The cabin is located directly across from the zoo. So you can hear the wolves howl at night and early morning... Pretty much all day. People even drove by at night and howled at them to get the wolves going, as long as you don't mind that the cabin is fine. There was a cool old school arcade but the screen was broken and had a bright white static so we couldn't enjoy it. Bummer :/ the dart board had only broken darts, so we couldn't enjoy that either. There was a bumper pool table that also turned into a poker table which came with everything. The bar setup became our beer pong table for the weekend. The living room had a big flat screen and was pretty spacious. There is a large deck with a BBQ pit that didn't really have any BBQ tools (no tongs, no scraper/brush etc.) so we had to improvise. All bedrooms were downstairs and had plenty of space and tons of board games including a Nintendo wii with a bunch of games as well. The best part about this cabin is that it is very close to Bear Mountain Resort and we never had to drive to go riding. Read more
Thank you for your review. We will get new darts over to the cabin so our next guest are able to enjoy. We are so happy that you enjoyed the cabin and the location. It definitely is one of the best areas in Big Bear.

Had an amazing stay at this property. Went up for the season kick off at Bear Mountain and could literally throw a rock into the Bear Mountain parking lot. We had a lot of fun. This house is comfy and really big. There was just myself, my husband and my baby so it was a little large but the price was reasonable! Everyone was really awesome to work with at Cool Cabins! The only thing I would mention is that there were quite a few spider webs through out the cabin but hey! It is the mountains. Lastly waking up and seeing a buffalo hang out in the zoo is pretty rad!
Cabin was more than rustic, in need of good cleaning many spider

Right price wrong location but if you like hearing wolves howl and the smell of buffalo dung this is the place for you. This cabin is not for small children because of the steep stairs. All bedrooms were downstairs with living area upstairs which we felt did not work with small kids. When we made our first meal we were shocked to find old food on most of the dishes and silverware. There was a dishwasher in the cabin...so be sure to check before you use. Some of the arrival instructions are not accurate for example the fridge is always on. Overall Cool Cabins were easy to work with but would not rent this specific cabin again. Read more
Thank you for taking your time to leave this review. As far as the dishes not being cleaned we deeply apologize and this should not be a reflection of this cabin at all, as our company was responsible for the cleaning. I went ahead and spoke to the cleaners in charge of the cabin to make sure they do a more thorough job in the future. The refrigerators are always on in each cabin, however we just ask that you do not overload it when you get in as this causes the fridge to over heat and stop working. A Buffalo House is a comfortable house just a stones throw away from three of the biggest attractions in Big Bear The first being Bear Mountain Resort, The golf course as well as the Moonridge Zoo and we highly reccomend it. We apologize that you had some issues during your stay , please advise our office in the future. We hope to see you soon!
Fantastic family fun

Eight of us ages 20-81 had a wonderful time staying at buffalo house. A little delay checking in but kind of expected on busy holiday weekend. It should be noted that 3 bedrooms and one bath are on ground level. Everything else (kitchen, dining, games, living room, 2nd bath, fireplace) is all upstairs. Easy walk to zoo and Bear Mtn.

We stayed at the Buffalo House Oct 15-21. We were excited upon arrival that we were literally across the street from Moonridge Zoo. Living in the city in Phoenix, it was a great pleasure to hear all the animals in the morning and at night howling, peace and quiet in between. Also the floor plan of the house was spacious and with 8 people in our party we were a houseful. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets. Every bedroom had a tv so we could all watch what we liked. I will be returning as soon as I can! Thanks again, The Hager Family

Had a great time. It was perfect for the 7 of us. It was a bit far from where we were competing in the Tough mudder, but that was my fault. great location to the Village in Big bear. Thank you so much cool cabin!

This place was a great getaway. The location couldn't get any better as far as closeness to the resort, and the kitchen was stocked with plates and cooking pans. Very Spacious and plenty of amenities to make our stay pleasurable. Thanks for leaving the Sleds! they got good use! We'll definitely be Back.

Very spacious and in a great location! Especially loved the upstairs living area! Kids loved the arcade game system. Parents loved the large wood burning fireplace. Could definitely see coming back for a repeat visit :)
