      Great location..needs a few things

Left on 12/29/2011 for a stay in December 2011

Very comfy and nice house with excellent view of the lake. Also close to everything. All 10 of us enjoyed it very much!!! Just a few things like towels and linens seemed quite dirty, but we used the washer dryer to wash them ourselves. Also there was no toilet paper, so take your own :)

Cabin was a bit above average but not great

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011

My friends and I left the cabin with mixed emotions about it. It gets a 10+ for being near the lake (literally across the street) and Village (just a short drive away). The customer service was also really good. Although our online registration didnt go through, the person who was there for check in quickly helped us. Check out was fast and easy (we just dropped off the key!)Customer service was great, and I will definitely go through them if and when we go back. Lastly, place was overall clean; washer/dryer is convenient to have.

And now the cons: Initially we believe the upstairs bedroom had three full size beds like it states in the description. There are only two, and a futon outside the room. Be aware that there is only one full restroom. The second only has a bath (no shower) and upstairs is a half bath (just sink and toilet). One of the light bulbs upstairs was out, the sink in the second restroom wouldnt drain without you physically having to lift up the pop up, and there was a mat in the first bedroom that was extremely dirty and smelled (we had to remove it during our stay). Cabin is ideally for 8 persons because there are only four beds (unless someone wants to sleep in the ever uncomfortable sofa beds)

      Outstanding !

Left on 08/02/2011 for a stay in July 2011

I thought planning a vacation would be difficult, but with bigbearvacations.com (where you speak with a live person not a constant pre-recorded machine!), planning a vacation was a breeze. The hardest part was to get everybody's busy schedule in line to set and plan our vacation date.I was very satisfied with the agents (Sara C.) professional and helpful, with warm and friendly personality. Everytime I call or e-mail with any concerns I may have, she would answer me promptly and patiently. She gave me choices and gave me all the pertinent information to help me choose the cabin that would be perfect for our trip. She was a very big help! Thank you Sara! This was my first time going to bigbear, and I was the one assigned to book the place, with bigbearvacation.com they made it easy for me to choose the location and even offered a free activity (skyride) for all of us guests. It was an outstanding experience for us, the location was perfect! Lake was walking distance, the view was breath taking, and the cabin was very cozy and clean. The best part of the cabin was the outside patio, great for barbecue in the afternoon and for star gazing at night! Bedrooms are decent size, kitchen was clean, living room was spacious and with windows that had a great view of the lake!Loved it! The price was very affordable, there was 10 of us who split the cost, we had our own groceries, and it was all worth it! One thing that would really make a huge difference is to have the jacuzzi working at the back of the cabin. That would have been awesome. So if you are reading this comment, and would like to get the best deal and save your extra money for your pontoon ride or jetski or whatever you want to spend your extra money, grab this cabin. You will not regret it! Don't forget to ask for any on going promotion.Have Fun! Thank you Sara C. and bigbearvacations.com for making our bigbear summer trip the most awesome and memorable experience! And yes, I will visit you guys again soon! :)

Our whole experience, start to finish, was amazing!!! Big Bear staff was very welcoming and helpful. The accommodations were perfect for the 9 of us who stayed the entire weekend. Location made it convenient to get to and from the ski slopes, market and around town.

Great place to stay at... The cabin was more than what we expected. There was however an issue with the water heater, but that was taken care of very quickly by the staff. Ill be sure to return again.

      What a Dissapointment!

Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We have been renting homes here in Big Bear Lake for the last 5 years. We come up here every year. This is the worst house we have experienced here in Big Bear. As we walked into the house it had a bad odor and was not clean properly. Many things were not functioning correctly for example, some of the lights didn't work, water from the shower head didn't spray right and not enought pressure, bathtub didn't have a plug to stop the water from drainning down, two of the bathroom doors didn't lock, one bedroom door would get stuck upon opening and closing it, the shower wouldn't drain the water quick, when showering the water temperature would all of a sudden change from hot to cold and cold to hot by itself, dishwasher left soap on the dishes, and two of the Tv's didn't work properly. One good thing was that the heater worked great. Thank god for that.

      Ripp Off

Left on 08/31/2010 for a stay in August 2010

I had a last minute idea for myself; wife and 7 children to take a trip to big bear for a night of relaxation on Saturday aug 21st. I contacted the agency which was very helpful considering it was last minute. Upon arrival to campwood I enjoyed the location of the cabin due to the beautiful view of the lake, but when we entered the cabin we were extreemly disappointed with the Uncleanliness. The upstairs loft had multiple dried animal fecies; the beds sheets had body fluid stains/hair and the couches were covered with animal hair. Needless to say the only place we were able to sit was the outside chairs. After one night and $500 later which left our family feeling ripped off, made me decide not to use this certain agency ever again especially for our upcoming labor day vacation. Thank You

      Manager

We deeply apologize for the issues with the cleanliness of the home. Camp Wood #422 has been with us at Big Bear Vacations for quite some time and has done very well in guest satisfaction as well as repeat clientele. Due to the same day notice of arrival during peak season this property did not undergo an inspection before your arrival. For that we apologize again, since then we have done a deep cleaning and full carpet shampoo to ensure the quality and cleanliness for the next guest.
We appreciate your feedback and honesty.
Camp Wood #422 is a wonderful cabin for all seasons to come and is located across the street from our lovely Big Bear Lake and next to The Shore Acres Lodge. Less than a mile away is the Village and local marina. We are very confident in the over all quality of this property.

great location but poor bedding and kitchen

Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010

Great location and front patio with BBQ and lakeview. The bedding is very poor, esp. in the upper level, can't go there with 10 people. Also, windows are not secured in upper level, you can't leave them open at night, otherwise kids can easily fall out the window when they move in their bed. Kitchen equipment is very old, half of it is almost broken and we had to rewash everything before using. Bathrooms are clean and comfortable.

      Wonderful time

Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in July 2010

The cabin was roomy enough to house 4 adults and 4 children with plenty of space for everyone. Being located across the street from the lake and swimming pool was a bonus. We all had a great time. We did experience a leak in the roof after the thunderstorm, but the management sent someone out within the hour to check it out.

We spent Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful lake view home. We were immediately taken with the beauty of the home and amenities. As mountain bikers, we found the property perfect for accessing our favorite trails. We enjoyed evening walks around the lake and a fire in the outside fireplace.
      It was perfect!

IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY TO A BEAUTIFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME, THIS IS THE PLACE. THE OVERALL SCENE IS GORGEOUS. HAVING THE LAKE ACROSS THE STREET IS THE ICING ON THE CAKE. THE HOUSE IT SELF IS SO COMFORTABLE EVEN FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TROUBLE STAYING ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN HOME.

      March Vacation

Left on 03/01/2008 for a stay in March 2008

This is a very nice cabin. The only thing I would suggest is working on the customer service. I was told I going to get a call back and did not. I stayed again in February of 2009 and it happened again. I know they are busy but it almost makes me want to find another rental provider. I work in customer service and sometimes we loose sight of customer service. If you tell a customer you are going to do something then make sure you follow through. All in all the cabin made up for it. It is always nice to get away and be in the mountains of Big Bear.
