      Cozy and romantic

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My wife and I rented this place for our 25 Th wedding anniversary. Smaller than we expected but nice and cozy. Place was fairly clean and the hot tub works great. Situated in a fairly wooded area gave us great privacy. The only complain I have is the management company. After hour service (After 10 PM) cost $10.00 and it's in a different address. Some of the renters were told drive to the cabin and wait to get the keys. When I am paying $200.00+ a day I expect more service from these management companies. I would have given 5 stars if it's weren't for Cool Cabin's administration.

      A Great Place to Stay

Left on 03/13/2013 for a stay in March 2013

The cabin was clean with plenty of space for four and we made use of both the hot tub and the grill during our two night stay. It was much more fun and a better experience than a hotel. The price was also very reasonable, and it was money well spent. I'd definitely stay there again!

      Cabin, great! Customer Service, horrible!

Left on 12/26/2012 for a stay in December 2012

The cabin was beautiful! Very cozy! The oven was hard to work with but an hour later we were finally able to figure it out.
The day we arrived was not the best experience for us though. When we arrived to check in they made us leave a deposit for $200. They then said it would be mailed to us and received within 14 business days, which was fine. 14 business days later, nothing showed up. So I then called and the representative I spoke with said the check had not even been mailed yet! She said it would be an additional 14-21 business days. All of this mess due to a 21 year old not being present at the exact moment of check in. Under the circumstances, he was not able to join us until later that same night. The rest of my party was over 18 (the legal to be considered an adult) and still, the $200 cash deposit had to be made. At the time it was understandable, but almost 3 weeks later and the check is just now being sent. Ridiculous, unprofessional and sloppy customer service! Never again will I rent or recommend this company to anyone.

      Great Cozy Cabin!!!

Left on 10/03/2012 for a stay in September 2012

This cabin was super cute. It was very close to village shops and the marinas. It was very clean and decorated very nicely. The rooms are small, but have enough space to store your luggage and/or hang clothes. It was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with all of the things one would need to cook. Great for a family, friends, or couple getaway.

      Less than Expected

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The cabin is cute and quaint. However, I will not stay at this cabin again. It is very primitive. The appliances are extremely old and barely work. The fridge/freezer could not keep our groceries cold/frozen. The oven is barely workable. The place is quite dirty with dust and spider webs everywhere. The beds are very uncomfortable and the bedding was not very clean.

The location is walking distance to the lake like stated... However, it is only walking distance to private lake access from private homes.

We felt deceived by the description and were pretty disappointed in this cabin.
      Would not stay again.

      Dear Family4,

Thank you for taking some time to write this review on Bay Breeze Hideaway. I just spoke with this homeowner in regards to this review and she wanted me to update you on a few things. First off she will be replacing all of the appliances within the next few months. She is also going to get brand new bedding and comforters to keep in the cabin as well. We will also send housekeeping to do a better job in regards to the dust and spider webs. I hope that this response has been helpful and we sure hope you will give us a call when you are ready to visit Big Bear again!

Very nice cabin in a good location. Close to the village and lake. Very quite and peacefull neightborhood. Only downside were the beds. The one I slept on wasn't very comfortable which resulted in a sore back. A few ants roaming on the counter too. Fix those and it will be perfect.

Would I come back to the Bay Breeze Hideaway?

Left on 02/29/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I had a great time at the Bay Breeze Hideaway. Very small, cozy cabin, perfect for 4 or fewer. Definitely would be cramped with more. Jacuzzi was nice. Tv small, but who watches tv in Big Bear?! Large wrap around deck, but BBQ on it is charcoal, which was a little inconvenient, even though lighter fluid, charcoal, and lighters were provided. It just didnt seem to stay hot, maybe bring your own charcoal. Check in was fairly quick and easy. This was my first cabin so checking in at a different location seemed wierd. Staff was friendly and allowed late check out which is always great. To answer the original question...yes I would come back to this cabin, maybe not at "peak sean" rates, though.

My boyfriend and I have stayed in this cabin at least once a year for the past 6 years we have been dating. It is really cozy and cute and even though we started smaller when we were really young because we were students on a budget (haha), we still stay in Bay Breeze Hideaway, because of all of the happy memories over the past years.Sometimes the dishes and corners could use a little more TLC, but I am extremely happy with it. I can't wait to come back this year again!

My son and I spent 3 nights here. I found the process easy and the place to have all the expected features and amenities and dishware etc and more. It would be great if they had their own wireless internet but I had a broadband card so that was ok. There was 4-6 in of snow drop while
we were there and the removal service was pretty prompt on driveway, roads and walkway /porch.
I did lose my key and while they were relatively good/quick about getting it replaced when I went into the office, the $35 fee I think is ridiculously steep.

This was the perfect mini vacation that I was hoping for. It was my first time going and I would definetely go back. The cabin was small but cozy perfect for a romantic getaway! The rooms were a good size w/ super confortable beds, the kitchen was equipted with everything you might need. It was nice for the cabin to have a heater since it does get cold!!! Great peaceful views. The only disapointment was the hot tub, I was plannig to use it during the night but the buttons to set the temperature do not work at all. It also bothered me that the water was not clean at all. You pay more to have the hot tub and when you get there it does not work??? I did call managment but no one ever showed up!! That really made me think twice if I would return.

Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in October 2011

There was good and bad. I will start with the good. Great location, cabin is nicely decoratede. My problem is with the way the property is maintained by Cool Cabins. This property has a serious spider problem. There were webs on the walls and we probably killed 10 spiders. There were ants on the kitchen counters. This property is in need of an exterminator. For $300 I expected cleanliness comparable to a hotel. When I contacted Cool Cabins after my stay, they told me to pound sand. I felt entitled to a refund or partial refund, they disagreed. Use Cool Cabins at your own risk.

      Great Cabin, Great Location!

Left on 08/31/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We had a wonderful time staying at Bay Breeze Hideaway. The cabin was clean when we arrived. Check-in was quick and the office was easy to find.

The cabin was stocked with kitchen essentials including a coffee pot. Bathroom was beautiful and looks like it had been recently remodeled. I would suggest bringing your own towels, the ones provided were very small and reminiscent of sand paper.

The spa was hot when we arrived, however the temperature control buttons are worn and is close to impossible to change the temp.

Cabin was was child-proof with the exception of the glass coffee table with chipped corner. We stayed with our 1 year old son and had no problem letting him loose in the main living area. The coffee table was easily moved into the other room.

The neighborhood was beautiful with luxury cabins located adjacent to Bay Breeze. Very quiet with large pines throughout. 2 minute drive to the village and walking distance to the brewery and Mexican Restaurant.

I would recommend this cabin to a close friend without hesitation!

We enjoyed our stay. More attentioned could be payed to the cleaning of the cabin. Some areas needed dusting and cobwebs throughout cabin. The spa temperature never went over 93 degrees, whcich wasn't a problem in the summer. However, if it was winter that would be disappointing since we choose the cabin for the spa feature to use at night.
The weekly rental price was a bit high for the accomadations. But we did not let these challenges get in the way of having a great vacation and would do it again.

We spent a weekend at Bay Breeze Hideaway in May 2011 and loved it! It's situated in a nice, quiet neighborhood with lots of pine trees and pretty views. We especially liked the large deck and hot tub. The big back yard is also great for kids. The cabin itself is cute and cozy. It was well-stocked with all the essentials and everything -- heater, t.v., DVD player, stereo, hot tub -- worked as promised. The cabin is just a block from the lake, though most of the lakefront is on private property. Also, the staff at Big Bear Cool Cabins were very friendly and helpful.

The house warmed up pretty well. Location was fine but not in walking distance to stores. Nice neighborhood. The fireplace is not well designed and let's the smoke in. The glass coffee table can be dangerous for active toddlers! Didn't have any broom or vaccum cleaner, so we were having a hard time making sure our toddler didn't pick up stuff from the floor and eat.
