The couch is broken. You sink in an hit the front board with your legs. Lights are burned out. The kitchen faucet is flimsy. We ran out of coffee filters. The view from the dining table was a blank wall.
Overall, we were disappointed. Considering the high cost, the cabin was substandard. -

San Pedro, CAA quiet getaway weekend trip to beautiful Big Bear!
Left on 05/07/2010 for a stay in April 2010
I thought the cabin was very clean and nice. The cabin was just the right size for my and my husband. I loved it was right off the lake and that it had restrictions on noise level and how many guests were allowed to visit, so that people around the are wouldn't be disturbed.
I have only one or two complaint's. First, the larger couch was very uncomfortable (cushion's would fall through the bottom). Second, the mattress of the bed was so uncomfortable for my husband, that he ended up sleeping on the floor during our second night there. Sorry I really hate complaining, but just being honest.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay, but if decided to return we would like to check out our cabin first before hand.
Thank you,
Jodi Abercrombie -

Unhappy in Big Bear
Brea, Ca.Needs maintenance
Left on 08/27/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This location has potential, but is desperatly in need of an up grade. Number one problem was a broken toliet seat. This obviously has been broken for quite some time and is a very inexpensive and a quick fix, which means there is no excuse for it not being repaired. 2. handles broken off refrigerator, resulting in very sharp edges. ( I would not want my kids staying here )3. Couch in living room needs to be replaced as it eats you when you sit on it. 4. Back deck should be extended to get closer to the lake and enhance the view, a higher rate could then be justified. Same thing goes if the unit had a fireplace as the current heater is very hard to use.

Location was great. Cabin was larger then I was expecting. sofa in living room was really bad - you sunk down into it. Some people in the neighborhood were raising hell day and night. I don't know where they were staying but it was pretty noisy

The driveway had to be shared with the front house. It was inconvenient to have to rotate cars. It was too narrow to park side-by-side.
The front house tenants car slid into our truck.
Other than that the cabin itself was great. It was clean and didn't have a musty odor like other cabins I've stay in. -

I spent a night over the weekend with my girlfriend, the cabin was comfortable and quiet. The cabin has all the essentials. The only I thing I did not like is that its pet friendly and there was allot of pet hair on the bed and couch. Overall I liked the cabin we felt real comfortable and I recommend this cabin for those who are looking for a simple place to stay at an affordable price.

I would not recommend this property as it is in desperate need of an upgrade. The walls and carpet were dirty and stained. The ceiling was black in areas and you could see water damage. The blinds did not work well and had broken slats. The vinly flooring in the bathroom was broken and some pieces missing. The house also smelled bad.
So wear you shoes at all time, bring a fan and a lot of air freshener if you want to stay here.

Great location, big yard, big deck, right on the water

This was our second rental with Big Bear Vacations. The cabin was nice and clean, but the sofa in the living room was broken and uncomfortable. The location is nice -- right on a little lagoon perfect for our 2 year old to throw rocks and pretend to fish. Within 50 feet of the pool and dock at Shore Acres.

My wife and I was greatly surprised to find coffee mugs, bowls, cups, utensils, many many extras there that we didn't think would be there!!! It was clean, and we plan on returning to that specific cabin within the next 50 days! I'm telling you we had a fantastic time! We rented a boat for 4 hours and cruised the lake! I recommend Cozy Hollow to anybody who is not wanting to spend hundreds of dollars to have a fantastic weekend getaway!!!

Horrible!
Left on 07/07/2008 for a stay in March 2008
This place looked good from the pictures, but when we got there we found that pictures can be deceiving. For starters the place looks like it hasn't been updated or renovated since the 80s, and that's not an exaggeration. The walls were dirty the floor was un-even and felt like you were going to fall through it. The carpet was filthy and stained. The couch looked like they got it from the local dump. The bed was extra uncomfortable and the comforter and sheets were stained. Yuck... I could handle all this, but the bathroom made me want to take a bath in a bottle of hand sanitizer. The walls and bathtub were moldy. The paint was bubbling off the walls. It was flat out gross! For as much money as you fork over to have a nice stay up at big bear this was a HUGE disapointment. And I'm not a picky princess I'm in the military just to give you point of reference. Don't stay here!

Thank you for the time you spent in responding. We have changed the description to better describe the décor of this mountain home. As a result of the time you have taken in helping us better understand the condition of this property, we have asked the owner to paint the walls, renovate the bathroom and upgrade the couch. He has already replaced the carpet and all bedding/linen.
