      Cossaboom - cozy

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Cossaboom is the perfect cabin for a romantic getaway. You feel rightat home as soon as you walk through the door. We loved it. The place is cozy, perfect for 2. The only issue I had was with the drive way. It was covered with snow, impossible to remove with the plastic ice shovel provided. Getting my car out in the mornings was tricky. But other than that we loved the cabin. Check-in was easy and quick.

Cute cabin - great for long weekend

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We drove up from Las Vegas for a four day mini vacation. Cabin is big enough for a couple or a couple and one small child. It was decorated with lots of little homey touches, had Internet and cable. The only downside is that you are given one set of towels for each guest for your entire stay so plan accordingly

      Perfect for two

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My husband and I stayed in the cabin for our "baby" moon. We were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was nice and cozy and had all the essentials. I especially enjoyed the cute decorations throughout.

My only complaints are that the bed was a little soft (I personally prefer a firmer mattress and sturdier frame). Also the laminate needs to be replaced throughout the kitchen and bathroom area. I know the floor itself is clean, but it looks dirty. It was also a little warm in the bedroom--even with 2 fans.

      wonderful!

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in June 2012

my girlfriend and i wanted to get out of the city and take a trip up to the mountains. it was my first time visiting big bear lake, but she had rented with big bear cool cabins before and suggested we look there. we came across cossaboom cabin on the site and thought it looked lovely (in addition to having other great reviews), so we decided to go for it. upon arrival, we instantly knew we made the right decision. it was clean, it was cozy, it was everything we expected and more. the owners clearly care about their property and take great care of it. our only regret is that we could only stay for one night! we seriously cannot say enough good things about this cabin. we will absolutely be back to big bear and when we are, cossaboom cabin will again be our number one choice for accommodations. thank you!

Although it was smaller than I expected, it suited our needs perfectly. My 5 year old son thought it was our new house and didn't want to leave. If you're looking for a cozy little getaway for 2 maybe 3 max, Cossaboom is a good choice.

Loved the snow and the cabin experience!

Left on 12/16/2011 for a stay in December 2011

This was my first time in the snow & enjoyable first time staying in a cabin. This cabin was pretty well stocked and supplied basic cookware needs. There were pots, pans, utensils, small kitchen appliances, plates, etc. Most other needs were met in the bathroom and the bedroom had extra blankets, sheets and pillows in the room. Since the stay was in the winter and I wasn't sure how many extra comforters was available, I had extra. Bring a heater or extra heavy blanket for the bedroom in the winter because that's the only room with no heater and the blanket on the bed is really light weight.

The cabin was suppose to have a shovel but just a call away @ the cool cabin office and someone would be right out with one. We didn't use the shovel as much as expected because there was someone in the morning clearing the snow away from the stair in front on the door and next to the parking space. A little unsure what the noise was, but once we found out we were pleasantly surprised with the snow plowing guy.

Overall great stay. All cleaning supplies, tissue, and even travel size shampoo, conditioner and soap were there. Everything you need to keep your cabin tidy and liveable. My first snow experience was great and the neighborhood was beautiful. I took some nice pictures as my man and I went for a morning jog. The cabin is in a good location just minutes from snow summit and 7 eleven. Checking-in was great and all our questions were answered, customer service was excellent. Checking-out was easy and quick.

      Relaxing

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in September 2011

The cabin was hard to find. They need to put up lighted house # for night. The inside was charming and had alot of little nic naks to look at. The bed was nice but no heater in the room so you had to wait for the rest of the cabin to get real warm. The TV was dated but useful. I have a big issue with the couch needs a new one. We brought our own wood up for the fireplace which was real nice. The location was close to everything. They need a new couch

A getaway from the Las Vegas heat

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We were pleasantly surprised that choosing a cabin from the Internet could produce such success. Big Bear Cool Cabins were wonderful through the whole processs. From our first email to them to our picking up the keys in their office. A pleasant women helped us (sorry I didn't get her name). All the instructions we needed were verbalized to us along with printed material (directions, etc). We knew we hit the jackpot when we pulled up to the cabin and a neighbor waved hello to us and said we were going to love this cozy, adorable cabin. She was so right. The cabin is adorable and cozy. Perfect getaway for a 3 day weekend from the LV heat.

The cabin had been freshened and the fridge turned on before our arrival. We unpacked our items and relaxed outside under the pine trees. Started the charcoal bbq - lucky we bought a bag - Amenities listed gas bbq - no where in sight. The drip system came on and water gushed out of one broken tip - called Big Bear the next morning and it was fixed in hours. The cabin was clean for the most part. There was a green rug by the shower that was not clean - had a feeling it should have been by the front door - but in any case it needed to be washed. Knick knacks and items on top of fridge need to be washed. Just like at home items get a little greasy overtime and need to be washed. Some of the blinds need some attention - could not pull them up or down. The bed was comfortable but needs a mattress pad - remember this is a "cozy, romantic" cabin!

All in all we loved the place. My husband (6'4) needed to duck when walking from room to room. That said it wouldn't stop us from renting this place again. Reason why I listed all that we did is because we want to stay here again and hope these little items get some TLC.

      Winter bliss in Cossaboom cabin

Left on 03/26/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Upon arriving at Cossaboom cabin, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, we were quickly able to attain what we drove up to Big bear for: quiet relaxation in the woods. We felt a relaxing mood and comfort thanks to the comfortable furniture, the quiet surroundings, and the perfectly accomodated furnishings. We highly recommend this cozy and clean cabin to all who are looking for a place to escape without being out in the wild woods. The cabin is close enough to the 2 main ski resorts and also close to businesses and shops, stores, Big bear Village, and restaurants. The cabin evokes that getaway atmosphere without feeling like it is a "rental". The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate for a small family. The living area was perfect for viewing tv in front of a warm fire eating s'mores. Weather prevented us from relaxing outside in the yard, which needs a low private fence or some shrubbery to provide privacy from the adjacent residence. But the yard would be a nice respite on a sunny afternoon with a good book and steamy coffee. The cabin/residence next door was unoccupied during our stay. Cossaboom sits on a corner, and the front door is convenient for dropping off passengers in all weather. The cabin has an ambience that causes one to feel like they need not leave it to experience escape and solitude, rest and rejuvenation; much needed in this day and age.

The blankets and the towels were not clean at all. I am grateful that I took my own covers and towels cause the smell was not even cleaned smelled like old smell. I traveled with my husband and my 4 yr old child and didn't dare use the towels on my son. I would recommend this to a friend with tips to take own personal belongings. The location was great for what we went to do play in the snow.

Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Location was great, house is on a corner lot with areas for children to play. Nice neighborhood. House was fine for spouse and young child, but it is quite small and not ideal for my husband who is 6' 3" as he nearly hit his head several times. All in all, it was a fun time and we enjoyed it.
