedspread and throw pillows were extremely old and had a glaze of sticky filth all over them
The blankets in the trunk were definitely not laundered and the bed was litteraly hard as a rock. Thank goodness we had two large blankets in the car. We ended up opening the couch/futon into a bed at 2am and finished our night's rest there. Our stay wasn't awful but it was barely average. If it were clean, we would have been happy.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 03/27/2012

I stayed at this cabin from Thursday January 5th through Saturday January 7th. The cabin had everything I needed and so much more. The heater worked great, the cabin tv had premium channels, the kitchen came with all pots and pans needed to cook. Even had wifi! The cabin was maintained very well and is located about 5 minutes driving from Bear Mountain. I would love to stay at this cabin again. It could not have been better.

Check in was relatively easy, the people at the office were pleasant. Cabin was close enough to everything, markets and restaurants were a quick drive away. The cabin was clean and well furnished (the kitchen was fully stocked with equipment for cooking), it was warm and quaint. It had just snowed and using the wood fireplace was a nice touch. I would definitely consider coming back to this cabin on a future trip to Big Bear.

We loved the cabin. It had everything we needed, even Wi-Fi, which I don't believe is listed in the amenities. It made for a wonderful little weekend getaway. We'd consider going back. The only thing we did not like was having to take out our own trash with a $50 fine hanging over our heads, if we didn't. I worried all weekend that we'd forget it. They even had the adacity to tell us in the little house manual where to take it. Ridiculous! I've never stayed anywhere that made me take out my own trash. And for the money we paid, we shouldn't have to. I assume someone comes in and cleans. Why can't that person take out the trash?
Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 10/01/2011
Manager
Thank you for the great review; we are very sorry that the trash disposal was an issue. City ordinance mandates that trash be disposed of at a designated disposal site. Upon check in we do provide all of our guests with exact locations of each trash site in the Big Bear Valley.

need to leave directions for the TV, it took us a while to figure out the remotes. The TV in the bedroom only had one channel-21, not good. If you expect people to clean out the fire place, you should leave a fireplace shovel to use.
To be honest, I have stayed in larger hotel rooms for less, and I didn't have to clean up the fireplace or take out the garbage. Rather than just giving a street to take the garbage, how about an address.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 06/17/2011

My friend and I really enjoyed the solitude and cleanliness of the Huckabey Hideway Cabin. I've stayed in several cabins in the upper Moonridge area and although the Huckabey is in the lower part of the hill (which was unbeknownest to me at time of booking) I liked the closer proximity to the skiing and main areas of Big Bear. The Cabin was very clean, had all the necessities and had quiet surroundings. My only suggestion, is to place window coverings on the front and rear doors due to a privacy issue...I plan to definitely stay at the Huckabey again,
