As rental homes go, especially one permitting dogs, this one was in excellent shape & had plenty of room for our two families w/ kids (ages 5 - 15). The putting green, horse shoes, dog run, and foosball table gave us things to do in the sun and rain. The carpets seemed like-new, there were plenty of dishes, pans, etc well marked on cabinet doors; it is walking distance to the town, but a lack of sidewalks in the area makes it risky to walk.
A few things kept this from being 5 Stars: lack of AC (and initially a lack of fans that worked, but maintenance did bring two new ones) because w/ an 80F day the upstairs master BR stayed hot all night long, a few tvs weren't connected to cable (not necessarily a bad thing w/ kids), 2 remotes didn't work, hot tub got algae after 1 day, broken bottles in make shift fire pit in back yard, & lack of a late check out (cleaning crew were there @ 10:45 and requested entry at 11:00 even though I was hauling stuff out; this resulted in not checking 1 closet & forgetting items that the management charged us $25 to go look for & additional $ to mail out.)
When I tried reserving rentals in this area I asked agencies how far the homes were from the lake, & what the conditions were from the home to the water; this organization, like others, would/could not give me an answer. Because Southern CA is in drought I know water levels are much lower and there is more exposed land that is marsh like. For anyone interested in knowing the water is 100 yards from the back of the house, about 80 yards of that is a dirt/beach/rock area, & the last 20 yards is the mud/marsh. The lake to very shallow at the dock area, I fear jet-skis would get caught in the plants at the docks; it was difficult enough moving our SUP boards from the dock water and even 25 yards from the shore without getting fins tangled a bit.
More things were beyond control of the owner. A large pit-bull mix named "Lucy" or "Lucky" that weighed 120 + lbs roamed the back yard & beach on 2 days w/ no owner. Myself & other parents in neighboring rentals & hotels, kept kids at a distance & held our own dogs on leashes; the dog's owner never answered phone, & Animal Control came out. The neighbor on the property line has a dilapidated boat w/ plants growing around/in it (it looks like a decoration) & became upset when my autistic 8 yr old (rushing to bathroom) peed on it; don't touch the boat or walk on the rock stairs!
Would you recommend this vacation rental to a friend?

The photos dont do this cabin any justice of how warming this home is. Upon entering, the high ceilings welcome you with an amazing amount of natural light beaming through the windows.
What I enjoyed the most upon entering Logey Lakefront was the amazing amount of kitchen supplies that were for our use. Each cabinet was neatly labeled with the contents inside. This made it easy for me to find the supplies I needed for prepping, eating, and cleaning. It was also a pleasant surprise to see that Cool Cabins has upgraded their offerings of cleaning supplies and bathroom supplies. My previous visits to other cabins left me to use previously used sponges and old paper towels. Unlike the past, Logey Lakefront was well equipped with all your necessities. Including grilling equipment for the grill outside.
Our jacuzzi was cleaned and tested the moment we arrived. Maintenance brought an air mattress immediately after I called Cool Cabins and informed them that the pull-out couch in the loft was broken and unusable.
Also, I believed the loft would be its own floor because of the technical term of what a loft is. The loft is shared with the master bedroom on the second floor. It wasnt a deal breaker upon arrival but I would like for it to have been clearly mentioned in the advertisements.
Aside from the broken pull-out couch, our only other big concern was that there was no air conditioning. The home got very warm throughout the day because of the natural light shining through from sun-up all the way till sun-down. As beautiful as that aspect may be, it made the cabin uncomfortably warm.
Overall, the cabin was an amazing asset to our unforgettable trip. I would most certainly recommend this cabin to others. As for myself, I would need a cabin with an air conditioner and an unbroken pull-out sofa for the guests.
Nice enough place, but for more than $425/night I expected it to be a little more luxurious.
Also, the beach in front of the property was littered with cigarette butts and broken glass. The house itself was quite clean though.
Cool Cabins folks made the rental part really easy - they were courteous and professional.
Enjoyable and Relaxing

Loved the location of the cabin and the warm comfortable feel of the interior.
There were a few items that needed attended to when we checked in. The microwave did not work, nor did the coffee maker and the frame of the sleeper couch was broken so it could not be used. I called the office and they sent a very friendly and helpful maintenance guy who brought a new microwave, new coffee maker and a blow up mattress for us to use. I can't remember his name, but he is an asset to the company!
There were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. The only suggestion that I can offer is to have more towels available. It would of been nice to have extra towels in the bathroom cabinets to use when we came out of the hot tub. =)
Good Times in a Decent Cabin

So this was my third year in a row renting a lakefront cabin at BBL. Logey Lakefront looks beautiful from the outside. The putting green and horseshoe areas are in good shape. There are 2 putters and 2 golf balls in the closet next to the front door. The horseshoes are in the small sand boxes. The water level has dropped dramatically so most of the docks in that area are useless and have run aground. A couple adjacent docks are in about 2 feet of water. Lots of weeds and tons of ducks in that area. Fishing is non-existent given those conditions. The interior was decent sized but not big. Tv in dining area and living room. Only one of the burners on the stove lights properly. Plenty of cookware, dishware and utensils. Microwave above stove is broken but there is a separate smaller microwave that works. 2 smaller bdrms on the 1st Floor. Tv remote in the bdrm w/ the bunk bed does not work since it's not for the correct TV. Bunk bed is full size (top and bottom) - not like the photo. Washer and dryer worked great. 2nd floor - loft area was a bit messy. Large bean bag to sleep on. Queen sofa sleeper was missing a cushion. Foosball table was in bad shape - several broken pieces. Master bdrm is big. King bed is raised. Also, has a PC but didn't attempt to use it. Master bdrm tends to be cold b/c there is only one small vent to heat up such a large area. Lots of extra pillows and blankets in the closets. Outside patio was nice w/ plenty of chairs. The Jacuzzi worked fine but didn't use it. Overall, a nice cabin but the price is too high compared to similar cabins. The Big Bear Cool Cabins staff were excellent as usual. Special thanks to Griselle and Karie. See you next year.

my wife and I have stayed at Logey Lakefront for the past three years. It is just the two of us and our dog. She is a mature well behaved nine-year-old shepherd. For the price. I am a physician and it is important that I have access to the Internet. I was disappointed to find that there was a problem with Internet availability known prior to our arriving but not corrected until after we had been in residence for two days. There was also a long-standing problem with a leaking water conduit under the sink which had shorted out a light and the garbage disposal. These repairs had to be undertaken while we were in residence.
Unlike years in the past I was pleased to find that the residence was available when we arrived late on Monday afternoon.
My wife and I enjoy our experience at logey lakefront and I bring these criticisms to your attention only to assist you in improving the experience for others. It is an exquisite home in an ideal location on the water with all the amenities that one could desire. I would not hesitate to return next year for a pleasant vacation.

The place is very comfortable and well organized. Lots of room for guests and lots of activities are provided. My husband and son loved the foosball table in the upstairs loft with the grand view of the lake.
I enjoyed the peaceful cool air of the mornings sipping my coffee on the patio watching the lake.
You couldn't ask for more with a jacuzzi tub built on the patio-it was Devine!
Overall we had a great time escaping the scorching heat of the high desert.

Great cabin! Perfect location, not far from town and right down the street from the boat rental place. Cabin was clean and neat. Great for families with kids and pets. Great for fishing. The hot tub was awesome, and you have an amazing view.
Customer service at cool cabins was great. We were short on towels so I called the office and they delivered 12 towels within 10 minutes. The sofa bed was broken, but it wasn't a deal breaker for us. I let cool cabins know about it and they said they would get it fixed.
The only thing I would recommend is having Tupperware containers with lids for leftover food and dish towels.
We would book this cabin again in a heartbeat.

My wife my dog and myself arrived Close to four p.m. to find the residence was not ready. When we did gain entry there are numerous flies in no flying insect spray. We also were not given an appropriate code to open the entry door. Furthermore we had specifically requested additional and specific food items or brands which were not purchased as agreed to prior to the visit. In addition we paid a large premium for what we thought was going to be access to a number of current movie releases available on demand via the cable system. What we found was that there was a package of three subpar Dvds and trash munchies.
my wife had also requested a delivery to Logey Lakefront of a Surprise anniversary present for me, it was our 45th anniversary.she made many inquiries at the Cool cabins office to see if the package was delivered during the time of our stay.the answer was no. After arriving home and spending a great deal of time contacting the office it appears that the package had been there the entire time. This suggests that there is a great deal of incompetence, organization or poor management.
lastly, as we experience previously the dock is littered with duck excrement which is not only unappealing but a health hygiene risk not quite as severe as Hanta virus
I paid a great deal of money to secure four days of stress-free and enjoyable vacation time from my busy professional activities.I am very disappointed with the results of this Vacation compared to my previous time spent at Logey Lakefront.
I also hope that this response to your inquiry is available to the owners of Logey Lakefront. Read more
Thank you for taking your time to write this review. First off I would like to sincerely apologize for any miscommunication or errors on our behalf. I have taken quite a bit of time to examine and investigate the statements you made in this review. I would like to respond by saying that I found there to be some inaccuracy in some of the content that was posted. On the day you checked in one of our employees received a phone call from you inquiring as to whether or not there was air conditioning and also to report that there was bugs. You then came to our office where we happily gave you bug spray. Upon your departure we received another phone call from you and you stated that you could not re-enter the cabin, we then promptly made a new door code for you. As far as the food stock we are not generally accustomed to taking specific requests unless it is for allergy purposes but we made an exception in this case because you were a prior guest. When we received the fax with a specific list of items we were more than happy to accommodate you. We even went back to the store to purchase more items when we found that you were not satisfied. Next, I apologize for the confusion however unfortunately we do not offer a Movie Package of any sort and we would have been happy to refund you in full for the Movie Basket had we been informed that you we’re less than impressed with it. In regards to the package you mentioned that we were supposed to deliver we have no record of this and that is not a service that we would typically provide so I apologize if there are some wires being crossed on this issue but I hope that you found the package in question. Lastly I would just like to say that our staff works very hard and sometimes we are unsuccessful in satisfying each guest completely but we would love to try again. Please give us a call if you would like to allow us to do so.
Thank you & have a wonderful day!

The location was great. Priced too high. Dvd player did not work, no remotes for tvs except for Master Bedroom. Dryer turn on button was broken, Some of the burners on the stove did not turn on when the others were being used. Cabin smelt like dog pee when we got there had to open all the windows. Very hot upstairs in master bedroom.

It was a great vacation. I'm not sold with cost of this particular cabin. The location is great. Right on the water with a private dock. I've stayed in much nicer, cleaner and better equiped cabins for less money. I think they need to start looking at the competition a little closer. Cool Cabins was accomodating, but won't book this particular cabin through them again.

The Logey Lakefront is the best lakefront cabin that big bear cool cabins has to offer that is reasonably priced. i tried booking another cabin for my vacation this year and it wasn't nice at all, then big bear cool cabins transferred me to another one that once again wasn't nice at all. lastly they were able to put me in the logey (since i stayed in this cabin last year i knew what to expect) and by far out of the 3 big bear cool cabins tried placing me in. Thank you to the cabin owners and big bear cool cabins for the great customer service and providing an amaizing cabin!!!

1/2 mile to Village and Cool Cabin check in. House is around 2000sq ft. and has everything you can possibly need (towels and sheets could use upgrading). The kitchen is fully loaded with a 5 burner stove, pyrex mixing bowls ,storage containers, ziploc bags, and aluminum foil. Bose ipod dock in kitchen along with Keurig coffee maker (bring extra K cups) and 2nd regular coffee maker. We had an issue with the front door not working, Made a 2nd call to the rental company so we could leave the house (the door wouldn't lock but was fixed by locksmith). Overall fairly clean, about equivalent of 3- 3 1/2 star hotel stay. The couch, bunk bed and patio furniture have been updated from the pictures. Outside the grass is artificial turf and the dog run is nice. There's putters and golf balls for the putting green, horse shoes, a fooseball table and plenty of TVs. Himalayan Restaurant delivers to house w/ $30 purchase (recommend for Indian food), Cowboy Steakhouse expensive but good (happy hour deals) is 2 min walk, Red Barron delivers (good), Village Pizza (decent sandwiches), Grizzly Manor Cafe (good- long wait and slow service, try blueberry pancakes or biscuits and gravy). Starbucks, Stater Bros, Vons, CVS and Riteaid all 2 ½ miles away. Moonridge animal Park 3 miles away (little pricey, small but lots of animals). Ski slope couple miles away and lots of hiking trails within few miles (Champion Lodgepole Pine was easy hike but off road, off of Mill Creek Road)
Overall very comfortable. Layout is modern and the deck is awesome with a table to seat 6 outside with extra chairs, spa is on the same deck and has a great view. Plenty of afternoon shade in the summer and is a great place to eat dinner and stargaze. If you do nothing else, you can lounge on the deck and feed the ducks. Views from inside are great as well. Stayed for a week but I'd love to come back for a long weekend! Kids will love this place. :)

We received very good service from the people at Cool Cabins. After a little confusion over the alarm,(we set it off and didn't know the code to turn off) everything went pretty well. Has wonderful views, a really cool little sandy beach for the kids to play and a great sized deck. We enjoyed the horseshoes and little golf area.. even caught a few fish from the dock. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary utensils. The bed in the loft area was unusable and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom was pretty noisy but that is the only negatives to the whole trip. Had a great time. Thanks for the memories.. We will be back.

We came here with 9 people total and we all fit very comfortably. The cabin was well kept and very comfortable. At one point we realized the outside lights were not working, however somebody came right away and fixed that for us. We also noticed the dishwasher wasn't working on the morning that we were leaving, but it was already too late to call.
Great cabin, great location (within walking distance to the village). We would definitely stay here again!

We have been renting cabins in Big Bear for 10 years and this is the best one yet. The cabin was beautifully furnished and not shabby like some tend to be. The beds were more comfy then home. The location right on the lake with those beautiful views of the mountains, sunrise/sunsets was very peaceful. Enjoyed the hot tub, putting green, horseshoes. Had some great bbqs on the deck. This will be our summer/fall choice from now on. Our guests had never been to BBL before and they also will be choosing this cabin for there future family trips. Thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful home with us.

The home, location and amenities in general are great. I would recommend this cabin to others and would like to visit this cabin again. However, I think that Cool Cabins needs to make sure that the cabin is ready at the time that was promised and they should be honest if it is not ready. As a result of Cool Cabins inability to honor the check in time it put a huge damper on our first day of vacation. In addition, everything should be in working order prior to check in and the furniture that is not in working order should be removed. e.g. torn outside patio furniture, bbq, etc. Putting that aside great vacation.

We really enjoyed staying at the Logey Lakefront it was so great to be on the lake. We brought our boat and it was great to have out own dock to go out whenever we wanted to. it was so relaxing sitting on the deck and watching the sunrise and sunset.Only one complaint it would have been nice to have comfortable chairs and table outside on the deck since that is where we spent most of the time. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
