60750Great place! Location!
Left on 01/22/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Literally across the street from Big Bear Mountain Resorts! The house has a great open floor plan. Definitely more than enough room for 12 people with tons of snowboarding equipment. Great kitchen with nice updated stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc. All the cookware is usable, but not in the greatest condition. The only bad thing is they do not have a good kitchen knife. They have a set, but the butcher knife is extremely dull. No big deal. We bought a new knife at Vons. There's a BR with a queen, 2nd BR with a king, 3rd and 4th BR with 2 sets of bunk beds. It was great having 3 full bathrooms to split with 12. Nice water pressure and always had hot water. The shower heads need to be changed though bc of mold. Very nice rec room! Everyone loved playing pool and shuffle board. There are 2 Vizio flat screen tvs, 2 Sony stereos with ipod dock, and decent selection of dvds and vhs tapes. The washer and dryer are old, but work well. Hot tub was a huge hit! The house is just old and everything in it looks like it's from the thrift store. The bedding, furniture in rec room, and rugs were old and dingy. But we understand it's a 3 star and not luxury rental. We all loved it and had a great time!!

LASki Inn #1212
Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in December 2011
This place has a great location to Bear Mountain and is roomy and spacious for 12+. However, be prepared to bring your own amenities. There was no sponge to wash dishes, almost no dish soap, no coffee filters, almost no toilet paper, and no cooking utensils (spatula, oven mits, etc). The game room consists of a pool table, which is great, but the shuffle board table is on its last leg and we didn't find any board games. Also, we had a maintenance issue with a leaky bathroom sink that took over 24 hours to fix. It was a small part that was needed, which should have been fixed in an hour or less. Overall, we enjoyed the place and would stay here again because it was large enough to fit everyone and close to the mountain (which is awesome), just don't expect any extras. Also, cell service is spotty and there's no landline.

Ski In 1212It Wasn't all That
Left on 10/19/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Well for starters we did not have access to the lower part of the house :/. We can live though. It was a beautiful area, unfortunately there was no snow, but wonderful community. Other than that, before even checking-in make sure all the appliances work, The dishwasher did not work & the Oven was not heating, not to mention the handle came off, so much for baking brownies. Another concern the Jacuzzi was at a perfect temperature in the afternoon, however later on at night the temperature seems to get locked to one temperature which is extremely hot!!! And cannot be changed. All these are concerns that can be fixed, other than that the house was relaxing and peaceful, Great game area as well :) 4 stars

Thank you for your response to our survey. The oven door has been reattached. The oven and the dishwasher are working properly. All spas with a digital display can be locked if inappropriate buttons are pressed accidently by a person or by dragging the spa cover over the display. The lower part of the house (the build-up) is a storage/ basement area. There is no "house" there. We are labeling the basement access door as well as putting a label at the front door to clarify this mis-conception. Please come and visit Big Bear again. We hope you have a wonderful time.

We loved our cabin. We were literally directly across the street from the ski slopes (although it was summer). The cabin was in great condition, bathrooms and kitchen seem to have new cabinets and counters. Lots of space in the living room for our church retreat. Amenities at cabin were awesome (jaccuzzi, pool table, DVD/flat screen, etc). It was wonderful and everyone in our group was complimentary of the cabin. I would note that the knives in the kitchen are very dull. We cooked out on the bar-b-que, so sharper knives to cut the steak would have been nice. Otherwise, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. We absolutely loved the cabin and the location in Big Bear. Highly recommend!

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Perfect for a big group, so spacious! Lots to do for both adults and children. The lake was just 5 mins away which was perfect with our jetski in tow. We had such a great time. Couple things that should be fixed:
*shower going from warm to scalding hot, just like that.
*carpet is kinda old and not clean looking, it should be probably be updated soon.
*paint at front of home could use some fresh coat, especially to keep up with surrounding beautiful homes.
In any case, we loved being there and we recommend it! -

The Ski Inn #1212 is a good place to relax after a day of Big Bear fun. This rental is pretty good for kids unless you're nervous about the stairs in the front with little ones. The Ski Inn isn't the nicest place we've ever stayed in but since we have 3 rambunctious boys we weren't afraid of them scratching something expensive either. I would imagine this home gets a lot of wear and tear from skiers coming off the lifts. The work they've done on the place is much appreciated. They do have a little ways to go. If I was the owner I'd be really concerned with the big crack in the floor of the back bathroom shower. The kitchen is nice, everything worked well. The Tv's are all set up well for easy navigation. There's a ton of movies on DVD at this location, so that was a cool bonus. I liked the movie posters on the walls, let's you know a little about the owners. Had a great time fishing at the lake and relaxing in the hot tub afterwards.

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Ski Inn was fantastic! Clean and comfortable, great for multiple families. For us, it will be a better winter cabin, since it has a great view and access to the slopes, and not as much run around outside space for the kids outside. The living areas simply can't be beat! Great open kitchen with plenty of space and everything you need. The kids had a great time taking over the back of the house with plenty to entertain them, and the adults could cook, hang out, and relax in the front, it was perfect! I loved that we were right up the road from trails, which is where we got our outside time (with exception of the deck you see in the pic, there is no outside area around the house for the kids, so don't be surprised!). Hot tub was clean and ready to go. Granite counter tops even in the bathrooms gave an upscale, yet casual feel, loved it! Great place! We will be back!

The place is great. When we arrived the jacuzzi is already hit up waiting for us. We have 4 families with kids so the board games was nice to keep them entertain. The lake is beautiful.
It need a little personal touch up like the shower curtains need to be change because it's old and there are some holes for the rings are broken. The closets are a little smelly because is not been use often. Leave some opening for the closet and the draws from the bathroom so it can air out.
Overall the stay was wonderful, the kids have a blast. -

Los AngelesSummer Fun with Friends in Big Bear
Left on 07/21/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had a blast in Big Bear for a weekend in July 2011. We made some really yummy food and went for hikes and down to the lake. The location is great!
There was plenty of room for the 10 of us.
One of the rooms with bunk beds was a little dusty and the games were all mixed up and missing bits and pieces, however, we kept up our entertainment with billiards and shuffleboard and the hot tub and movies. (we were far from listless!!)
We forgot to bring paper towels with us and they were missed. Also, most of the knifes were pretty dull (which I would not normally care about however we cooked all of our meals and dull knifes can be dangerous). We had every other kitchen accommodation that we could have wanted though!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back again. -

House was plenty big enough for our family of 12. Great kitchen and overall layout of the house. You could see the lifts from the front windows which was great, lots of parking, a quiet neighborhood and walking trails just up the street. Overall we were very happy with the cabin, one of the showers had a big crack and the walls and carpet had a number of marks but still very comfy and homey feeling. Lots of comfy couches and chairs that enabled our entire group to hang out together for games and conversation. Very happy with the house!

Left on 03/21/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This cabin was pretty big, a large font room and a large back room, filled with all the bedrooms and bathrooms you could need in between. All the appliances worked great, and jacuzzi on the deck was nice and relaxing. The pool table was in good condition and fun, and the back room was fun to hang out in with the microwave, TV, and games all back there in a convenient location. the front room has a nice big TV and comfortable furniture. There was a great view from the front of the house. My trip had a bunch of full grown men staying there comfortably, and even the bunk beds were big enough. Overall I was very pleased with the cabin, and I think it is a great value for a large group of people.

There were alot of things that were broken when we arrived. Ie. pool cues, dining room table, no cable hook-up in living room. One of the bathroom tubs was severly damaged so we were afraid to use the bath or shower in that one.

We are having a professional look a the bathtub and all pool cue's have been replaced. These particular homeowners are very involved with the satisfaction for their guests and are making the necessary improvements to do so. I would personally recommend SKI INN #1212 to anyone!!

The location was amazing but the inside of the unit could use some TLC. The dishwasher was not working, the granit in the kitchen had a big piece broken off. The furniture has to be changed, but other than those things it was pretty fun. the kids stayed in the back of the house and the adullts were in the front.

We apologize that the dishwasher was not working properly during your stay. We have replaced the necessary parts and have it running just like new now!! I would have to agree with how valuable the location is; situated across the street from Bear Mountain Ski Resort what more can one ask for... Relax on the front deck in a steaming spa and watch the ski conditions before putting your boots on and tearing up the slopes!!!

The only thing that I would say negative is the snow machines were working all three days its like being next to the airport, but I know that was out of your control, the service guy didnt show up when promised, but once they did they were very nice and took care of us! Great jacuzzi, might be a 3 -3 1/2 star place not a 4 star, but a comfortable place otherwise!! Thanks, Steve and Dana Knauer
