The cabin was great! Very clean! The bed was comfy and the heater worked very well. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we asked for directions to places. The cabins are "off the beaten path" which was great! It's real quiet. You can't hear the traffic, only nature! Big pine trees surround the cabins. Great for bird watching! About a couple of miles from the lake. Not within walking distance, not a big deal for us. Full kitchen, which was very helpful. Planning on a trip in the spring so we can hike to a couple of waterfalls. Will definitely stay here again. Planning on bringing my adult kids too.

We actually ended up staying in #6 because it had more privacy. #12 is right next to the pool. Very nice place. My only complaint is that someone needs to be in the office in the morning. We were not sure what to do with the key and it was about 10am and still no one in the office! best part is the location, right across from some really nice mountain bike trails.

We enjoyed our stay at Oak Knoll 12. It was a beautiful quaint cabin with all the amenities. It was super quiet at night and the check-in and check process was seem-less. The place was clean and fresh when we arrived. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless. There was hot running water instantly and the heat worked really well. We brought fire wood but never made a fire. The couple who run the place are very sweet and very efficient. I would go back again. It was a wonderful get-away from la.

The cabin that we stayed at (Oak Knoll 12) was a nice cabin. It smelled of smoke from a fire in the fire place the night before, but that was ok. We were planning on building a fire ourselves and making the same smell. The gentleman that owns Oak Knoll is also very nice, laid back and friendly.
Our actual interaction with cool cabins was fairly negative however. We received no directions on where to go, I had to call and ask. When I called them and when we arrived to check in I felt as if I was more of an inconvenience to them than an appreciated customer. We rent cabins almost yearly and will probably not go through this agency again. Read more
David, we are deeply apologetic for the customer service or lack there of that you received at check in. We are embarrassed. Should you change your mind and decide to give us another try please refer to your reservation as we have added a discount to be used. Please ask for either Jackie or Velvet as they are trained in customer service and will do their best to make sure your stay goes as perfect as possible and you leave happy.
I expected something different.

My bf and I went up there for his bday in February the same day the cop killing
Guy was being chased.6/7th of Feb.he was very close to our cabin
The sheriffs woke us up early with all the noise.
We felt our lives in danger. Even though the cop was there. I n ean
The guy had already killed 3before.
Then as we were going to check out there is no1 to take the key.
That means they vacated without letting us know to vacate the cabin
They left us feeling very unsafe and most of all shocked that they didn't let us know.
I loved the mountains and id go back cuz its beautiful.
But id like to ask for another stay at cool cabins.
All paid by u :) my bf birthday wasn't like we planned we were rushed out Read more
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Oak Knoll 12. On the day you checked out the owners of Oak Knoll were told that they needed to leave the premises by a Detective. They asked her which units were occupied so that they could inform the guests, however it was already past the check out time so most renters had already vacated. They informed the Detective that you guys we're still in the unit however you did not leave a cell phone number so he told them he was going to inform you guys that they needed to leave. No one had any control over the situation which took place that day and it was not your typical occurrence. The Owner's of Oak Knoll did as they were instructed by Law Enforcement. For personal reasons the Owner's of Oak Knoll needed to be evacuated but not the entire lodge. If the police felt that anyone else was in danger then you guys would have been asked to leave. We apologize that this incident took place during your stay but it was not something that anyone could have anticipated and we would have been more then happy to reschedule your stay for up to six months had we received a phone call that you felt your life was in danger. We hope this clarifies things for you and we are very sorry for any miscommunications.
Great for two .

My gf and I had a great time the cabin is perfect for two.!
The fire place is beautiful, plus the owners where so loving and welcoming .
It's near the village and magic mountin
its also near hills so everyone will have fun.!
Probably the only bad part would be the Internet, The wifi wasn't that great but it's completely understandable your in the mountains .
Other then that the place is great and it's so much fun.!
We had a fun time and you should to .!(:

We loved the little cabin. It had a fire place and it stayed very warm in the snow. There was a great view of the snow covered trees and the kitchen was exactly what we needed. It was clean, the people were nice and great for the price.

Where the cabins were located we felt like we were in the mountains and not so much in the city. Just across the road are hiking trails. It was wonderful waking up in the morning & sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee. The cabins have a nostalgic feel to them. The owners are very nice & have many stories to tell around the campfire. We look forward to going back!

The cabin is impeccably clean, freshly upgraded, and well furnished. The grounds are also really clean. Chuck, the owner, took great care of us. Cabin 12 looks onto the heated pool. There is a great big fire pit with plenty of seating for a campfire at night, which Chuck always lights. Even though its only a couple of minutes from Big Bear Village, it feels like its in the boonies. We were only 2 but I would love to come back here for a family reunion.

This cabin was cozy and highly convenient because it was right next to the sparking blue clean pool and the kids playground. The sound of nature was so relaxing. There was a cozy swing near by where me and my husband sat to watch the sunrise. There is a fire pit steps away where we gathered for a camp fire. It is in a quiet location and very private. All in all a great experience.

Staff at Cool cabins main office were not particularly accommodating. Cabin was clean and cozy however we expected better quality of appliances ( that were at least 25 -30 years old and could be a safety issue)We like the fireplace. Heater was working good but somewhat noisy at night possibly due to the high winds.Great location.Close to shops. On site staff was very welcoming and replaced broken appliance right away. And make sure to bring a fitted sheet for quine size bed.

The cabin was older but in good condition. The service was excellent, give them a call and they will fix anything right away. The oven and stove were older and unreliable. (the pilot lights went out and the oven was too hot) also the furnace went out the second night we were there. there was an excellent supply of dishes and cooking utensils. Bring your own sheets because there was no fitted sheet, just two old flat sheets. The fireplace was awesome but there is no gas so bring a fire starter. The grill is a charcoal grill. Very convenient for snowboarding because it is 5 min from the slopes. Good not great, would recommend if you are on a budget.

My wife and I were completely satisfied with our stay at Oak Knoll Cabins,(#12). The lovely couple that run the facility are very friendly and accommodating. The cabin area is very cozy and feels as if you're actually in a secluded area of the local mountains but yet so close to all the local attractions. We took some of our own fire wood and had a fire each night of our stay. We look forward to returning.
Thank you for great time.
