We stayed over labor day weekend 2012. The inside of the house and the deck was great. The problem was that we selected a lakefront cabin with a private docks so we could actually use the dock. But there was a boat in the dock already when we got there. Needless to say that prevented us from docking our own boat there, laying out on the dock, etc. Not to mention the dock was pretty weak - as in flimsy. Overall the place was average. Won't come back to this house due to the dock issue since that was half the reason we chose the house. We were all disappointed.

The cabin was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen had everything needed to cook daily, so we were very comfortable there. The view is wonderful too off the top deck. The supporting poles on the deck lean outward so if you have a pontoon boat, getting into the side deck is a little difficult so be careful when you try to dock or you will hit the canopy. Lot of fishing off the deck and we had good neighbors. I would come back to this cabin. When my son, so is in the military needed wired in internet access, the office people were very accomodating and let him use their office internet.

I have been to big bear a few times but this was the first time that I had rented through Cool cabins. Kelly Perez was great and helped me narrow down what I was looking for and this place was perfect. Very quiet, personal and beautiful. Every morning I woke up to spectacular views and perfect temperatures with nothing to hear but the wind in the trees and the fish jumping. I am going back to big bear in a few weeks with some friends and I want to stay in the same house again, highly recommended.

I would rate it a great experience mainly because I was with great friends. Most of the times, it's all the comapany that matters anyway. So this place was a good location. If you plan to cook your meals, make sure you are not too picky as the kitchen wares are old. The three bedrooms are located downstairs and if you are a light sleeper, you cannot find sleep at all because you can hear everything that is going on upstairs. Also check the downstairs patio for old trash that was left from the previous renters or the management will charge you.

I stayed at this cozy lakefront house that has 2 large decks that face the lake. There are views from every window. The house was perfect for us. The furniture is comfortable and the house was very clean. We especially enjoyed the location and it has a great dock so you can fish or feed the ducks. I would recommend this home to anyone.

We stay many times with cool cabins,but this time we were disappointed.Cabin is very old and needs some repairs.We find some used diapers on the deck.We find no dishwasher detergent,refrigerator was liking.Also owner left his boat on the dock and it took almost all space,it was very not comfortable to put and use our boat.Dock was half in the water, we spend hours to find somethihg to put there.I think if you rent the cabin with dock, it should be amty,so people can use it and can walk to the dock,not swim. I don't think we will rent tnis cabin again.

the cabin location was beautiful, the cabin was very cozy however the showers needed to be fixed and there was no shovel at the property for the several feet of snow we recieved.

The day we checked in we had no heater, we had to call and have the maintenance come in and install a new thermostat (19degrees outside). We try to turn on lights, almost half the light bulbs were out, and we called him in again and he replaced them. Downstairs window was broken and boarded up with bits of glass all over the floor (remember I was there with 3 small kids). I asked to have it fixed, they said no. It was only when I spoke to the manager and threatened to disputed the charges with my credit card that they got someone out there the next day and fixed it. The upstairs TV had no reception, the downstairs TV did not even turn on. Despite my numerous attempts neither TV was ever fixed. I have pictures I could show you that would disgust you of the situation with the window. This all should have been fixed b4 we got there, and not on my time on vacation.
