My family of 10 enjoyed the location of the property. The property was spacious yet cozy for everyone. The game room was lots of fun and the Jacuzzi was very nice. We enjoyed the walk to the lake, alpine slides and skiing at Bear Mountain. This was our favorite property and I highly recommend it.

A Wonderful Vacation Experience

We really enjoyed staying at the Bear Hug Hideout. The location is terrific - so close to the slopes. The rooms are spacious and the decorations are darling. The kitchen is nicely stocked with pans and dishes. The jacuzzi was fantastic and we loved the pool table!!! The only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5 was that some of the beds were very uncomfortable - namely the pullout sofa bed in the family room and the bed in the game room. Besides that is was perfect!

We loved this house. It is kid friendly and close to everything. We walked to the lake and rode our bikes to the mountain. This house truly feels like you're home on vacation. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
Perfect getaway spot

Bear Hug Hideout is perfect for a family getaway. It's location is right of Big Bear Blvd and is close to stores and the village. The game room upstairs was great because it allowed the young adults to enjoy fun, games, booze and commoradery without disturbing the "oldies". Everything was in working order and this cabin was equipped with everything. The rooms were well decorated to the theme of the house although if u have kiddos who are a little wary about stuffed bears looking at them while they sleep, plan on having them sleep in another room. The only complaint I have is that the cabin is very dark even when the windows and blinds are open. I personally like a well lit home. Other than that, I would recommend the Bear Hug Hideout to my friends and family. Thanks for allowing us to make memories in such a warm and welcoming home.

This cabin was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the great location that was only a short walk to the lake to watch the fireworks. I loved the hot-tub once we actually figured out how to use it. It had a pool table and a loft which was great but we ended up spending most of our time in the large family room since it was right near the kitchen, and cool for the summer months. The bedrooms were nice and spacious and we could have even fit more people with all the couches. The BBQ was brand new and the kitchen was fully stocked with every plate that we could ever need. An extra plus for this cabin was that the front yard had grass so we could play badminton. Overall it was a great time in Big Bear and I would rent this cabin again.
Great place for kids!!

Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. Jacuzzi was perfect, just enough for the 5 of us... Great location close to the park.
We had 5 kids with us and the house had space for all the ages... Just perfect for us.
Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, so it made it really easy to cook meals.
The only downfall for the house was that the showers had low water pressure in both showers... But we managed taking turns...
Awesome & very roomy

My first time coming to Big Bear. Got this place for a 3 day weekend getaway with friends. It was a little expensive but it occupies 8-10 so we split it evenly. The location is great. Only 3-4 minutes driving to The Village(15 min walking distance). There's a pool table upstairs with a stereo system & TV. Fully functional Jacuzzi, outdoor BBQ grill, & 10 min. walking distance to a park and lakeside
Plenty of room and a cozy cabin!

The cabin had plenty of room and was very cozy during our winter stay. The living room is very big and gave us pleanty of room to play games. The seating is a little limited in both the living room and dining room but we made the best of it. For such a big living room there could have been another sofa or more seating. The rooms were small but the beds were comfortable. The play room upstairs was perfect and a great get away for the teenage boys in our group. The negative was the cabin was not very clean. There was old food left in the fridge and the place was very dusty. It looked like it had been just wiped down and had not had a deep cleaning in quite a while. There were lots of blankets but they were piled in closets and in corners. Since they were not folded or put away it was hard to tell if they were clean or had been left there used from previous renters. The kitchen had everything we needed and was well stocked. The cabin is centrally located and has a nice fenced in back yard. The hot tub never got up to temperature. It seemed to take a very long time to heat up.

Upstairs bonus room a plus. Kids could play up there and give grown up
Ears a break. Large living room allows for plenty of room for everyone.
Front and back yard great for little ones as well. My two major complaints
Would be the second bathroom which smelled terribly of mold/mildew ( possibly coming from the carpet); and that the house did not have enough lighting, especially at night and especially in the living room and kitchen areas.
Great family getaway spot.

My family convened in Big Bear this year for an early Christmas in the mountains, and really enjoyed our accommodations at Bear Hug Hideout. The cabin was spacious and comfortable and well decorated with a rustic, bear theme. It is in a great location - very close to the lake, a park and the downtown. Getting firewood delivered by Cool Cabins was a great idea.
Loved the spacious, clean, comfortable cabin.

This cabin is really big, super clean. We loved the pool table and jacuzzi, plus their game room was full of board games which we also played with. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice, it is so much better and spacious than what it looks in pictures. It was 10 of us and we had so much fun there was always something to do. The best part was that it was fully stocked, it had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning. The only thing I recommend that we forgot was the big trash bags, since we have to drive the trash to a trash site, we were stuck moving a bunch of small grocery bags full. It would've been so much easier if the cabin put one or two big trash bags.
Nice place, but needs a much better cleaning service!

The cabin was much as advertised, although we had several problems. First, when we arrived, at the stated check-in time, the cleaning lady was still on the premises - she left with towels still in the dryer. However, we then discovered several that several things had not been properly cleaned. There was a half eaten cookie upstairs, dirty mugs left on the patio and piles of unfolded sheets in the closets. Also, shower was left dirty and a bag with used disposable diapers was left on the side of the house. After all that, we had concerns about the cleanliness of the sheets and towels we were using.
We choose this cabin because we wanted a place with a hot tub, unfortunately, when we got there the unit wasn't working properly. The service was called and did come out several hours later, and the system was reset and up and working the next day.
Cool Cabins was extremely gracious and helpful with each of these problems even offering to change cabins for us.
Very dirty and dusty experience !!!

We are using 4 years the service from cool cabins and they are great!
But the last visit was very Bad experience for us!
The house was very dirty, pile of dirty towels next to the dryer, not fresh bedding, heavy dust everywhere including spider webs in the kids room and hairs in the bathtub. The house itself looks old and need to be renovated.we were lucky to find the vacuum cleaner and to clean it from the dust and webs...my daughter refused to sleep in a kids room because of that! But we could not fix the squeaking beds, awfull mattresses, the flimsy windows that you could not even open wide...and so on...Bad Experience!!!
It's just not worth the money you invest for your vacation!Because even for free of charge I would not go there again!!!

Our stay at Bear Hug Hideout was fun and relaxing. We had everything that we needed. It is well stocked with linens, dishes, and pans. It is very peaceful and spacious. My only concern was that the Hot tub did not seem to be functioning properly. It stated the temp. was 100 degrees, but barely felt warm. Other than that, we loved the cabin and we would definitely come back again.

We've been coming up to Big Bear each winter for 3 years now and I can honestly say Bbcc was the easiest and best time we've ever had. The house was inviting, clean, and located less than a mile away from Snow Summit. Checking in was a piece of cake, everything worked, there was no hassle, and the staff was very accommodating. We are definitely going to use Bbcc again for next year's trip.

We had limited expectations as this was our first cabin rental, but the place exceeded them easily.
The living area is very large and still cozy. We had several friends with us and they were all amazed how pleasant the house was to spend time in. The game room is great though the pull out bed was set up there which cut into some space and there was no foosball table. The stairs to the game room are very steep and if you have a toddler with a stair fixation like we do, it can be a bit of a trial but that's hardly a knock against this rental.
There are a ton of linens, blankets, towels etc... so much so that some of the closets are close to stuffed with them. Plenty of dishes and cooking equipment as well. It doesn't have strong water pressure, that was the only moderate complaint we heard.
It's very close to stores and snow parks. we didn't go down to the lake but its' very close as well.
