We stayed at alpine Escape for the weekend of January 10th. The cabin its self was in good shape but needed a little work. First of all the lighting for the deck where the spa is located. We tried getting in at night time but there was no light. We called cool cabins to let them know and they sent someone out to take a look at it after the second time we called. The problem wasnt even fixed. They then told us they would send a technitian the following morning. Nobody ever showed up and we didnt even get a call. So ultimately we grilled and got in the spa in the dark. Second issue we had is the shower head for the upstairs bathroom has too much pressure and cannot be adjusted so it hurts your skin when the water comes down as if you are being poked with needles. Other than that the gaming area was fun and there was plenty of room for our family throughout the place. Very well equipped with pots and pans. There was even a washer and dryer. We would stay again if the problems were corrected.
P.S. the internet wiring was all disconnected so we connected it ourselves and got it to work. Read more
Thanks very much for taking the time to update us. It's so helpful and we'll make sure that it gets taken care of. Sorry that wasn't fixed while you were in Big Bear. So glad that you enjoyed your time with us. Thanks for staying with Cool Cabins!

1. No dishwasher in the kitchen
2. No maintenance at the Grill
3. Lights were not functioning
4. Bathroom shower head is not good. Can't take shower with that force.
5. Trash facility is not within the cabin.
6. Bathroom door locks were a problem
Thank you for your review. We are sending maintenance over to look at the issues. Per the City of Big Bear Lake, our guests are required to remove their trash to an offsite facility.

The check-in was extremely easy and the staff was very friendly. The cabin was clean with all the necessary supplies to help enjoy our vacation. There were a total of 3 families that spent the weekend there and it was extremely comfortable with plenty of room for everyone.
This was an awesome cabin!!

I went to Big Bear for a birthday weekend trip. There were 6 adults and 5 children aging from 2 to 11. We all had such an amazing time during our stay. The cabin was extremely spacious and clean. The garage really came in handy cause it was snowing when we arrived. The heater warmed up really quick upstairs but downstairs never really caught up. it was ok since we spent most our time in the cabin upstairs. It does get quite warm though during the night upstairs so you may want to turn the heater down before bed. And the shower upstairs has painfully hard water pressure. The downstairs shower was much more comfortable. Other than those 2 minor things we absolutely loved this cabin! it was so comfortable and accommodated all our needs! The hot tub was awesome as well! I definitely recommend this cabin as well as big bear cool cabins service! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Where do I begin?
When we all arrived at the cabin, we were disgusted at what we saw: the place was a mess. There were wet, dirty towels thrown on the floor throughout the entire cabin. All of the beds were unmade and were clearly used. There were no clean towels. The counter tops were filthy.
I immediately called the main office to tell them what was going on. I was informed that the previous guests were either the owners or acquaintances of the owners, and that they must have opted to clean the cabin themselves rather than pay for the cleaning service (and of course failed to clean). I was told that they can send a cleaning service. I said I already paid for the cabin -a clean cabin- and that this was interfering with my vacation (as well as 8 other people's vacations). They told me to come back to the office to discuss other options.
I arrived back at the office. An employee of Cool Cabins showed me what they claimed was available. None of the cabins fit our needs. We had 9 people and needed 4 beds that were queen or larger. All of their available cabins had 1 or 2 queens. After she spoke to her manager, she informed me that they would offer me a nominal discount if I stayed at the original cabin, and assured me someone would be cleaning it asap. I had no choice but to accept, as we there were no other cabins with as many queen beds as alpine Escape advertised to have.
We returned to the cabin and waited for the cleaning crew. They did arrive shortly afterwards and did clean the cabin quickly. As we settled into our rooms, we noticed that the "queen" beds were more like fulls. The mattresses in my room were the same as a thin futon mattress and were extremely uncomfortable.
I am assuming that there is a problem with the cabin's thermostat or sensor. Heat pumped all night, waking everyone upstairs up in the middle of the night.
The cabin itself was very dirty and the carpet was littered with stains. Major turn-off. Would not stay here again. Read more
Thank you for leaving your review of Alpine Escape. First and foremost we would like to again extend our deepest apologies for the problems you had while staying with our company. It was our understanding that the homeowner would be taking care of the cleaning as that was what was stated when they blocked it off online. We are so embarrassed and truly sorry that, that was not the case. We’re also sorry that we did not have any properties large enough to move you into however this was not a problem we anticipated or were prepared to deal with and at this time of year we are extremely booked up. As far as the beds you mentioned not being the right size we did call and speak to the homeowner who confirmed they are indeed all standard Queen sized beds. In response to the comment you left about the heater this is a slightly older home so it is to be expected that the heater may function a little differently than that of a more modern home. We do apologize if the cleanliness of the cabin did not meet your standards or expectations but it is commonly found among rental homes that they see more ware (especially on the carpets) and tare then privately owned family homes. Once again we are so very sorry for any mistakes which were made on our behalf and we sincerely hope you will give us another chance should you ever visit Big Bear again and we will try even harder to meet your demands.

Cozy & Comfortable

A large group of us stayed here for the New Year holiday. The cabin is easy to get to and the driveway is flat! I think this is a huge bonus when staying somewhere in the winter. :) Our first impression was a good one- the cabin is cozy and kept clean. The living areas are actually separate... one being up stairs and one down stairs, which is not obvious from the pictures. We enjoyed hanging out in both spaces and found them comfortable.
The location is a short drive to Bear Mountain. The description says you can walk, and 3 in our group did; however, there are not any sidewalks and it is about a mile so be aware of this. The cabin is close to a park & shuttle place but we chose to drive to that as well since it was walkable but not that close. It all worked out for us though.
One issue we had was the heat... it was very cold down stairs and very warm up stairs but this is to no fault of the owner. The people who stayed in the cabin before us never closed the fluke on the fireplace and therefore cold air was rushing in to the cabin. They also didn't follow directions and turned the heat all the way off instead of leaving it at 55 degrees. Just make sure you check these two things and you will not have the same problem.
We also had to report a few broken items we found upon arrival... the nice part is that they offer 24 hour service if you have any issues with the cabin!
Other than that, we had a great stay. We used the kitchen table alot to play games & hang out. The hot tub worked great which was nice! Both bathrooms had hot working showers. The water pressure in the upstairs shower is super strong so be careful! :)
The four bedrooms fit everyone comfortably and we even had extra space on a futon in the living area upsatirs. Technically, you could sleep more than 10 but with only 2 bathrooms and the living areas separated, I would recommend keeping it around 9-10 people. We enjoyed our stay and found the cabin to be clean and cozy.

So many great things about this cabin. First of all the place is huge! Then there's the wrap around porch, which has a jacuzzi in the back. When we wanted to go sledding we found 3 tobogans in the garage just waiting to be ridden. Just a perfect cabin in a perfect location. Also Big Bear Cool Cabins did a great job as well. I had read previous reviews, and being a big company they may of had some hiccups along the way, but they let us check in early and check out late, which was a huge bonus for us. It probably depends on the type of cabin you get, but no issues with us on this one. Will definitely rent this or a similar one in the future.
The Perfect end of summer getaway location.

So I've been organizing an annual Big Bear trip amongst my friends for the last 8-9 years, always a group of 10+, so were always looking for big cabins with great savings. I've been using Big Bear Cool Cabins for about the last 3 bookings and I was very hesitant to go back. Last year they sent me to a cabin that was totally trashed without even telling me, and I had to be moved around to 3different cabins that day. Very inconvinient, but they offered a %15discount on my next stay. Alpine Escape was my next stay, and there services, cleanliness, and price has now made me a happy customer. So I will def be continuing to use Bbcc in my future bookings.
Now, about alpine Escape... it was perfect in every way. 4 very large and comfy bedrooms, 2 living rooms which worked out great since I had some gamers in my party that used the upstairs living/gameroom with the large LCD for games. Kitchen had everything you needed, and the hot tub worked perfectly getting very hot at the end of a long day of snowboarding. I've never stayed at the same cabing twice, but I think I might have to break that rule with this cabin come next winter season.

The house was great. Very comfortable and cozy. We received two feet of snow while there and the hose looks just like the picture after snow. People were stopping to take pictures as they drove by. We had only one issue with the hot tub jets (Probably user error) and the people from Cool Cabins were there in :30 minutes and had it corrected by the time we returned. It was our daughters 13th birthday and first time any of the kids had seen snow. They will remember this experience for the rest of their lives. Thank you Cool Cabins and Owner for a great weekend!
Weekend in Bear and on the slopes

My friends and I rented the cabin for the weekend to get some time together up in Big Bear and on the slopes. We found the accommodations perfect for a large group; The cabin is pretty big so we didn't feel too crowded, and everyone had a bed. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice. It's located within walking distance to Bear Mountain and close to grocery stores, etc. Parking was not an issue, and it was really easy to find. My only qualm about the place was some of the beds were pretty dated and could probably be replaced, but the Jacuzzi made up for that :)

This cabin was nice. Very cozy and relaxing. The husband and I had a pleasant time from start till finish. Lol. We had a good time and the kids sure enjoyed it as well. I am not sure if it was the altitude or the cabin but most of us had weird dreams. The newborns never slept well. Its probably just our imagination, living in Seal Beach, we never go up into the woods.. Regardless, trip well spent.

It was a very nice sized cabin. Fit all 10 of us more then comfortably. A lot of room and the beds were comfortable. Perfect amount of furniture. The only flaw that I could possibly think of would be that the top floor had a mild smell of mold. Other then that, everything was perfect.

I would give it 5 stars but the carpet and kitchen flooring were a little ripped up. It does not affect the functionality of the building. Close to everything in big bear lake area. Lots of beds and couches. Everyone had a blast!

Over this cabin was great. The location was good with many shops located 5 minutes away. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars was the fact that many things were a bit old and didn't work properly. However, you can manage to improvise and get through it. Like I said previously, overall not a bad cabin. I would definitely stay at this cabin once again.
overall it was a nice place

The best part about this cabin is the hot tub. Hands down. Then there's the TVs, the game tables, couches, and full kitchen. Its a very cozy and pretty place, esp. in the snow. Definitely recommend!
