The people at Big Bear Vacations went very far out of their way to take care of my special situation. They did all I needed them to do to make our trip perfect. The house was very clean and together with a great location helped us to have one of the best trips we have had. I will always use Big Bear Vacations in the future as I have always used them in the past. Thanks again for all you did and hope to see you soon.

The house was very nice, clean on the inside. Outside was a bit of a different story. Could have been the nature of the time of year, but it looked like they hadn't even attempted to clean the outside furniture, deck, jacuzzi in quite some time. When we checked in, they gave us a phone number to call if we needed anything at all, 24 hours a day. I called that number three times and was on perpetual, automated hold for so long that I gave up all three times.
Bottom line, house was good. Customer service could be improved. Cleanliness of the property could be improved. -

We had my husbands parents visiting from Washington state and wanted them to accompany us on a business trip. As it worked out our daughter, her husband & our grandson were able to join us so I rented the Paradise Cove unit. What a place!! in a word wonderful! I gave a few low marks, as there are some things (in my opinion) that should be addressed. The sofa in the family room is "done" dirty and torn. The water temp should be lowered, it is scalding in the kitchen. We swept and cleaned both decks. chairs & table before use, (lots of dust & cobwebs)and the BBQ was unusable!! The inside seemed clean at first glance, but I had to mop floors & dust (maybe for my own peace of mind) But...other than that we had a great time.

I cannot imagine a better location in Big Bear. Right by the lake. Updated kitchen and rooms. You could tell the owner invested some $, and it was not a quick and cheap update. Great for family or several families with the kids.

I would rent the house again. That being said,
the BBQ needs to upgraded to gas and the owners boat needs to be pulled out of the water so we could have had full use of the dock with our boat. That was really it - we spent 5 nights in this location and were very pleased.

The home is beautiful. Surprised my husband with a trip to big bear for fishing and this home certainly provided the fishing and also the relaxing time away from the kids.
There are two reasons this home did not receive highly recommended. One could be easily addressed the second is in no way the fault of the homeowner.
First, when looking at homes I wanted lakefront with a deck to relax and read. The pictures of this home show lounge chairs and a table on the deck. I was geared up with book and wine only to find one chair on deck. No table, no lounge chairs. Luckily we had our soccer mom chair in the car or one of us would have been sitting on the deck. Home pictures should not show lounge chairs if they are not provided or at least advise the renters to bring their own.
Second, the last night we were in the home renters showed up next door and had a party on their back deck. It was extremely loud. Still going strong at midnight we had to shut all the windows. It was a warm evening.
Check in and out was easy and friendly.

This home is conveniently located to the village and ski slopes. It is a great home with all the conveniences needed. The kitchen was great, but you need to be an engineer to figure out the oven! It works very differently than a normal electric oven. They need better directions listed somewhere. Bring your own internet card as their connection never worked. Maintenance needs to ensure that services are better handled, such as a number of light bulbs needed to be replaced. The home is very nice, but the sofas need some cleaning in the den and some cushions in the Living room. Checking in and out was very easy.

Great location, nice house but overpriced

This is a great lakefront house and a wonderfull location. We really enjoyed our stay there.
The downside was that the neighbor house was very overcrowded - about 14 people staying on a very small lot. This was disturbing and very noisy. Secondly the kitchen equiment, especially compared to the renting price of this house, was a bit poor (like i.e. only a few glasses, about 4 teaspoons only etc.).
Overall it is a great location and the house is really nice although it appears to be quite a bit overpriced to us.Response from Big Bear Vacations - 12/08/2008

Well it all started when I wanted to do something that my ex at the time. My daughter's father, it was his b/day4/18(56)With golden years and so much experience it makes him the man he is!! I said to myself go online and find something romantic for him and I did!My b-day being4/15(36)What do I get the man that has & had everything. So I go online, THERE U WERE!! The woman that helped was absolutely wonderful she knew exactly what I needed to make this work and recommended Paradise Cove.When we got there,running late as usual. It was worth every second and minute. We were going to go out but we said NO, we want to there in that big beautiful house on the lake! 6am was so peaceful and after 8 long yrs, he prposes to me and says this was the BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT HE'S EVER RECEIVED. Thank you, again! We shal visit soon!

We LOVE this place! We came from Kentucky to visit some friends out here and had the experience of a lifetime!! The service is excellent - the people are friendly and very helpful. The beds are extremely comfortable and the sheets are top quality! The jacuzzi has the most incredible views of the lake! They have everything you would want/need here! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. And on the technological side - free Wifi, big flat screen TV...what more could you ask for....oh wait the pool table! I love the decor of this home. It's the perfect place to relax with your loved one(s) for a few days. The area is so serene and beautiful and the cabin is wonderful!
