"Cabiny Cabin" - Four bedroom, two bath, two story cabin very close to Snow Summit with two wood burning fireplaces, cable TVs, DVD players, washer/dryer, and full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, and more. Family room has game table with bumper pool, dart board, cable TV, DVD player, and wet bar. Deck in the pines and barbecue.
Bedroom one has a king bed.
Bedroom two has a king bed.
Bedroom three has two double beds, cable TV, and a deck.
Bedroom four has two twin beds.

The cabin was ok only, we think they need to get new beds, really bad condition too soft, also no internet access, that was a no good all the gadgets for kids wasted. Good point, really close to the summit, walking distance, the linens, towels, paper, bags and more stuff for the house really neat.

As the owners of the cabin, Gallagher's West, we have taken great care to decorate & furnish this place in the vintage period that befits its age. It is unfortunate that we have to include meager electronics for those guests that need to be "entertained" & do not come to enjoy the serenity & beauty of this mountain area.
We do not make a monetary profit renting this cabin but merely wish to share some of the benefits of a quiet, less stressful era with others.
It is also, to our dismay, unsettling to observe the complete disregard some "guests" have for property that is not theirs!
Our guest log book from over the years attests to wonderful visits experienced by many appreciative families. -

the house has character but i wish i could say the same for furniture.
The cabin is very old. the furniture is very old and chairs are broken. there is not any descent entertainment in the house the biggest TV was a 23". There are 2 more TVs that are probably from 25 years ago. there was a bumper pool table that only takes space in the living room. I can not say how old were kitchen utensils but they look like the ones I used have when I was in college in 1977 "I am not joking". the covers on chairs, couch and sofas were so worn we did not use them we were afraid the might torn apart.the porch light was not working it was dark at night. I can not believe some one still is holding on the furniture in that house. if they spend about 5 to 6K on furniture they will have very nice vacation home. Location is excellent the rooms are very nice size and the two kitchen is nice too. Personally I will not go back unless the change the entire furniture. -

The cabin was kinda "old". Dark with old woods.
The carpet was old n dirty. We are clean people.
We like contemporary cabins. We left early because most
Of us did not like the rooms, nor the beds.
We didn't want to stay the second night.
Again, this cabin function well, with no problem at all.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend that we spent in this cabin. It was roomy enough for the 8 of us. Two bathrooms and a large kitchen with seating for the whole group. The beds were comfortable and the layout was as advertised. We enjoyed playing poker on the game table. The parking was easy -- we had 3 vehicles. We would seriously consider renting this cabin again.

I reserved this place way in advance. The check in process was quick and easy. Definitetly need a GPS just to get around. The cabin is nice, cozy, decent. It has 2 living rooms so plenty space for friends to hang around. The door knobs are old and very hard to lock. It has patio outside but weather is crazy, so no time for outside fun. Shower in hot water was a big problem. After 1 shower, we had to wait for a very long time for the water to heat up again. Imagine you have 10 people, then good luck waiting. Trash dumping sucks... Anyhow, overall is great considering that it is three blocks away from Snow Summit!

Gallagher's West was decorated in a very homey inviroment... There were games and tv's, the location was convient, not as convient as they describe. I was very disappointed as to the cleaness of the house.
The kitchen had kitchen grim on the chairs, and these were in dis-repare, chairs were not comfortable, the base boards were dirty, the spreads were old and worn out. The down star bathroom had mildew in it. Being a house keeper myself, I know this can be removed by a spray of clorox.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 12/14/2010
