I'm very satisfy to this rental, house is big and accommodated 12 family members very comfortable!, some of the furniture is old but nothing that is that concerning. House is in excellent location near to the lake. I came in winter time, but I will be renting in summer also. Rental crew was exceptional!

we go to big bear 2 time's a year once in the late winter and summer or early fall we love the house's we stay in but think they could big clean its the worker's not doing their job right we took a baby we put him on the floor and when we picked him up his clothes were black also Ithink u guy's should give dicount's for returning we have stayed with ya'll for year's and nothing on averge 4 days $1255.00

The home was spacious and clean.
Best of all it was right on the water with a small snady beach for the grandkids.
Very quiet neighborhood.

we had a good experience with cool cabins they were very efficient.the house was a different story.We have rented many vacation homes in various locations,this was the first time we had to clean up the house inside and out before we stayed.we understand there are spiders in the mountains but this was out of control,there was spider webs everywhere ants all over the kitchen and they got in our food,we also got bug bites,not sure if they were fleas or bed bugs.I dont think we would waste our money on paoli lake house again.

So bad very good location but did not take good care of it.
So dirty, Spiders every where, Bedrooms furniture looks like been collected from the trash and most of the electrical recepticals upstairs are not working as well as upstairs restroom lighting.
no blinds at master bedrooms windows.

The location and the view was amazing and the boat dock was a plus. The house was a totally different story. The master bath had broken shower handles and could not be used and nobody came to fix it like they promised. The whole house was dirty, the blinds were hard to open and they were filled with dust and spider web. The deck was large and furnished but the mis matched furnitures were all over the place and messy. Nothing about the house was clean or comfortable.

The home was big enough for all 10 of us, and we had a great time. In my opinion the house needs a little attention. it was clean, but had a few cobwebs. the master bathroom shower did not work, beacause there were no knobs to turn it on.the bbq on the lower level needs to be replaced, unusable. The beds need to be replaced, they saged in the middle.the garbage disposol needs to be replaced, you have to turn in off and on to work.The furniture in the room off the kitchen, really needs a good cleaning, or be replaced, very dusty smelling.If this was all taken care of we might think about next year for vacation rental. Loved the location.

We were called by Cool Cabins the day before we left for Big Bear and told that the Paoli property was being repaired and would not be ready on the day we were to arrive. We were given a smaller cabin for one night but charged $250. When we checked in they gave us the address of the Paoli House as well as the one night replacement cabin. We stopped by the Paoli House to make sure it would be ready the next day and found the owner and his friends having a party. There were no repairs going on. They had our deposit for two months and full payment for three weeks before we were to arrive.
When we did move in to Paoli the next day we found a house that is in a great location but has been allowed to get run down. Fixtures have been ripped off walls, smoke detectors have been removed, some hand rails are loose and seem unsafe, the lower patio is a mess and in disrepair, ants came out on the counter every night, the beds are marginal, several lights were burned out and some of the furniture has burn holes. Basically it seems the owner and Cool Cabins feel they have a prime locations cash cow and are content to collect top dollar and shrug off complaints. I wish I had read other reviews prior to wasting my money on this place as several other people have also complained and obviously Cool cabins and the owner just don't care.
When I complained to Cool Cabins I got very little satisfaction and dispite repeated requests never heard back from the office manager.
My advice is that if you want to have a great time in Big Bear, don't rent from Cool Cabins and definately do not rent the Paoli Lake House.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 08/26/2011

I have sent my complaint to your Chamber of Commerce and your Resort association, of which I was told by Rebecca that a supervisor from Big Bear Cool Cabins was going to be contacting me, that was 3 days ago, haven't heard from anyone. I will be filing my complaints with the BBB next.

house is showing its age, beds are old. bedrooms get hot in summer. (on the other side the house was cheaper than most on the lake) my complaint is with the management company. The exterior deck was filthy, all the chairs were filthy. I called and they said they would send someone over to clean it - never did. We ended up washing everything. The dock is dangerous - the ramp is twisted sideways and slippery. If you are picky do not rent this house. All this being said we had a great time

The condition of the Paoli Lake house was terrible - I hold rental agent responsible.
· Two of the only five dinning chairs were broken (house hold 12 - where are the others to sit?)
· Foot stool in family room had a hole in the fabric
· Yellow chair in living room had big hole
· Dishes, glasses and silverware had to be washed before they could be used
· Electrical outlets were mis-used? And missing covers
· Too few towel racks - most of which were broken
· Clothes dryer made racket when running
· Blinds in master bedroom were not installed properly (would not cover window), were broken, and missing controls
· Exterior was in bad need of painting and maintenance
any additional Comments:
Just not what we expected at the price we paid. We were very disappointed.

The check-in process was very smooth and fast.
Due to a bad snowstorm, we had to wait 3 hours for a snowplow to clear the street up to the driveway, but had fun shoveling the driveway while we waited.
The house is nice and big, with lots of room for our party of eight and two dogs. It is an older home, so we didn't expect perfection. Everything worked, although it took a long time for the house to warm up, and we needed to use every single space heater we could find in the bedrooms. Of course, the temperature at night dropped to 5 degrees, so that is understandable!
The view of the lake is incredible, and so are the grounds around the house. We had a wonderful weekend playing in the snow, and we all decided we'd like to come back in the summer one year. -

A nice cabin weekend with friends. We loved that there was a separate room with a fireplace with no TV which lent itself to us actually interacting with each other around the fire, plus it was delightful that we all passed out around the fire on the first night. Just a few minor glitches - the heat didn't seem to kick in for a while (hours) but eventually got warm and the cookware wasn't great and some broken (no corkscrew so we had to improvise). Otherwise a good cabin. Would have loved to stay here during the summer to use the outstanding outdoor space facing the lake.

The pictures and the description from the web site doesn't do justice to how big and comfy the cabin is. We didn't know there is a master bathroom in the master bedroom. Overall it has everything you wish for and more, the only problem we had was the heating, for some reason didn't work well but we managed by burning a lot of wood.I think it is even better during the summer.
