      A good weekend stay.

Left on 02/07/2012 for a stay in January 2012

The staff at Big Bear Vacations were very freindly and helpful.
The home was clean, quiet, well decorated and comfortable. The location was great and everything in the house was in working order. Was not made aware that there was no fire wood in the home.

      Great Stay

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Service was poor because I called ahead of time to let them know we would come for early check in and they said okay. We got there several hours early and the staff then informed us the room may not be ready. They tried to call housekeeping to see if it was ready, but housekeeping could not be reached. An hour later, they still had not reached housekeeping and did not know if it was ready, so we had to wait for them to call us when it was ready. They never called and we went in 2 hours later for regular check-in time. The cabin itself was great. It was comfortable, clean and convienent. It was like a home away from home. The only negatives were the lighting downstairs and in the bedroom upstairs and the kitchen door's window had no cover. All in all, I would return to the antler's Retreat for another trip and we had a good time.

      Small and cozy

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012

The cabin's not very big but we expected that after seeing the description. There were some spider webs above where a normal person could reach and some of the panels on the walls were coming apart.

We liked how the kitchen is fairly open and that it is not an electric stove, but a gas stove. Kitchen amenities were laughable. There was only 2 pots (a small and a medium), and for the pans, all the Teflon were scratched up so we didn't feel to safe about using two of them. Plenty of bowls, plates, and utensils.

Beds weren't bad. Master bedroom's bed was pretty nice and the clean sheets were a plus. The listing also said that there was a sofa bed, but it really is more like the mats can be pulled out on the ground. Not a true sofa bed.

As for the bathroom, no real complaints. We liked how there were plenty of towels provided.

The place is also way too dark. In the living room, there were only two lamps for the whole place, which is just not enough. We did manage to find another lamp in the closet to plug in next to the dining table.

The plus? Definitely the wi-fi. The heater also kept us warm throughout the night. Location is good, with a short drive to Bear Mountain! There's also cable TV with DVD player with a TV upstairs as well (no cable upstairs). Don't mind choosing this spot again since it is fairly close to the slopes and it has everything we need. Just wish things could be improved.

Check-in was horrendous. When we tried to check in it was not very efficient at all.

Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback, as it allows us to address concerns that our guests might have with a vacation home. Unfortunately, it is common here in the San Bernardino National Forest to experience difficulties with spiders and other kinds of wild life. This is especially true during the winter when it is cold outside. We appreciate your input and take all reviews into account when addressing guest concerns, and hope to have the opportunity to help you with your future vacation plans.

We bought a living social coupon for this cabin. Very clean, bigger than expected and cozy cabin. The only negative for me is that the upstairs was poorly lit. Also, I had asked for a list on a couple of occasions for the things that we might need. For example, do we need to bring laundry soap, etc? We were told that everything would be there for us but wasn't. However, it was really no big deal. I'll just know next time to be better prepared. The bottom line is that it felt like home in no time at all.

      It was very nice.

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011

We liked the spacious cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. I would just recommended more blinds and curtains on some windows, so no one outside can see in. There were no curtains on the back kitchen door window. Some blinds were too short for the windows. We needed more privacy and a feeling of protection. Maybe these are in the process of getting taken care of. Other than that, everything was great. The checkin and checkout processes were wonderful. The people were friendly and helpful.

Awesome time in a wonderful cabin!!

Left on 07/03/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The cabin was absolutely perfect! The floorplan was nice & open. Larger than expected, and also had an additional 1/2 bathroom which was not mentioned before we arrived. Decks surround the outside of the cabin which made it great to be able to sit & visit outside & not be in the sun the whole time. I would recommend this cabin to anyone, and I also plan to stay in the cabin again in the future.
