San diegoFoxing loved it!
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Needed to get out of town and spontaneously decided upon big bear! Came across cool cabin and found the fox paw! Booked it same day for a three night stay. The cabin was located in a nice neighborhood very close to the village. Loved that the location was central. The cabin has everything one would need. Beautiful kitchen, jacuzzi tub, awesome fireplace, great back deck and yard, garage turned game room! The only downfalls of the cabin were the stained carpets and couch, but it's a party pad, vacation rental that is reasonably priced.

El Centro, caI would not rent this place again.
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We were welcomed by a dead hawk on the rear deck. It was quite large and smelled really bad. We had to clean up ourselves. The couch is overed with staines - making it look really old and unsanitary. The kitchen was incomplete - missing spatulas, skillets and grill utensils. The yard was unkempt and hazardous for children to run around in. I would not stay here again.
The only positive thing was the spacious master bedroom/bath and pool table in garage.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 08/10/2012

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Pleasant and comfortable, with a great back deck and a sliver view of the lake. We were only 3 but six could have easily been accommodated. "Somewhat" close to the Village and very close to alpine Slide. Unfortunately, some of the finishes (light suede on the sofa) do not endure well messy renters (not us!) but the decor is otherwise attractive with a great fireplace. Decent kitchen, great fenced yard for dogs, nice game room and a very nice neighborhood for walking. Disappointed there was no internet access provided, and there's something a little crazy with the thermostat - it came on to 80 degrees in the middle of the night.

Orange CountyComfortable, dog-friendly house.
Left on 04/18/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The house was a fairly good match for our family of five. Beautiful newer home, with hardwood floors downstairs & a very nice, well-stocked kitchen. The game room in the garage was excellent. The yard is fenced, and our two little dogs (~ 15 lbs ea) weren't able to find a hole anywhere to escape. But their favorite spot was the upstairs balcony, where they could watch the few cars passing and the birds flying by.
The kids shared the second bedroom and the futon on the landing. One problem: the bedroom has an opening to the living room, so sound from the tv traveled readily.
Also, there is no dining room table. Three bar stools at the kitchen counter worked for the kids, but my husband and I had to eat at a small folding card table we found in a closet. Not so great for the family style meals that we are used to, but manageable.
There are chairs and a table available on the deck, but it was too cold to use them while we were visiting.
There were nice views from the decks, and good airflow throughout the house. We were also able to find plenty of pillows and blankets for everyone, which was nice.
The kids loved the spa tub. In fact, they didn't want to leave it!
This was our second time renting from Big Bear Cool Cabins, and they have been very helpful each time. Easy check-in and even easier check-out. Thanks for a great stay. -

I really liked our stay there but I wish they carried cooking herbs or at least salt. They did not have enough plates or cups. I have been to a lot of cabins and they always carried the basic essentials. I was very surprised. It's a great house and I would definitely stay there again!!! (we cooked there a lot that's why!)

Lakewood,CANeeds to be cleaned
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012
The house itself was big enough for our group. Convent location!!! My one major concern was the cleanliness of the cabin. You need to hire a better cleaning crew. The counters were sticky, the vents do not ever seemed to have been clean and full of dust. Same as the room fans, which need to desperately be dusted. There were spider webs hanging from the ceilings. I would recommend bringing your own flat sheets for the couch, it was gross (dirty and stained). There is no dinning room table (well a folded up table and chairs in hall closet but no where really to put it). Again, my major concern was how dirty it was. The pots desperately need to be replaced. And the beds were hard as a rock.
Also when we checked in and went to the cabin the keys were not in the lock box and I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come with the keys.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 03/27/2012

san diegonice house but could use some attention
Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in December 2011
the house was not as clean as we expected. there were used empty water bottles on the floor and the fireplace screen was black with soot. also the intake panels were dusty and black. there is nowhere to sit together to share a meal. only the bar area and a card table. the couch could use a cleaning or better yet another style so you can view the fireplace and the tv when sitting on the couch. the kitchen is roomy but the pots and pans could use a facelift. the non stick pans are peeling etc. the foos ball table is unbalanced and someone has put phone books under the legs to balance. the pool sticks were all broken, cool cabins brought over usable ones quickly though. the deck, yard and view are very nice, the yard is secure for any pets. the neighborhood is quiet and safe, lovely for an evening walk. if you have teenagers or young adults with different sleep habits the secondary bedroom has an opening to the main living area downstairs so sound is an issue. also the tv did not work in that room. the loft is just that an open loft with no privacy. all in all we had a great visit, the house is roomy the linens were clean and the beds were comfortable.

This cabin was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was big enough for us to do some cooking. The game room was also fun. Good location. Only two complaints were that there apparently was no wi-fi. Also, I wanted to plug in my iPod to the stereo with my aux jack, but I couldn't get it to work. There was no setting on the actual stereo for this option. Other than that, I'd recommend this cabin!

The Fox Paw was a fun cabin to stay in and was in a great location in Big Bear. Close to everything. However if you plan to do any extensive cooking be sure to bring your own pots, pans, utensils, etc. Unfortunately, the bed in the master bedroom was uncomfortable. The couch downstairs is pretty filthy. Take a blanket you don't care about to throw over it so you can sit & relax. Despite these things, we would stay there again.

Agoura Hills, Ca.Pretty awesome!
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The Fox Paw was very nice...but we did have a few issues. First there were ants in the cupboard & in the dishwasher! We were told we could walk to dog swin lake, but it was a very long walk! Also the wood banister outside was giving "splinters" to everyone & should really be sanded & stained. One last issue, the beds were very uncomfortable and actually there was only the smaller bedroom that had a real mattress, the other 2 were skinny "futon" types. All in all we liked the place, but wished it had air conditioning and next time we will book with Cool Cabins, but closer to the lake.

This was our 7th year renting through Cool Cabins and this was my favorite cabin yet. The neighborhood was quiet and it was nice to sit on the deck in the evening and just relax:-) The only bad thing was the 2nd bedroom has a large hole that overlooks the living room below so if you are a couple in that room you will not have any privacy. We moved a large bookcase found in the garage in front of it and that helped!

We had a great time. The house was plenty big. It was more then enough room for Wife, 3 daughters and 2 small dogs. Back yard was spacious and the garage was converted into a play room for the older kids. I think the best part is that everything was practically walking distance. I highly recommend this location to stay at. You will love it also!!!

Really, really loved the flat screen t.v. in living room to watch sports!

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I loved the cabin, it was beautiful and Big Bear was snowy and fun, however the house smelled so musty my eyes were burning! I would have called to complain, but what can be done about a otherwise clean house? My husband and kids didn't seem to mind, but the smell gave me a runny nose and a headache. It was very snowy and everytime the door was opened the snow came tumbeling in. My guess is that guests didn't really clean it up and now the place is foul smelling.I hope they air it out this spring.

Fox Paw was pretty, but it was strange that there is not any place to sit and eat except at the bar which accomodates 3. We were there with children and grandchildren who we only see a couple of times per year, so it would have been nice to be able to ist and all enjoy a meal together. Also, didn't like how the second bedroom is open to downstairs. Working with Cool Cabins was great and would rent through you again, just not Fox Paw.

The Fox Paw has so much to offer its guests from the game room, the beautiful kitchen and living area, to the short distance to the lake. Most guests have not found the lack of a dining table to be a problem, but we are very sorry to hear that this posed an issue to you and your guests. We will make a suggestion to the homeowner about the lack of a dining room table. Thank you for taking the time to share information regarding your stay; we look forward to extending our hospitality to you in the future.

Left on 01/13/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The cabin layout, comfort and sapce was great. Kitchen very new but unable to cook for a large group. The cabins fits 7 people but the kitchen pots and pan are too small to cook for so many people. The can openers (2) were both broken and some of the forks and knifes were dirty.
The beds were pretty comfortable, but the bed covers and sheets were not totaly clean. I guess they change the bed sheet but not sure when the covers were last washed. Which made the sleeping experience not too comfortable. Also need extra beds heets and pillows for the futons.
Bathrooms were great.
Overall a nice cabin except for kitchen and bed cover issue. -

My family and I had the best time! Our cabin was so cozy and wonderful to stay at. There were plenty of blankets and we basically had everything we needed.
The only complaints I have are:
1. The cabin was a little dirty. We had to sweep the floors and the stairs as we saw hair and other stuff on the floors.
2. We needed a new propane tank (the one at the cabin was very low). It took 2 phone calls to get one delivered to us.
Overall, it was a very memorable vacation and I'm glad I chose Cool Cabins. The staff there was aboslutely fantastic, especially Shaina and Herman. They were all helpful and courteous. -

House was spacious and very clean. But dining room had no table, so our family of 7 including old grandma had to sit on the little bar chair to eat dinner.
I could not find any wine/martini glasses in the kitchen, only coffee mugs. I had to call the office and beg for it. Not a lot of utensils as well, could not fine can opener or wine opener.
Couch in the living room was disgusting, dirty, definitely time to buy new one ( Considering that i paid $2000 for 3 nights)
Definitely not comfortably for 7 people. One of the bedrooms had small queen bed and window without any curtains, so entire house was awake at 0500 because of the very bright sun... -
