The cabin was full of charm and had more amenities then I thought. The owners were kind and helpful. This place was a gem and had an awesome snow play area across the street. Perfect for small kids. This place has been in the owners family a long time and I'm do pleased they shared it with us. We will be back for sure

This was our first trip to Big Bear. It was just wonderful!! The cabin was great...clean, roomy and well equiped! All we had to get were groceries! We were there for 4 nights / 5 days. We had a fantastic time there. Can't wait to get back next year! Okl in close enough to town jet we felt we were out in the woods! Chuck is so nice and friendly! This will defenetly be our yearly family vacation!!

Overall, we had a great time at Oak Knoll 3. It's very convenient to Big Bear Road but far enough away to feel woodsy. I think it's actually in the National Forest. There is a nice well maintained forest trail just 100 meters down the road which is super convenient.
It was pretty much what I was expecting from the pics and was clean and comfortable. The living room area is a bit small but quaint and rustic. Nice big stone fireplace. We had myself, my wife and our 2 year old boy and it was perfect. Having a separate bedroom so our son could go to sleep before us was important. The kitchen is huge.
They probably should have mentioned that the pool area was not opened for the season (maybe I missed that on their site). The play areas for the kids are old and didn't seem well maintained, but they were usable. There are 8 - 10 cabins around a center gravel/parking road area, so you'll have neighbors which was a plus for us. (I think there was one - not sure the number - that was 'interior' and not backed up to the forest. Think I would pass on that one.)
Queen bed was nice and also had a single bed in bedroom. Also futon in living room. Bath was ok and shower was good.
All in all I would definitely stay there again unless I could find a comparable place cheaper.
