The best cabin I have ever stayed in!!!

Left on 03/20/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Everything about this cabin was excellent. The cabin was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Also there was plenty of different areas near the cabin to play in the snow. The staff was very helpful and friendly when I got snowed in at the cabin. They even called someone to plow the road so I could get my car out when I was leaving and they waived the late check out fee. I highly recommand this cabin and I will definity stay here again.

      Great Cabin = Great Times

Left on 03/09/2011 for a stay in March 2011

This was a great cabin at a reasonable price. Originally we were going to come to bigbear in december, but we had to reschedule for march. Luckily there was still a lot of snow on the mountain and we didn't even need to use our chains. There is a nice little hill behind the cabin that the kids can slide down on. There's also some bigger open areas within walking distance from the cabin to play in the snow. The cabin itself was nice and warm. They have a full kitchen for their guests to use, but my recommendation is to bring paper plates/bowls and plastic forks/knives so that you don't have to wash dishes while you're on vacation. The down sides to the cabin were that there was no bathroom to use upstairs (I think it was the locked room upstairs), and the bathroom downstairs turns into an icebox over nice. The other problem was that the memory foam mattresses require some getting used to. But I loved watching HBO before going to bed on both nights of our stay (all three of their tvs are hooked up for this). The last problem was that the top bunk bed in the room with the smaller tv was wobbly, so nobody used it. The jacuzzi is covered during winter so we couldn't use it. There isn't a lot of privacy in the house, but it's great for families with kids. All in all, it was a very nice cabin with very appropriate decorations all around the house.

Thank you for responding to our survey on unit 312. Most 2 story 1 bath 2 bedroom homes in big Bear Bear are of this configuration. We try to make our descriptions clear so guests are happy about the cabin they are in. There is no spa associated with this cabin. We are sorry for any confussion that occured. We do hope you come to Big Bear again.

      Great Cabin

Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in January 2011

This cabin was cute, clean and overall nice. The snow play area behind the cabin was the absolute highlight of our stay. It was great being able to just go out back and have some fun sledding, rather then drive anywhere looking for snow play areas. My family and I loved our weekend in this cabin. The only small complaint I have is that the top bunk beds did not seem stable at all. My son ended up sleeping on the floor because the top bunk wobbled so much even before he got in it. Other then that, I would say definitely pick this cabin for your stay in Big Bear.

      Decent cabin

Left on 01/14/2011 for a stay in January 2011

First cabin I've rented so I cant really compare it to others. I have extremely low standards, so anything impresses me a little. I don't need much... just a place to sleep and food to eat.

Very nice snow encounter experience for my kids

Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We were at Bee Bears for 3 nights, it was a very nice place for kids and Snow play, on the backyard they can go direct to ride their's sleds.
We do not need to move to much from the cabin it has every thing in the kitchen to make any meal.
Of course you need to bring all the food.
Carefull with the hill it will get icy, so you might need chains to get in and out of the cabin, we did use them until the second date.

Bee Bears Cabin is cute and sleeps many for a 2 bedroom

Left on 04/29/2010 for a stay in April 2010

I like this cabin for its cute Big Bear appeal. There is a spa but it is located on the front patio next to the driveway so there is little privacy but it was clean and maintained right before we got there. Although it was listed as a 2 bathroom, there was actually only 1 that renters are able to use due to a lock being placed on the upstairs bathroom door. The heater in the useable bathroom downstairs was broken but we advised the front desk staff of the issue upon our check out. All in all, I would rate the cabin an 4 out of 5. Oh yeah, the beds are all memory foam matresses which was a pleasant surprise as well!!!

Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We had a great time, the cabin is great for families with small children. In my opinion 7 adults would feel very cramped with only 1 small bathroom (bring your own toilet paper). The sleding hill out back was perfect. Beware the private road is steep and Snowball Lane is hard to find without GPS in all the snow we had, the stick with the lane name was completely buried. Also with all the snow, the satelite dish went out, bring DVD's. The wireless internet is a joke, don't bother it's so slow your trip will be over before you can downlaod anything. We had to shovel the drieway, found a shovel. And the neighbor above plowed the private road or else we would have been stuck. The neighbor said the rental agency would plow the driveway if we called, but he mentioned this after 2 hours of shoveling, oh well great exercise. You will have fun here, I would stay here again...

Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Nice house especially was happy about the cable tv and jacuzzi, however it would have been better if there were 2 bathrooms. But we survive the one bathroom, our next rental we would prefer a location away from the main road(Hyw 18) and a little more secluded location.

Thank you for your response to our survey of Bee Bears, Unit 312. We have verified the internet shows only 1 bathroom for this unit. This is a gambel house and has the typical 2 bedroom 1 bath configuration for this size gambrel. The house is on a dead-end street with very few houses. Please come and stay in Big Bear again. There are lots of activities year-round.

      Excellent Cabin

Left on 02/25/2009 for a stay in February 2009

We stayed there for a weekend to ski and play in the snow. It was close to everything. There was plenty of places to play around the cabin.

The cabin is in great shape. We had no problems as at all.

The only downside was the beds were alittle hard, but after skiing all day, we were too tired to care.

The hot tub worked fine and was warm and ready to go.

      A Great Get Away

Left on 01/22/2009 for a stay in December 2008

I went up to this cabin with some friends for new years. The cabin was in great condition and had plenty of snow and a hill right behind it for sledding. Sharing 1 bathroom can get tricky with 7 people but we managed. We were glad we brought chains since the hill up to the driveway was icy and fairly steep. The spa was great and the beds were warm and comfy. The bedrooms have closet space but not many dressers. The heater kept the cabin nice and warm too. This was a great trip and a wonderful cabin.
I suggest bringing extra towels and chains if you're going to this cabin in winter especially!

Quiet location, sleepless night in terrible beds

Left on 08/12/2008 for a stay in August 2008

We loved this cabin until bedtime, when none of us could sleep (not even the kids who normally sleep fine) because the beds were so ridiculously uncomfortable. The bunk beds squeaked and made it impossible to enjoy the otherwise quiet setting, and the queen beds were sloped and sagging. There were not mattress pads on some of the beds and my daughter felt worse than the princess and the pea because the hard mattress buttons poked through the sheet. We talked to the vacation rental manager in the morning and they moved us to another equally unacceptable site, so we just forfeited our second nights' stay and went home to sleep in our own beds.

      Wonderful woodsy feel!

Left on 08/01/2008 for a stay in July 2008

We spent three wonderful nights at Bee Bears in July. The cabin was
just like the pictures and a perfect size for five of us. The beds
were comfortable, the jacuzzi and decks were fun, and the BBQ and
      kitchen worked well.

The cabin is in a convenient location. It is a 5-minute drive to the
closest fishing beach and about 10 minutes to get into the village
where you can rent kayaks or other boats, go to the swimming
beach, take the chair lift up Snow Summit and hike down the
mountain, go to the water park, etc. It took about 20 minutes to
get to the Discovery Center on the other side of the lake. There
were plenty of summer activities and clearly marked hikes in and
around Big Bear for the whole family to enjoy.

Our only suggestion would be to take your own wine glasses and
      kitchen towels.

      Just OK, nothing special

Left on 07/16/2008 for a stay in July 2008

Had we known (paid more attention to the description) we would never had rented this unit. There is only one bathroom and it is downstairs while both bedrooms are upstairs which makes it very inconvenient if you have to use the bathroom at night. The only other issue we had was cleanliness. The upper deck was filthy as was the spa. The property mgmt co. responded quickly after we called and it was dealt with promptly. Overall not a bad unit but not special either.

Thank your for responding to our survey. I am sorry this cabin did not give you the experience you deserve. We strive to make sure the descriptions accurately state the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. We will note in the description or the unit that the bathroom is downstairs while the bedrooms are upstairs. It is unacceptable the unit did not meet cleanliness standards. It is also unacceptable the spa was not clean. We have pool/spa certified technicians who are responsible for keeping the spas cleaning and running. We will make sure this spa has special attention paid to it as well as review this complaint with our spa servicing personnel.

      Nasty Little Suprises

Left on 02/29/2008 for a stay in February 2008

Well, HONESTLY, the night we stayed there, we found a couple little suprises. In one of the bunkbeds in one room, there was a child's underwear with obvious brown stains in it, lodged in a corner of the bed. In the same bedroom, the queen bed had a LONG wire sticking out of it which ended up cutting my friend's leg. Also, I'm not if it's JUST because it was winter, but the jacuzzi does NOT get hot at all. Just luke warm. Whoever is the cleaning crew for this cabin is horrible.
