La CrescentaWonderful time in the snow!
Left on 03/05/2013 for a stay in February 2013
I took these pics in the snow when we were there in Feb. (notice the snow bear to the right). We had a great time, a perfect cabin for 2 (and our dog). They have upgraded some furniture, it looked nice and cozy. One thing, they don't mention that it is a steep driveway, so in the snow, you may not get up without chains (or with). The furnace needs some attention, it was really loud when it kicked on and off, sounded like a squirrel was trying to get out, kept us up at night. Mattress was a little on the saggy side. Didn't have any baking type dishes in the kitchen (for mac and cheese), and only a small fry pan. But overall we made due, and had a great time, made a sled run next door, and could see the ski slopes on the deck. We will stay there again!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your current stay with us. We have addressed the furnace noise and lack of kitchen supplies, and saggy mattress with the property manager and will have them remedied ASAP. We appreciate the honest feedback so we have the chance to fix these issues for all the future reservations for this cabin. It sounds like overall you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

EscondidoBeautiful area!
Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The location was great! Check in was easy! The cabin did smell a little musty but the carpet looked new and was very happy with the overall experience there! But just be aware that there are lots of spiders in the house and even in the pull out couch. We even had one crawling on our dog! The mattress is pretty uncomfortable and noisy even though it is new. Also I don't think our shower was properly cleaned. The previous peoples stuff was left in our shower, so it just made me think that they did a very basic wipe down. We will be returning, whether or not we stay in this cabin I don't know but we will use bigbearvacations! My husband was happy that there is HBO and FX movies available!!!

Everything was great about rental. Very clean.
Only thing I would do improv is put
Put some air freshners or even
Plug-in air freshners. The place smelled
Stuffy.Response from Big Bear Vacations - 08/24/2011

Menifee, CADidn't find Paradise!
Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Deck filthy, screens broken or missing, moths everywhere. Sofa Bed unusable, roll-a-way kept collapsing, had to hold a pot on the stove while stiring to keep it from sliding off. Toilet flushed poorly, bed mattress terrible. When I talked to someone about the broken microwave, he showed up without one and had to return. $600.00 plus for three nights? I would have been disapointed at half that price.

Thank you for responding to our survey. The microwave has been replaced. The Moonridge area of Big Bear goes though a moth season lasting about 2 months. We are sorry this occurred during your stay. The toilets are working properly. The stove is properly level and the mattress is new. Again, thank you for our response to our survey.

I think the cabin was excellent and I enjoyed the bathroom cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable and spacious for two people. There is nothing compare to the peacefulness I enjoyed during our stay, however, I would have wanted the cabin deep in the forest. I would recommend the management to dust bed and sofas, and if the small sofa can get change to another one to add more attractiveness to the place. If I were part of the management crew, I would add furniture with elegant colors, such as red, yellow, and brown. Contrasting colors would add energy to the place and make it more beautiful. Same recommendations for the bedding, elegant and contrasting colors. I would recommend this cabin, my suggestions are based on the aesthetic part and personal preferences only.

San DiegoBetter for a Summer stay...
Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The cabin was conveniently located. The main issue was that that neither the driveway or walkway to the front door were cleared. The driveway is a little steep; had to leave the truck at the bottom and walk up. Very slippery. The interior was basic and clean.

We were pleased to find a cozy 1 bedroom cabin with a fireplace, front patio with bar bq and everything you need in the kitchen for a feast. Assuming you bring your cooler full of goodies. It was quiet, peaceful and very romantic. A perfect weekend getaway for our 1st anniversary.

It really is a cute, romantic place to stay. Even though there is room for 4 it is a perfect little place for 2. The walkway and driveway were not salted. I'm not sure if there was fine print somewhere stating that this was the renter's responsibility, but it would have been nice if this had been done. Because of this we were not able to enjoy the deck either. We would've salted it ourselves, but we were only there for 2 nights. I'd utilize this company rental company again, but I'd ask they make sure the rental is safe to get in and out of.

Cozy Home
Left on 08/13/2008 for a stay in August 2008
Just the right size for 2-3 people. When we were there, sitting outside on the deck or another bench under the shade was very nice and peaceful. Immediate neighbors were quiet. Enough space to park a either a boat trailer or of equal length.
The two issues I have with this cabin are: 1) the beds were WAY too soft (the double bed in the bedroom and the sofa pull-out bed); and 2) the kitchen wasn't stocked properly with dishes, oven mitts, and proper dish towels. I don't know if that is the responsibility of the home owner or the vacation rental to assure that the kitchen is up to basic standards.
The towels and linen supply was ample for 3 people. Checking in and out was a breeze. The goodie bag was a very nice touch.
The BIG plus (besides the deck) was the fact this rental allows a pet.Response from Big Bear Vacations - 08/14/2008

Great little cabin that has everything, perfect for two people. Very quiet neighborhood. Great fireplace, enjoyed sitting on the deck (great view) and hearing nothing but the bluejays and the wind through the trees!

Great little cabin, great location
Left on 07/07/2008 for a stay in March 2008
Cabin was fine but overpriced for the size & the area with all of the fees added onto the "nightly rate". For this price, the renter should not have to haul out their own trash and drive it across town!! Also, the driveway hadn't been plowed all season so we had to park on the street - not good when snow plows are out clearing streets.
Response from Big Bear Vacations - 07/11/2008
Manager
Thank you for responding to our survey. Trash is required to be taken away by the guest in that our small community does not pick up trash in short term rental homes. Trash needs to be removed from the property as quickly as possible so our local wildlife does not abscond with it. We are required to snow plow all homes when when snow accumulation reaches 4 inches. We will review this issue with our snow plowing force.
