Not a bad stay for the money. Easy Check In/Out process. Very close walk to the Bear Mountain. Would like to have had more serving dishes (bowls to make salads, serve hot veggies, ect.)as well as more than 1 dish towel. Only had 2 towel sets for 4 people when we arrived:( Queen bed in bedroom 1 is extremely uncomfortable for 2 to sleep in!!! I had to sleep with my son after the first night, it was so bad! Also, being pet friendly, I thought there would be more of a fenced in yard. Very small back yard. Would recommend more instructions on use of TV. Internet didn't work well at all! Read more
Thank you for leaving this helpful review. We just wanted to take a second to update you and let you know that we have had the issues you listed resolved and we would like to thank you for bringing them to our attention. The homeowner went ahead and had us purchase brand new cook ware. He also replaced the Queen bed and fixed the internet. We do hope you find our response useful and that you will give us a call if you ever decide to visit our Beautiful City again!

too much snow
Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012 | ca mom
The cabin was nice and cozy.
But it took a few hours to get in the parking space since we had to clean the snow on the drive way. All the stuff inside was nice and kneat but there was no cold water in the kitchen. It was too hot to wash the dishes only with the hot water.
The location is very good, though.

We had a nice experience. Although the surround sound was not hooked up and in pieces in the closet and there was no cellular reception at all for at&t; service. The heater worked great, the water was nice and hot. Giant black spider from the extra blankets bit my girlfriend in the leg, may wanna shake out the extra linens before guest arrive. I would stay here again for the price. Read more
Thank you for the favorable review! Maintenance has been sent to the home to address the issue with the surround sound.

decent cabin but smike alarm chirping was frustrating

Generally the cabin was neat and clean. The smoke alarm needed a battery and was chirping. I did not want to call late at night and have someone come out, so I didn't call. It seems that if someone had walked through the place before we rented it they would have noticed.
best 4th of july experience!

My boyfriend and I spent our 2nd anniversary here july 4th weekend. The firework show over the lake was amazing!!We had a wonderful time bringing our dogs with us as well. The cabin was in a great location near the ski slopes, plenty of hiking trails and a short drive from shopping areas and the lake. The service was fantastic and the cabin was clean, comfortable and was such a relaxing getaway. Next time we will definitely stay here again.

Good deal for proximity to the slopes

The cabin was simple, clean, and comfortable. It was within walking distance to the slopes, which was great. Unfortunately, we were caught in bad weather on the way into Big Bear and needed to do a late check-in. Cool Cabins was accommodating, although the late check-in location was a bit tricky to find. It was a good deal for the price. The only real problem was that the oven timer kept going off and we couldn't figure out how to stop it. That was annoying.
Good economical cabin

Overall we enjoyed our stay there. It was clean and well maintained. The only thing I should mention that we could not use barbecue place as we were not able to find it. We had called customer service but we were not entertained properly. The reply we got was "It might have covered in snow". I think they needed to take care of it. But it was good. our stay was satisfactory.
Very good location, and good memories.

Took my dad here for his 50th Bday. Brought the pets and the snowboard gear. Bear resort about 1/4 mile away, good walk. I love this location because we can cook lunch back at the cabin and relax for an hour or two, then back to the slopes.
Only issue i had was at checkin, the staff was not hospitable. It was about 9:30pm when we checked in. The staff greeting me nicely. I went to the RR. Once i got out i had one staff member waiting outside of it, they gave me an odd look when i came out. They didn't even use the RR when i vacated, i didn't throw a bomb or anything. Now i went back to the check in desk. She asked me if i used their service before, i said yes which is true. Soon as i said that, other reps were interupting my check in process by talking about their personal life with each other. And not making me feel welcome at all.
Carpets in the cabin were very dirty, i'm a guy. And when i think something is dirty, its dirty. We made use of the fireplace each day/night. There is a little dog run for your pets.
Overall it was a great experience! Just wish the crew at cool cabins was nicer and more appreciative towards someone contributing towards their checks.
