this cabin was large for 4 people and comfortable. It was a little dated and had an odor that resembled black pepper that lasted the whole stay. The cabin itself was clean and cozy, but having stayed in other cabins it was not my favorite and would not be my first choice. The location of the cabin was nice it was secluded but very close to the village and a close drive to ski mountains. It is a good location for sledding but unfortunately there was no snow. The Tv's could be updated, there is no Wifi, and the garbage disposal leaked when used. The cabin was average.

We stayed there for couple of nights and enjoyed it very much! There was no internet and the Fulton sofa bed needs to be repaired or changed! Other than those I recommend it and will go there again!

We did not know what to expect booking a cabin over the Internet. We have gone through Cool Cabins before and had a very good experience and we will definitely use them again to book our next Big Bear vacation. Our cabin was very clean and cozy. It was also the perfect size for 2 adults and a small child. The only negative was that it was too quiet. The day we got there, we did not see even one car drive down the street . I was a little leary walking down the street with my 3 year old without my husband. If you want a secluded getaway, but still have amenities close by, this is your cabin.
Awesome little getaway!

My husband and I took our four year old grandson for the
fourth of July holiday. We rented the quiet moments away cabin. For the three of us, it was a perfect size. The cabin looks like it's in the process of being remodeled. The kitchen, bathroom, and sitting area has been completed. The kitchen is not very well Equipt with kitchen items. The weather was in the high 90'S, and the cabin does not have air conditioning or ceiling fans. Since the cabin is upstairs, the cabin was in the 100'S. We made due with floor fans. I was extremely put off by the attitude of management when I called to see if they had any floor fans. I was told by Trish- welcome to big bear, and that there was a Walgreens that sold fans. Other than her rude comments, the trip was fantastic, cabin was comfortable, and other staff was helpful.
Great snowey getaway

Loved being walking distance to a sledding hill! Stairs were covered in ice and scarey, but otherwise a great stay!
This cabin was in a beautiful, relaxing area.

The cabin was much more nicer than we expected! The photos online need to be updated so people can see how nicely it's decorated. Furniture, bedspread, etc have been updated. We would definitely stay here again! It has a huge balcony that can be enjoyed during the day or a place to relax and see the stars at night. Definitely a perfect getaway for a g

My girlfriend and I loved staying here. Its tucked away with a hill to its back and at a high point over the other cabins/homes in the area, so it really does have a private feel to it even with other cabins so close. Its on the outskirts of the suburban areas and a really short drive to the shops/lake. You can actually see the lake easily from the deck! There weren't pictures of the bathroom when we booked this online, so we were a little scared, but the bathroom might have been one of the nicest parts of the cabin, beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was huge & fully stocked with any kind of cookware/dishes/cutlery you may need plus there's a nice dining table and a couple of table options on the private outside deck, so this is a great place especially if you plan on cooking. (no dishwasher though) The bed was very comfortable as well. I definitely plan on staying here again.

My husband and I stayed in this cabin for two nights and we loved it. This is the 3rd time we've rented through Big Bear Cool Cabins and this is our favorite cabin by far. The cabin is very close to the village yet in a quiet neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly too! The kitchen and bathroom have some updates and the living room sofas are very comfortable. The best feature of this cabin is the outside deck. Its huge! The only thing that might put off travellers is the amount of stairs that have to be climbed in order to reach the front door. Not a good cabin for older folks or people that need special access.
The cabin is very cute & had everything & we needed for the week

The cabin was very cute & it was more modern inside than many of the others I had seen online. It was decently located, not too far from everything. It had all of the basics to have a bbq (plates, spatulas, both a gas & charcoal grill) on the deck & there is a patio set so you can sit outside. The picture makes it look larger than it actually is & you only rent the upper portion of the 2 stories & the lower part is locked up. It is still large enough with a kitchen, dining area, living room and another couch that pulls out into a bed. The pull out bed was very uncomfortable to say the least. Everything else was nice & I really have no complaints at all. The place was cute & we'd totally rent it again.

Great place to stay if you don't want to stay on Big Bear Blvd, but want to be close to everything. Literally a 2 minute drive to the Village or you can walk if you like...it'll be an uphill jaunt on the way back to the cabin though. It's on the second floor so the pro is that you have access to a big ol'deck if you want to eat al fresco. Con is that you have to carry all your stuff up a flight of stairs and worry about noise levels for anyone downstairs. Luckily we don't think anyone stayed below us, so the kids ran around all they wanted.
Another pro...the price is right. Compared to other places I researched this was a pretty good deal.
Cons..the TV didn't work. Called maintenance but they never showed. Also, if spiders give you heebie geebies, not the place for you. Cobwebs galore.

My boyfriend and I had a romantic getaway at this cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. We went for a hike along the trail entrance right next to the place. We quickly found a beautiful point that overlooked the lake. It was a very serene moment. The only down side of staying here (if you consider it a down side) is the cable on the TV did not work. We were told this when picked up the keys and they offered to refund us any movie rentals. On our way up we were recalling another Big Bear stay were there was no TV and no wireless. It was wonderful. So we weren't too disappointed to find out the cable didn't work. However, I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. Other than that, the trip was wonderful and relaxing.
A great get away.

We had a wonderful time up in big bear. The cabin was cozy and nice.
The Telivision didn't work but we didn't care. The only problem I had
was the steps up to the cabin were covered in snow. Other then that
had a great time.

The cabin we rented was smaller than we expected. It was upstairs so that was a bit of a pain. The cabin was plain and did not have a welcoming environment. It almost felt like a hotel room.
The only saving grace was that there was mountain area close by where the kids got to play in the snow for free. Read more

Great bed and nice kitchen. Minutes drive to the village. The view was nice from the deck dispite all the tree litter. No push broom available. The heater wasn't working so we went through a lot of wood in the fireplace and also forced to used the Thermador electric wall hearter in the bathroom at night to keep the temp up. Bottom line this is a nice place but needs to be cleaned-up and checked-over more closly before the next rental. It was in the high 30's but a really cold night could have been a disaster. I was promised a discount on the next rental for our trouble. Read more
Upon receipt of your review we did confirm that you called on the day of check out to report that the heater did not work during your stay. If you had called during your stay we would have sent maintenance to resolve that issue. As soon as you the reported the issue; maintenance did go out and light the pilot to the heater. Understanding that there may have been some confusion we will still honor a future discount. Thank you for your review as well as your business.

The cabin is a lot roomier than the pictures give credit for. It was extremely clean. The cabin is the upstairs one, as we did not know this and had to call the office. Its very quiet and the backyard goes up the mountain side, which we had fun hiking in the snow. Beautiful views and within walking distance of the village. It was overall an amazing experience and we will definitely do it again!

We came up for a week over Thanksgiving for some 4x4 exploration in the snow. Was not disappointed, the place was clean and a well stocked kitchen with every utensil needed to pull off a good turkey day (except a masher or working blender, but that's me being critical). Plenty of towels, blankets and a great bathroom soap basket was a nice touch. This house is backed up to national forestry land so it feels very quiet with good tree views toward the lake. It's not too far out from the village or lake to walk. I would definitely come back.

Since we have never rented or stayed here, we didn't know what to expect. The cabin was less comfortable and equipped than other rentals we have experienced in other areas. The kitchen had no basic supplies - cooking oil, coffee filters, basic spices. The fireplace and barbeque ashes had not been emptied in some time. The Village would have been a stenuous hike from the cabin.

I was very pleased with my visit to Big Bear and staying in one of the cabins from the site. From the check in, key pick up and actual stay, I was never let down. The cabin was much bigger than I was expecting as compared to the pics. It was exactly the getaway I was looking forward to and thank Big Bear Cool Cabins for making it come true.

Very Charming - True Getaway Feel

The cabin was just perfect for my husband and myself. Although the cabin was small and quaint the ammenities were quite nice. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was very clean and stocked well. However, I would recommend a fourth chair for the dining room table as there were only 3 chairs and the cabin is able to accomodate 4 people. We would definately rent this cabin again. It has a true "getaway" feeling to it.
