This cabin has a very rustic, nostalgic cabin like experience. Feels like an old ship, with lacquered walls everywhere. Lots of space and beautiful views and location! Only thing is that it's very old, with many spiders/critters. But that's part of the mountain experience. Do not look forward to playing pool, it's really an air hockey table but we really enjoyed it. Jacuzzi was amazing on deck with beautiful views. Overall great experience :)) beware of driveway during winter..very steep and cars can slide. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive if parking on it. They also have 2 reg spots where you don't have to park on driveway though.

Well from the outside I can't say that this cabin stays
10. From the outside it looks dinky, but once you get inside
It changes. The outside patio is very nice. Inside most of the light bulbs
Didn't work. the internet didn't work, or worked so poorly that we
Didn't even take the effort to use it. The so called dock
Is a sad excuse. Old and unsafe. it was overgrowing with foliage and grass.
The neighbors during our stay were less then pleasant , the made nose the entire stay and were using chemicals to clean their dock.
The also complained that we were shooting bb guns. Well all I can say is never stay here with kids, dogs, friends or with any intent of having fun.

I recently stayed at the Boulder Bay Cove Lakefront and the only things breathtaking was the view of the lake. The cabin itself is too expensive for its accommodations and maintenance. Stuff was broken when I arrived, the bed sheets not clean, it smelled as if it has never been cleaned, poor lighting, etc. It is an old cabin with crammed beds. I feel like I overpaid for this.
The photos online of it are great. It looks nothing like the photos. I think that it should be either cleaner and repaired or it should cost a lot less. -

We enjoyed our weekend at boulder bay cove lakefront! Its not as new as some other cabins but it so perfect for a true big bear experience. 4 bedrooms with lots of bed scenerios so actually sleeps 15 if needed. Beds are hard though - that is the one thing I wish would have been better. Large deck with hot tub perfect for after a day on the lake to BBQ, hang out and just enjoy the relaxation that is big bear. Having a dock is nice for renting a boat and being able to pick up and drop off people at the house as needed. Note master bedroom is only accessible from its separate entrance which means you must go outside to get to it. The entrance from inside the house is locked up so for our stay we didn't use the master bedroom. So overall - outside of the hard beds its a great place to stay and we would stay again!

Built especially for families! Easily sleeps 14 people. There's an upstairs room just for kids. Cabin packed full of board games and videos to keep the kids entertained. Jacuzzi and BBQ on private deck was a plus! Being right on the lake was perfect for early morning fishing!

This was the worst vacation we have ever had. Having 2 kids, really do not allow us to take as much time off as we should. We were very excited for this big bear vacation. I event spent more money to get a cool cabin. we paid $500 a night for the cabin, It stank as we walked in. Carpets were very disgusting and stinky. I even took some pictures of it. The cabin was very dirty. One of the bathrooms did not work. the grill was so disgusting that did not even turn on. i spent 2 hours cleaning it to get it to work. There were roaches and ants everywhere in the cabin. Kitchen was disgusting. we did not dare cooking anything in that kitchen. for $1000 that we spent on two night, we at least expected a clean place. Last time, we are renting a cabin through Cool Cabins.

i had bad experience one year ago renting from cool cabin. i took another chance and that was a big mistake.This time no working Jacuzzi, no heat on first day, non functional grill.

Upon receipt of your review I personally researched all records regarding your reservation as well as any maintenance records for Boulder Bay Cove Lakefront. I did see that you did call upon arrival and reported that the hot tub was not working. Per your signed rental agreement you did acknowledge and sign that "each property is individually owned. Amenities are listed to the best of our current actual knowledge..." you also signed and agreed to the clause stating "No refunds will be made for mechanical failure or malfunctions with spas..." Considering the fact that during your stay we did offer to move and upgrade properties and you refused, we still issued a generous refund due to the inconveniences you encountered. All other issues mentioned in this review were not reported therefore creating dissatisfaction with you; our guest. If you had reported the issues with the grill I can assure you that we would have exhausted all measures to ensure the delivery of a new barbecue. When there is no communication both parties are at a loss. Our guest’s satisfaction is key here at Big Bear Cool Cabins and to hear you were not satisfied we are truly sorry. Thank you once again; we hope you will reconsider and give us another chance in the future.

The cabin wasn't very clean; there were alot of ants and spiders in every corner and the dust was pretty heavy. We didn't really mind, however if cleanliness is a priority for you this cabin might not be a good choice. Also the railing on the deck was extremely loose and close to falling off which was nerve racking every time one of the children walked to close to it or attempted to lean against it before we shouted "don't lean on that!" and the steps with no railing were an issue for us, but if we didn't have small children it would not have been too bad. Overall the cabin is in a great location and accommodates a large family.

23rd Family Reunion in Big Bear

The best thing about this home was it did have enough room for all 14 in our family reunion to stay in the same house and it was right on the water with a great deck and dock. The biggest disappointment was that the house did not have internet access even though it was advertised as having it. However, the management company did reimburse us for the cable we needed to buy to get the internet. Also, the toilet was leaking considerably when we arrived, but a handyman was sent out to fix it. The t.v. in the living room was difficult to figure out. The bedsheets in one bedroom looked like they hadn't been changed from the previous guests. The advertised pool table was not a full size table and the gameroom was more like a game closet. Overall, the house met our needs but we thought it was overpriced considering the age of the house and the condition of the furniture, appliances, carpet, etc. We would stay here again next year if the price were lower.

Charming cabin! Older yes, so Charming describes it! Great location! Could use a little sprucing up! Dock, in fair shape would like to have had a ladder on dock! All in all thanks for the hospitality in Sharing your cabin. Cool Cabin staff very helpful!

Three families traveled to the cabin and we all loved it. The decor is certainly not modern, but the house had a great feel. All the amenities were available and you can tell the folks that stay here love the house. Access to the dock and lake were excellent!
My only sticking point having to repeatedly ask for information and was never given complete check-in instructions until I was driving up to the cabin and calling in for more information about location, checkin, key location, etc. -

We stayed here during out christmas vacation. The location was perfect. The heating in the house did not heat up the bedrooms but only the main room. Shower upstairs did not work properly. Listed 3 bathrooms and we only had access to 2. Garbage compactor would not open for us.

We absolutly adored the cabin and its location. We found cool cabins service to good, loved not having to bring up linens or spend a whole day cleaning bathrooms and vaccuming. We had just one complaint, and it had to do with the early snow and ice. Since it was our first time at this location we couldn't know how steep and icey the driveway would be. There were also stone steps to get to the house. In the future I would reccomend leaving a bag of sand and salt for your guests. We all have 4-wheel drive but still had trouble on the driveway, in addition every single one of us 10 people fell at least once on the stairs or driveway including two people on their 70's. Aside from that we loved the everything else.
