The cabin's description says occupies 3: it's very small for 2 people, the futon in the living room was very uncomfortable to sit & painful to lie down as the cushion is totally gone, it feels like falling into a big hole. The TV reception was terrible, it's so hard to watch our favorite shows. Out of 4 burners on the stove, only 1 burner (the smallest) was working. Read more
Thank you for leaving us your feedback, we wanted to take a moment to let you know we are looking into the issues you mentioned. The owner is replacing the futon with a sleeper sofa and we our maintenance department will be looking into the TV and the stove. We apologize for the inconvenience and we do hope you will be back to visit soon!

We received a good service. The cabin was really beautiful, there was a lot of amenities near the cabin. I love the lots of snow that there was when we visited it. Thanks a bunch

Small, not fancy 1 bedroom Cabin with a queen bed in the bedroom and a futon in the living room comfortable enough for a kid. Nice little kitchen. Good spot near Metcalf bay. None of the doors latched except the front & Back. Great for a small family who does not want to spend much and is going to be outside most of the time anyway. Pet friendly! (& no stairs)

The lodge was OK but needed more care. The extra blankets were dirty and worn-out (I guess the housekeepers never check them). Some stove burners did not work. Cable TV was not working well and we could not connect to internet. The bathroom would need its own heater during winter, it was too cold. Read more
On behalf of Big Bear Cool Cabins I would like to apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay; we have informed housekeeping of the issues noted in regards to the blankets. Maintenance was also sent to the home to address any issues with the stove, cable TV, and the internet. Thank you for taking the time to share the details of your stay; we hope you will give us another chance in the future.

It was nice to have a small place for you and that special someone. Quietness all around and the best thing was the 3 minute drive to the lake and also to the village. We even did our own little bar b que outside despite the weather condition. The amenities in the bathroom were bath and body works minature but they smelled great.
Great family and pet friendly cabin

Great location and quaint cabin! Great value for 1 bedroom and fold out couch bed. Nice restaurant Log Cabin and other places to eat nearby as well as resort and tube sledding nearby. Second time we have stayed in this cabin and loved it!
This is a very old small cabin.

The service was very good.
The cabin is very old, very very small, with almost no cooking utensils, and no sleeping facilities for 4 people as described. I mean, there is only one double bed and a small old sofa bed for one person. The kitchen does not have even a cutting board or a good knife to cut meat.
The location is great, near the main attractions and the lake.
We will not rent this cabin again. Read more

Cozy But Cool
Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011 | Bob & Rena
Our overall experience was positive. Cozy Cabin #4 was just that, but that's kind of what we expected. The bedroom was fine and the kingsize bed was comfortable. The futon in the living space was fine for a couch but very uncomfortable for the children as a bed. It is quite old and lumpy. The kids took turns sleeping on the floor instead of enduring it. The kitchen and appliances were fine, but the pots & pans really need to be replaced. the bathroom was adequate, but the shower curtin is torn and needs to be replaced and the toilet seat is very loose and the toilet itself is not secure to the floor. The BBQ was not usable. We met the owner and he was very nice. He replaced the BBQ on the 4th day. The biggest concern was the price. There is no way that this cabin is worth $100+ a day. We found lots of units in town in the $50-$70 range that looked bigger and nicer than CC#4.
Thank you for taking the time to share information regarding your stay; your feedback allows us to address any issues and follow up on them accordingly. We have sent maintenance to the property to look at the toilet seat and the toilet base, and we also forwarded the other issues to the owner of the property for consideration. Once again thank you for taking the time to share this information.

A little Pricey!

It was a nice place, but after spending over $200.00 for one night, in a place that shared common walls with other units, I would have expected a little bit more privacy and a bit more luxuries.

This was the filthiest and most oppressive place we have ever had the misfortune to stay at. Unfortunately, you already had our down payment and when we tried to upgrade, we could not get anyone in the office to cooperate. We could not get out of there fast enough. And quite frankly, we should have just walked and forfeited the money---which was a pretty good chunk of change. Read more

good location, needs some updating on the furniture, bed. The kitchen was very useful w. a stove, fridge, and sink. The best part was that it was pet friendly. Worth staying here if you are just a couple.

The cabin was cozy and warm, but the in the kitchen the toaster didn't work, the stove hood and light didn't work either. When we cooked the smoke alarm would go off and we would have to open the door to have it stop. This in 10 degree weather.

Our stay there was great. I brought my big dog and the only improvement would have been to have a fenced area so he could be off the leash at times and enjoy the outdoors.
