San DiegoOur best vacation in years
Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed at the oriole cabin in late January 2013, it was the best vacation spot we have had in years. The cabin is clean and well stocked with sleds and a fishing pole, a full kitchen with a very good coffee maker, microwave oven, BBQ grills etc.
The front porch is a great place to sit and watch the kids play in the snow.
It was in the 20's and 30's and snowed both days, the heater worked great and we were never cold indoors. the furniture is clean and comfortable and the beds were clean and comfy too.
The cabin slept 7 of us comfortably and had tv's in every room. It's close to a 7-11, McDonald's and Walgreen's for those quick runs for snacks and drinks.
If I ever go back to Big Bear we will book our trip when this cabin is available.

PasadenaNice couple of days but the place needs a good Spring cleaning.
Left on 04/14/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This home needs a bit of a make over - the carpets and the duvets in the house need to be cleaned and the housekeeper wasn't that good. The bathtub had hair and there was a dirty sock from the previous tenant on the floor in the kids room. Too bad that the loft doesn't work - I'd just remove the ladder though as it is tempting to climb up for the kids. The kitchen was clean, but the kettle was broken and hopefully will be replaced. Bring TP and papertowels was good advice. The heating was excellent and it was very warm and cozy. But the bed in the masters and the pull out couch were very uncomfortable. Overall it was a nice experience, but the front porch was not very inviting and it would be nice to have enjoyed a place with an outside view.

Solana Beach, CAGreat Cabin in the Snow
Left on 03/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Loved staying here! The kids spent the whole week sledding in the backyard (perfect for the 2-10 age range). All of the linens were thoughtfully labeled and there were plenty of towels. The bathroom has been tastefully updated. Nice touches like the antique skis above the fireplace made this a great midwinter getaway at a very reasonable price. It took us only 5 minutes to get to the Snow Summit parking lot.

Canyon Lake, CAGreat family cabin!
Left on 02/03/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This cabin was roomy, the kitchen was clean and well stocked, the rooms were cozy but plenty of space for our family of 5. The kids loved the foosball table and board games. The backyard was fantastic when it snowed, the kids spent an entire day sledding and building snowmen and a snowfort right in our backyard. We had some struggles with the TV but when we called for help someone showed up in less than 10 minutes - can't beat that kind of service! We will stay here again for certain. One of the better rentals we have had from Big Bear Vacations. Only issue was that the heater was really loud and never got the entire house as warm as we would have liked. But the master had a space heater that made up for that at night and there were so many cozy blankets that we all stayed plenty warm.

San DiegoGreat weekend at Big Bear
Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The cabin was clean and provided all the comfort we needed for a get away weekend for the 4 of us (friends and family). The beds were comfortable and the foosball table was a nice added touch. Enjoyed the wood burning fireplace as well (firewood was provided). The only thing missing was a large skillet for frying up bacon...we used the small one. Overall a very good experieince and would stay there again.

Irvine, CAWonderful Cabin!
Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in February 2010
This is the second time our family has stayed in this cabin and we have been
quite satisfied both times. Locations is excellent if you want to go skiing at
Snow Summit, probably a mile away. The cabin is clean and I like the one story
setting for my family. The beds were comfortable and I especially liked the
space heater in the main bedroom. The kids had a lot of fun with the foosball
table and all the different games that were there. The kitchen was well
stocked with glasses, dishes, and cookware. The only think I wished for was
some basics for cooking, like oil, sugar, salt, and pepper. When we first
arrived we did not have enough towels in the bathroom but we swung by the
rental office and they were happy to give us plenty more. With 5 children, it
was nice to also have a working washing machine/dryer. Big Bear Vacations
were very professional and our family will be renting cabins from them every
year! Thanks! -

Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009
The cabin was nice and family friendly. Fooseball table was a hit with the kids. Backyard fenced which was nice and made it easy to watch the kids play in the backyard. Cabin is also close to all. I'd stay there again.

disappointed with barking dogs
Orange Countytract home without a view or yard and barking dogs
Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The service was fast and great. The cabin was pleasant inside. It could be better with a 2nd bathroom. We could walk to the park to see the 4th of July fireworks. The problem with this cabin was that there was no sitting in the frontyard, there was a small hard wood bench, not relaxing. The backyard was full of weeds and an eyesore. No sitting area except for on the cement driveway. The next door neighboor had 2 dogs that barked constantly. This caused 2 additional neighbooring dogs to chime in. We finally had to call the police in order to get some sleep.

Left on 02/11/2009 for a stay in February 2009
Nice little home close to the ski areas and town. Was well equipped
and everything seemed in working order. Handy to have washer and
dryer for wet ski days. High speed internet and TV/DVD system
worked well. Fireplaces smokes a bit, be sure to move log holder as
far back in the fireplace as it will go. Hot water is good once it gets
going. -
