Happy Renter
Orange CountyThe cabin was even better then what we hoped for!
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This cabin was perfect size for the 11 of us, very spacious. It came with a really nice TV and entertainment center. The spa was on when we first got there, ready to hop in, and everything worked well. My only complaint is that it was short 1 bed from what the description said, but luckily we had an inflatable mattress, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I would definitely rent here again!

Bad bad bad. Two nights of stay w/o sleep. FiIthy cabin. None operative washer and dryer. Slippery front enterence caused two of our guests hit hard on the floor. Bad and noisy kitchen disposer. Noisy toilets. All plates and cups had chips on the edges. We'll never use your company, and will deny good portion of the payment.

Good time, clean spa, everything worked. Good value, great location. We got charged $25 for trash fee (that we did not leave). I called management and they erased the charges. Warm, homely cabin! Nice appliances. The breaker kept tripping when we were using the clothes drier.

Thank you for your response to our survey. We have check the clothes drier and everything appears to be okay now. We are sorry this caused you any inconvenience. Please come and stay with us again.

I spent a single night at this place with my family 11 total and it was a great experience, I wish we could have stayed longer. The house has all we needed, clean enough and very comfortable. The dishwaher wasn't working, but that's the only issue we found.

San DiegoComfortable, but lacking essentials and malfunctioning appliance
Left on 12/15/2010 for a stay in December 2010
Overall, the cabin was good for what we needed and for the price. However, I would definitely recommend stocking the kitchen with more essentials that are necessary for cooking. We had anticipated cooking the majority of our meals in the cabin; it was the main reason we decided to stay at a cabin rather than a hotel. The kitchen at the depot lacked a lot of the things that are needed for preparing a meal: oil, pans, pots, etc. It would have been nice to have had those things at our disposal to make the experience better. Also, the dishwasher was broken so when we ran it to clean the dishes, disgusting water leaked from all over the kitchen. It came up through the sink and left a huge mess. And on that note, I would request having additional trash bags in the cabin. Cleaning up the dishwasher fiasco forced us to fill the trash bag that had been provided prematurely and we needed extra ones for the remainder of the stay. Thank goodness we brought extras, but it would be nice to have those available to your guests. Finally, the refrigerator in the cabin refused to stay closed despite our best efforts. This also needs to be fixed before I will give the Depot a better rating. Otherwise, our stay was great and I think this cabin is a solid rental for the price.

Canberra, AustraliaFantastic time with good friends
Left on 12/01/2010 for a stay in November 2010
The accomodation was in a very good location and was a really great size. The only problem was with cleanliness and lack of cultlery/cooking utensils. As the house accomodates 11 people, they need to have more supplies to meet this number. Aside from that, the holiday was fabulous and I would really recommend going through Big Big Vacations as they had outstanding customer contact and were so easy and friendly to deal with.

Thank you for your response to our survey. We will add more cooking supplies and cutlery. We have an in-house housekeeping staff to rectify any of those issues that occur during you stay. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay in Big Bear..

Left on 03/23/2010 for a stay in February 2010
The house had plenty of room, but I wish we would have known to bring a couple of things to make our stay more comfortable. They didn't have enough pots and pans to cook a meal for 11 people, or enough towels for 11 people. The beds are the oldest things there... not very comfortable. The yard was nice, we had a great time in the snow outside.

Orange CountyNice place to stay
Left on 01/28/2010 for a stay in January 2010
The house is nice and clean. It was big enough for all eight of us and we
enjoyed our stay. Loved the location - close to the slopes and the lake. My
only problem was that there were two broken chairs. I was actually sitting on
one of them, eating my diner, as it collapsed under me. I found myself on the
grown (it wasn't the wait, I am 130 lb.) It was unexpected and could have been
serious. That seemed unacceptable to me. The high chair seemed flimsy too. I
did not dare put my child in it.
Still, if they replace the chairs, I would stay again at this house. The size,
location and the rest of the amenities make it worth as second chance... -

The house was nice and I loved this place.
I would like to recommend this house to my friends if they want to go to the Big Bear.
The location of the house was the best place that I have ever visited.
It was close from the office and also close from the mall.
The workers were nice too.
I enjoyed this place when I stayed there and I would want to go back again.

This cabin would have been awesome if we would have been able to stay there! We were forced out of there a few hours after check-in because the heater was broken!!! We where moved to a much bigger place (too big! it kept the group more apart)right infront of the lake. That was gorgeous, but not the cabin we had originally booked. The Depot, for what little time we were there was great, good location, spacious...Wish things would have been different.

Las VegasWould not stay again
Left on 02/25/2009 for a stay in February 2009
Every year we visit Big Bear for our family trip. We have stayed in many cabins. But unfortunately, we would not stay in this cabin again. A positive was the size. It was large enough for our pack of 11. The bedroom sizes were also very accommodating.
Other than that, the spa took forever to warm up, the handles on everything fell off, I caught the shower door just in time before it fell off the track(which was not properly secured on) while my 17 month old daughter was in the bath and the cabin was dirty. I was told when we arrived that the cabin was cleaned and ready to go. That was not the case. The cabin was left in cleaner conditions when we departed than when we arrived.
This cabin might be good for a couple kids visiting for a boarder?s weekend that doesn?t care what works and what doesn?t.

Thank you for your response to our survey on unit 784, The Depot. There is a new spa at the cabin. We sometimes need to dump and fill a spa due the water readings taken at the time of the spa servicing. Whenever we do a dump and fill it may take up to 8 hours for the the water to come up to temperture in the winter. We are sorry this may have cause you any inconvenience. The shower door has been looked at and repaired. We do have an in-house housekeeping service that can take care of any cleaning issues you need. We do require our housekeepers clean our units in a professional manner. Again, thank you for your survey reply.

The cabin was super cool and fun there was just no hot tub like it said
in the ad and everyone was really pissed about that because that was
a main factor for us renting the cabin. other then that it was a pretty
sweet place. super close to bear mountain.Response from Big Bear Vacations - 02/02/2009

The Depot is an excellent place to relax and hang out with friends. A few of us from SHPE at UCR were having a retreat and snowboarding weekend, so we rented The Depot. Once we got there we were delighted at the accommodations. We felt right at home here. Each one of us had a place to sleep and the place even came with a jacuzzi and fireplace. I would highly recommend The Depot.

My family and I have had our share of horror stories in the past and we were pleasantly surprised to find a home that was cozy, in a nice area, close to shopping and an overall relaxing place. The only negative is the jacuzzi had "exploded" prior to our arrival :).
